I was visiting Riverside and I came across this local business. The citrus industry is Riverside's history, so I had to stop by and check out what produce they had. I was surprised to find they were set up more like a little market than just a fruit stand with many locally sourced goods. I was excited to find Old Town Bakery bread. They had cheese bread, sourdough, cinnamon, squaw bread, and jalapeño cheese bread. The price was comparable to a store and the bread was fresh. They also had several varieties of oranges, including a 5 pound bag of seedless cuties type oranges. They also had navel and Cara Cara oranges. The market has a sweet citrus scent when you enter. They also have a refrigerated section with juices, cheeses, spreads, salsas and other products. I also saw they had a large container of local bee pollen. They also sell snacks such as nuts and candy. I also saw they had Stonewall Kitchen products. They also have little cute citrus themed gifts by the register. They also sell fresh produce such as vegetables and strawberries. The strawberries looked delicious. Service was excellent and the check out it was fast. I will be back again to visit. read more

I've passed this little stand numerous times and wanted to go inside . I got my chance when I realized they carried products from local Riverside restaurants Olivia's and Ancho's. I was there in the afternoon and the selection was pretty picked through. I wanted Olivia's Spanish rice . There wasn't any left.Well kept shop , small feel . There were some original hometown items for sale as well as food . The pricing for the food was a little high for me. I came for milk too , but a 1/2 gallon almond was a little over $4.50.I didn't make any purchases this time . May stop in again in the future for one of their specialty days. read more

I've been coming here for years and I will probably never stop. Not only are the prices great, the fruit sweet, and the customer service great, but they just updated the building and added a whole little market full of goodies. Plus, they now have plenty of parking, and a cute backdrop for pictures. In the fall, they set up a mini pumkpin patch/picture area that's great for the kiddos if you don't want to make (and pay for!) the trip to one of the big patches around the area. Overall a great place to get local, giant, sweet oranges. I only wish they had a small trail or walkway where we could walk among the trees. Maybe one day. read more

Best orange juice in my life. July 2015. It was a rainy day. Got the oj from the small refrigerator in the back. Not much to see. Selection is very limited. We Are here for the oranges. Bought a giant bag of orange and a bag off grapefruit. Price was very good. Grapefruit was amazing. Oranges were Not. They got better and sweeter a week later. MayBe we got a bad batch. The store/ fruit stand was very simple. Most of the good stuff was in the front patio. There are some dry fruits, nuts and candy inside. Nothing fancy, quite the opposite. But the orange juice, which we drank on the way home was absolutely delicious. I was Shocked. The best part (beside the taste) ... The Ingredient label: "Fresh Orange Juice". That's it. So simple. So good. And suddenly my mind start listing all the times I had bad orange juices in buffets, restaurant, store bought, etc. I wasn't even in the mood for oj. Go there for the oj. I'm so disappointed! We moved from Riverside, Ca to Tucson, Az and our last stop was the Gless Ranch so we could buy a large bag of oranges as gifts to our new neighbors. We bought them yesterday and today I was going to make up a few baskets. We opened the bag to find several rotten oranges and the rest were green! What a rip off! I was always bragging about the great service and quality of items at Gless but I guess it's not that way any more. Don't let the orange bag fool you. Citrus never ripens once it's been picked. I do wish they sold fresh produce but they do have different types of nuts. Overall great experience and the oranges are sweet and juicy. We had half a bag in one day, that's how refreshing they are. My sister took my family and I here once go get oranges and now we're hooked! The oranges here are perfectly sweet, great for a snack, and when juicing there is no need to add water or extra sugar--it's so tasty and refreshing too! Currently they are doing construction to rebuild their building so they have a little fruit stand on the side but they're still open! I haven't seen anything beat their 25lb bag of quality oranges for $10 yet! Workers are nice enough though it is harder to talk to them now that their cashier stand is high up and the fruit stand itself if rather small. When stock starts to run out however they have a forklift ready to bring over another container of fruit! I don't think I'll stop getting oranges here anytime soon read more

I was in search of grapefruit juice and went in and asked the manager every when do they make the grapefruit juices and she said it's upon "costumers request" so the next time I went in I asked one of the guys that only spoke Spanish if he can make us a grapefruit juice and he rudely said "NO" and left to talk to the manager so when I asked the same manager about the juice she switched and said "No we can not make them" and gave us attitude the we're definetly not friendly and profesional at all so therefor I would not be going to this place no more. read more

Terrible place! The air is not filled w the sweet smell of grapefruit! We went to get out of the city. Was looking forward to going for 3 months. We drove four hours. I was craving sweet grapefruits forever that were not from a store. I asked for a bag of pink grapefruits. When I was handed a bag I asked again if they were pink and the guy said yes. When I got home they were not only white, but very old and bitter. I never tasted a grapefruit that tasted so bad. Like an old lemon. My friend spit it out and threw away the bag. It hurt my stomach. Before, I would've definitely given them five stars, but their prices have increased since I last visited, and this last time, I was not impressed by their fruit. I purchased a 25-pound bag of oranges (because I'm excessive), and this huge thing of strawberries. The oranges weren't as sweet as they normally are, and the strawberries tasted and smelled terrible. Seriously, after sitting in the car with them in a bag for like five minutes, I was overwhelmed by the smell of farts. I'm not a fan of that smell coming from food I plan on putting into my body. Either way, though, they're decently-priced, and I'll chalk this up to being a one-off. I just hope their selection is better next time. read more

Bought an 8 lb. bag of oranges yesterday and was uncertain about what I was getting...the oranges were not "pretty" but for $2.50 a bag, I figured there was not a lot invested should they taste like they looked. Awful fruits, certainly not taste like oranges at all. 2. Not juicy. A little strange bitter taste. No Orange taste. My family won't eat them. Now I got a giant bag of tasteless oranges. 3. They sold $13 for 25 Lb. bag, other vendors on same street sell $10 for same size bag. Consumers typically think we pay more for higher quality fruits. NOT AT ALL IN PAY MORE GET BETTER QUALITY. 4. Fresh Choice Market sells 4 Lb for $1.00 taste sweet & fresh. Don't be fool by Farm Stand off the street. They said due to pandemic won't allow to cut up an orange for try out. For those that don't know, it use to be like a large outdoor stand booth..don't really know how to describe it. I've gotten these a couple times now. They taste absolutely amazing; however, this most recent time, I got the large bag of oranges and a bunch of them had a significant mold burden on them. Initially I only found 1 or 2, but as I ate through the bag over 5-7 days, I eventually found a whole bunch in the center of the bag with mold. I called the store and they didn't do anything about it. Moral of the story... be careful what you buy there and don't buy the big bags. read more
