He has received treatment at several hospitals, but the best care and most encouraging progress has been at Trinity Neurologic Rehabilitation Center in Slidell, LA. Visited the facility this past weekend and I was VERY IMPRESSED!!! The staff is PHENOMENAL, they were attentive and engaged with every patient and their family members!!! Observing them makes me even more hopeful for a dramatic recovery for my nephew.

They always contact me if there are any concerns. Food is very good. She loves eating in the dining room with friends. She loves the daily news bulletin. She says it helps her plan her day. Then I had to deal with her arrogant, nasty attitude at each encounter. The first time I met her, I knocked on her office door and she was in there cooking breakfast!!! I am sure the licensing agency has not approved a kitchen (hotplate) to be used in her office but she was in there cooking sausage. Her office is on the same hall as patient rooms. Imagine a fire breaking out because the SW is cooking breakfast in her office. Each encounter with her was so tense and filled with attitude that it was very uncomfortable to interact with her unless it was completely necessary. My last encounter with her, I knocked on her door and said "good morning" and she didn't reply at all. She just stared at me. I chuckled and asked my questions, but I also let her know that she has an ugly attitude!!! If you can select any other facility, please do so. The nurses, aides, OT, and PT were professional, but Natasha, the SW, is not worth the aggravation and stress, so go somewhere else!!!

The sheets on the bed were nasty with a bad odor. The first four days they wouldn't let me get out of the bed. The nurses saw my back and told me this wasn't the place to be, that I could get sick, and it was not safe. I caught a staph infection because the nurses didn't always wear gloves. It was horrible, my entire back was mushy, red and hot. I was very sick and didn't know it until my back started stinking from all the infection. They had to call an ambulance and take me back to the hospital. I had to take very strong antibiotics for three months to get rid of the infection I had caught in this nasty place. This is the bottom of the barrel, as far as nursing homes go. Veterinarian clinic where I take my dogs are way cleaner than this. I wouldn't let anyone I know go in there, they may not come back out. This is the worst place you could put someone, please don't even consider it, it is horrible. I wouldn't have made it out alive, if I hadn't had people watching out for me. I didn't eat for two weeks because food was disgusting. This is worst of the worst, do not go in this place. There's nothing I could say good about it.
