Obviously he is very good and has many years of experience. He did an Ultrasound and two biopsies to decide for the best procedure. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything with patience the entire time. It is hard to understand all these medical terms but he had patience and made me feel as comfortable as I could feel. The first biopsy was pretty painless and over fast. The second one needed more specimen for a special DNA test and was a bit more uncomfortable but still totally fine. After results came back 60% probability for cancer he suggested to get only half of the thyroid removed. He also gave me the option to remove the whole thing because a lot of people choose that for peace of mind. I chose to remove half. My procedure was done at the Massachusetts Ave Surgery Center On surgery day he came to talk to me before the procedure. Explaining what's going to happen. He is so calm and professional it makes you feel better. Surgery went great. I woke up sore to swallow but ok. The first 3 days of recovery were sore and than pretty good after that. So I'd recommend to take 3-4 days off of work. The incision is healing up nice after a week and a half. It looks like the incision is going to be pretty nice and clean. I got stitches from this inside so no stitches scars to come. Yay Thank you Dr.Goicochea for taking care of me. I will recommend him to anyone that has to deal with Thyroid issues

After results came back, we scheduled surgery within 2 weeks and I was TERRIFIED however many of the nurses at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital let me know they have never seen incisions as clean and virtually unnoticeable as his. The surgery went very well, lasted about 3 hours (I was slightly a special case) I barely had a sore throat and resumed normal life the day after. His bedside manner is awesome and he definitely put me at ease as this was my first surgery. He has also worked on close family friends of mine and they all say the same of Dr. Goicochea! Unlike some doctors that rush to surgery before it is called for, Dr. Fisch employs a systematic approach to back pain that starts with physical therapy, progressing to epidural injections, and finally proceeding to surgery if all else fails to quell the pain. Every single time, he's gone above and beyond. His bedside manner is outstanding--he listens, explains things clearly, and genuinely cares about his patients. I have never waited more than 10 minutes to see him (kudos to his staff for running a well organized office and schedule for this busy doctor). He said it was nothing and prescribed an anti-inflammatory and rest. I took about a month off before I started training again, with no issues. I was training for the Marine Corps Marathon, got up to 15 miles, headed out for my 18 mile run and my knee gave out completely. I went back to see the doctor and he diagnosed me with tendinitis, prescribed PT and rest. I took 6 MONTHS off. I spent those 6 months in PT, following orders, doing exercises, etc. I saw him during a 3 month check up and he said I was making progress. When I was discharged from PT, I got the ok to start running again. For 3 months, I gradually built my running back up and got the ok to run a Half Marathon...the Nike Women's Half. At Mile 8, my knee gave out. I went to see a different doctor (Dr. Annunziata). He called for an MRI (something Dr. Pandarinath had never done) and diagnosed me with IT Band Syndrome...which has the complete opposite symptoms of tendinitis. A runner with a knee injury and you don't take an MRI? Even I questioned that. So, now it's May, I'm almost a year out from an injury that typically has a 6-8 week recovery time, and I'm just now starting to recover because of his misdiagnosis. Oh, and I would say his wait times were decent...except for that one time I waited for 90 minutes in his office and he never showed up.

I don't really understand what the problem is but they need to get it together. TLDR: highly recommend Dr Mitchum but bring a book or work laptop or something to do because you'll be here a WHILE.

I went to see Dr. Gazdag and he was wonderful. He was funny and an excellent professional. We took more X-rays, so if you see a light in Rockville, it is just me glowing at night. I am in a boot and a cane, but no surgery needed. Amen! The people who work with Dr. Gazdag and Ortho Bethesda were awesome. They were very nice and helpful. I am incredibly disappointed and hurt by the lack of care and empathy at this office. I had an…read more11:00 AM appointment but got stuck in an hour of beltway traffic due to an accident. I called ahead and was told there was a 15-minute grace period. I walked in at 11:16 AM, and Dr. Parikh flat-out refused to see me, providing zero explanation or flexibility for being one minute late. As a first-time expectant mom, these appointments mean the world to me. To be turned away after an hour of stressful driving was heartbreaking, but the attitude of the staff made it worse. The receptionists were completely unsympathetic and acted like I was a bother. A little kindness or a simple smile would have gone a long way, especially since turning me away means waiting another three weeks for an appointment. I ultimately decided not to reschedule. This experience completely ruined my trust in this practice, and I will not be returning.

I had a weird skin grown on my hand and his recommendation was to use more lotion. WTF?! I need medication for ADHD. none of the other formulations have worked for me in the past, so for a whole I gave up. I recently went back and requested the same exact medication that my kids use. It works well for them. He wanted to start me off at a very low dose. I informed him that dosage was even lower than what my daughter uses, and she weighs less than a third of what I weigh. I may not be a doctor, but I do know simple, chemistry, body weight matters in regards to chemicals and medication. He refused and started me at 15 mg. My very small daughter takes 20. I don't blame him for this next part. The insurance company refused to pay for it without prior authorization, despite them having been paying for this stud for my kids for the last few years. But I do blame him for not wanting to do the prior authorization. It's a simply bloody fax. When I went back this week for my 30 day follow up, I requested to have 30 mg. He tells me it's going to require prior authorization again because he's changing the dosage and if they ask for prior authorization again, he can't do it because he doesn't have the manpower. It takes too much effort. His exact damn words. I said to him, I told you this would be a problem. I told you I wanted to start at 30 to begin with. He snapped at me and tells me if I raise my voice at him he's going to kick me out. Mind you, I wasn't yelling. But of course, a black person being upset is like yelling at a non-black person. We are always perceived as a threat. Time to find a new doctor.
