I notice that a lot of people have been sent here by to Gli Ulivi by their airbnb hosts, and we were the same. Entering the restaurant we had high hopes. The decor is intimate and cozy. This place oozes Pugliese charm. Unfortunately these initial impressions were the highlight of our experience. It took us 30 minutes to place our order, then another 45 minutes to see our food. When the food did arrive it was bland and really disappointing (in fact my 13 year old son remarked that it was comparable to the pasta served at his school cafeteria). I've travelled all over Italy, and I've had amazing food of a consistently high quality. I've never been been moved to write a negative review until now. The food was terrible, and the service equally atrocious. I should also mention that the outdoor area is inhabited by an alarming number of feral cats (who wait eagerly wait for food scraps to hit the floor)
There are much better places to eat in the area -- please don't eat here read more
