It's a very small cafe yet you can smell the feel the essence of an authentic Italian bakery. After a tour and a mile of walked stopped by to have a snack . The baker chef was handing out our snack. Freshly baked focaccia bread with ham and mozzarella cheese stuffing. Wow! This was a filling and delicious delicacy that you have to taste. Overall great experience.

It was more quieter up there, but eventually people started to roll in. We didn't know dinner for Puglians would be so late! The fun starts around 9pm! We ordered a vegetable starter that wasn't to our liking. The marinated eggplants was a bit too vinegar strong and no flavors with the onions. On the other hand, their pizzas were on point! I ordered the Casa Pinto and my friend ordered a Pesto one. It is hands down one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten! I've never been a fan of red sauce, but I guess the Americans butchered it! My wife's dish (Tortelli Fidelio) was what would be normally termed ravioli, supposedly stuffed with shellfish. We could not tell the kind of shellfish, nor could our waiter explain it due the language barrier, even with the English translation menu. Regardless, it did not impress. My pasta (Orecchiette in a baked clay pot with cheese and minced meat) was the local specialty. While the clay pot came out steaming hot, it was obviously reheated after having been frozen since sometime earlier. Underneath the top layer it was cold. Really? Reheated?? I had to send it back. While it came back to me hot throughout, the bloom was off the rose. We left without a dessert, already dissatisfied with having hiked over a mile from the town center for what was supposedly the best the town had to offer. A taxi ride back to our hotel near the town center was €20. Not money well spent at the restaurant nor the unnecessary extra cost of travel.

The Pinse was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Negatives: We walked in after checking the reviews to-date and the menu. They were moderately busy, but it took nearly 1/2-hour before anyone approached us to even take a drink order. My appetizer was a mixed salad, which was prepared in the prep area right in front of us. I first noticed the container of mixed greens looked wilted and the shaved carrots dried out and shriveled. While it was being prepared, I could see the chef removing pieces of rotten mixed greens. Then, as I started to eat it, I picked out about 10-pieces of rotted greens before I asked for the salad to be taken away. The manager who came over tried explaining that there was no problem because it was a "black salad." My wife and I were both amazed at that attempt! Fortunately there was no argument about the salad being removed from the check. After paying the check in cash, as we continued walking down the street, our waitress chased us down and asked if we paid the bill. We explained that yes, we did, and that the manager both collected the cash and gave us change. My wife and I were both a bit puzzled by the lack of communication.
