Our family had an enjoyable dinner at Pizzeria Terrarossa. It's in the central public square in Conversano, and on the beautiful night we were there, the locals had gathered and were strolling -- kids with soccer balls, old duffers razzing each other amicably, a wedding party at the nearby church, a gaggle of habited nuns, all were part of the people watching we were able to do while we awaited their opening (8 pm). The pizza itself was delicious, with a thin crust and very fresh local ingredients as toppings. The house red was cheap and yummy. The menu has English translations for everything, but I don't sense they get many tourists. Service was friendly, though required a lot of gesturing as we didn't share a common language. We were glad we went. read more
