It was quick and easy to get a library card. They always have the books I am looking for in stock. I love how easy it is to return books.

The WORST library around the area where some people do not give two cents about they are in library. They treat library as a market or social place where they can meet others and exchange life experiences. No whisper at all...I would feel so embarrassed if i talk normally in a library. Please have some common courtesy and respect others in the library. Where do those people learn their manners? Given Glendora is a great city with higher avg income per household, I expect better than the existing behaviors from those people. read more

Their hours are too short, they should be open 10am- 8pm , Monday through Saturday. At present, they're open Thursday through Saturday,10am- 5pm only, and people need to use the computers there. Monday through Wednesday,10am-8pm, just for these days isn't enough! This, plus not fixing their equipment,like copiers and the computers in a timely manner is another bugaboo. Noisy library. Too much going on and nobody regulates noise. Staff having loud conversations at front desk. Tutors teaching 2-5 year olds, shouting as if the child isn't right in front of them. read more

I have been keeping track of reviews and I don't think libraries, other than at the universities, are supposed to be quiet anymore. We have been going here for summer movie events, library story times, summer reading programs, etc. Even checking out books is great with the reservation service. The staff has always been excellent. I just wish they could share resources with other libraries when certain books are hard to find. Otherwise, they're great. read more

This is my first and last time coming here. It's so LOUD! The staff almost doesn't seem to care that they're at work at a LIBRARY!!!! What happened to inside voices and a quiet place to study. Wow, lots of books from newspapers to magazines. I love coming to this library when I lived in the area years ago. The library is in the Downtown area of Glendora. It is next to the Police station and Post Office. So do not come to this public library with any shady activities. I love this place, Staff are helpful and cool here. Lots of resources for children and adults here. I miss coming to this library. read more

WI FI is horrible and goes in and out every couple of minutes. This is not a quiet setting. 90% of the noise comes from the loud staff at the front desk and the back office to the extreme rear. I was able to hear two office workers laughing, talking loudly, and having a good time with their door shut. I was on the other side of the library. No traditional quiet, library etiquette exists there which makes it hard to concentrate. read more

This library is great place to sit down do your work or just read books. They have nice private quite study benches which are first come basis. They have a collection of books but I felt the books are not exhaustive and other libraries in the area may have more books. They have a book store too. read more

My one and only complaint about this library are the librarians!!! Why do they talk so freaking loud!!! EVERY. FREAKING. TIME. I come here, they're so loud. Everyone else is quietly reading and studying and they're at the front desk laughing and gossiping SO LOUDLY. I'll try to find a place to study at the furthest end of the library and I can still hear them talking and laughing, so clearly they're being too loud and others should be annoyed as well. Whatever happened to indoor voices and whispering? Librarians of all people should know this. Smh read more

Libraries are having a bit of a hard time now but this one stands above the rest. Certainly there is less selection than in times past, people don't respect quiet as much as they used to, and electronic services are taking over but this is still an excellent library and worth visiting and giving a try. A very spacious library that is consistently organized and clean. The library staff are always courteous and kind. They have an extensive music section, free Wi-Fi, and a sufficient amount of parking on the back side of the library. read more

This is a great library and I am happy to report it is now OPEN EVERYDAY now at 10am. For awhile they were on some furlough thing (you know, because we employed-homeowner Californians aren't paying our share) where some days they didn't open till 1pm, and of course, I was always there in the a.m. ON THAT DAY.. ugh. But no more. Yippee. They always have what I am looking for, and there is plenty of wide open spaces to sit your butt down and read, relax, read all the latest magazines, etc. There are some noisy teens over by the YA section sometimes, but so what, at least they are IN A LIBRARY, right? Good for them- having fun in the library. Also appearing daily: the requisite homeless person stinkin' up the general area they are sitting in, but hey , its a free country, right? This library is a good, cheap place to park it awhile. read more

This review is for Mrs. Marcy and Mrs. Rebecca and the children's library programs. Mrs. Marcy is a wonderful librarian who is Always smiling! She exudes joy and is professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind, creative, and sincere! She runs the summer reading challenge, science camp, art camp, and fantastic scavenger hunts. She loves her job and it shows as she ignites the love for reading in children! The library is very lucky to have such a fantastic leader who is Always happy to see her customers. Mrs, Rebecca is also always smiling and cheerful! She is a very special children's librarian with her excitement in recommending books for the appropriate age. She describes books as though she is a part of them because she has so much experience reading as well as the experience working with the children's department! She is always patient in answering questions and makes the parents and the children feel very special every time you visit the library ! Both of these ladies make it a pleasure to be a part of the Glendora Library ! They also offer programs throughout the year and fun interactive activities, contests, and more! This is the worst library I've ever been to. I dread coming to this place but I only put up with it to print copies. This place does not know how to tell people to be quiet like other libraries do. Every time I study it's like studying at an amusement park (if that's even possible). I could never focus here! Kids scream left and right like a childcare! And the adults are just as worse especially when it comes to the computers. I've been here where people have actually cussed each out over a computer and the librarians just watch. Don't ever bother studying here because you'll find yourself walking right out within 10 minutes. This place is a waste of time! Even studying at Barnes and Nobles is better than this place and that's not an actual library! read more

A wonderful library! As a mom and former HS English teacher I can say with certainty this library is top notch! The children's section is one of the largest and most diverse I have seen in my many trips to different libraries (they are currently expanding further). There are story times throughout the week in the mornings and evenings. The storytellers do a great job of keeping the children's attention with songs, games, sharing, and of course, reading. After story time corresponding coloring sheets are available. There are four computers with great toddler software. The children's area is kept clean and organized; a definate plus. As for the adults, computers are available for card holders to search the internet (it's a little difficult to get an available computer after 3pm), you can also borrow a laptop to use that day in the library, wi fi is also available for personal laptops as well. All the sections seem full of great literature, DVDs, music, etc. There are also no rental fees for DVDs, videos, CDs or other media. The librarians are very helpful and great with my kids. Upstairs is a very well kept and cheap used book store that sells used books from library donations. The library also has many activities and events for all ages; story time, teen activities, craft classes, educational forums, etc. read more

(Wow, my first review!) Now that Gavin's a year old and is beginning to notice more things, I thought I would stoke the flames of his curiosity and take him to Wednesday Nite Story Time at the Glendora Public Library since our family friend Deb is the storyteller! So last night after work, I picked up Gavin from daycare, fed him dinner, took a super-quick shower (I had gone to the gym before picking him up), got ourselves dressed in our favorite PJ's and headed over to the library. The Children's Section of the library was already full at 7:00 p.m. (which is when story time starts) and out came Deb clad in her bedtime best armed with books to read and songs to sing! Deb got the kids warmed up by singing a welcome song and then invited those who brought favorite toys, books, etc. to share to come to the front for a show-and-tell session. Once the show-and-tell was done, Deb jumped right into the first book. While reading the story, she got everyone involved by adding a few extra touches such as including a play-by-play commentary on the characters in the book, asking what they would do in the character situation, and having them imitate the sounds that the characters make (like a pirate's "Arrgh!"). Then when the story was finished, Deb led the kids in another song or play activity before going into the second book. That night, a total of three books were read and Deb had her audience hanging on every word! Story time ended at 7:30 (yes, can you believe Deb squeezes in all this activity in only half an hour??) at which point Deb and her loyal followers sing the good-bye song. Even though Gavin didn't quite comprehend what was going on, he still enjoyed watching his Auntie Deb tell stories and even participated in some of the songs, esp. the one that included musical bells! Wednesday Nite Story Time is a great mid-week activity for both kids and parents alike and I know that when Gavin's a little older, he'll look forward to Wednesdays! This library is pretty awesome. At about 4:45PM on a Friday afternoon one of the workers just walked to the middle of the library and SCREAMED out "THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSING IN 15 MINUTES!!!" This place lets you know what's up. LOVE it. read more

If it weren't for the after workhours cutback, thanks Glendora City Council, I would give it a 5 star rating. In tough times, now is the time the community needs this type of service "to give back to the citizens". Here is where government loses my respect. I can think of a few services we can do without - three layers of management - a city manager, assistant city manager, deputy city manager... for a town of 50,000. Please.... I love this place, and I really appreciate the volume of ebooks I can check out for FREE, and it is yours FREE for 14 days with a renewal option. Cool, eh! Lots more audio book choices currently on-line. The staff shows their positive pride anytime you call or visit. The magazines are top notch, as well as the electronic media. The book selection is upgraded as funding comes and goes. The real gem is secretly located upstairs. A bookstore with an on-going change-out of inventory, including rare classics and new releases. You can even buy Glendora Public Library books from the Friends Foundation group's Amazon and Ebay postings. Glendorans are readers and share their donated books, so it is worth saving lots of bucks by visiting their amazing store. The computer bay is really popular, so come early. The gardens are well-marked and kept up which makes me happy, too. A nice, quiet bench is welcoming on the backside of the building. You know the community supports this place, as donor wall proves it! It is not your grandmother's type of library, it is actually hip. Go to the night on the plaza in July and bid for the diamonds, and you will be feeling extra hipness and bonus kindness, too. read more

I love love this place. When my son was 4 weeks old I started taking him to the Mother Goose storytime. Mrs Cindy is the best with kids. We continued to go until my son was not into it (I think an age thing) and we stopped going to storytime, but continue to go to the library and the events. Internet connection is FAST - love it. been to several other libraries with slow connections but Glendora is really update. You're average library. Study nooks, computers, and homeless sleeping in the corner.. feels like home. I'll add a star because it's actually quite here. I respect that. It's quiet and serves it's purpose. I'm not from the area so I can't compare it to any other local libraries. In my opinion it's a little dingy... I guess most libraries from the 70s are. Too bad they didn't have A. Quincy Jones designing the building (my second all time favorite architecture). That would be dope. If you need a place to study then this is it. One thing that sucks: there's a two person minimum if you want a private study room. Forever alone. Staff were really helpful. Even the ones that were not on the clock. I was outside having a smoke break and was reading one of the signs... and this staff lady just grabbed my ass. Jk.. she came up and asked if I had any questions and talked about the locations where i can study. real nice of her. Yea, come here and study. Take a nap do what you gotta do. read more

This library is great for studying! They have large tables in the main area, a quiet area with single-person desks, study rooms that you can check out for 2-hour time limits, and comfortable chair seating in random areas where the books are. The wifi is fast and free-access too! All the components necessary for studying. read more

Looking for an open library on Monday? Well the Glendora Public Library is open! I recently made my first visit here and enjoyed my whole experience. First of all, the library ranks among one of the nicest ones in the area. The library is located next to the Glendora city hall and police station. There is both public and street parking available. The mission of the library is to enrich the community by connecting people to the world of information, to support their personel growth and education. I was somewhat surprised of how many people were making use of the library and its resources. The library is spaced very well and has a very open design. The tables are great for studying and the lighting here is perfect. The have books, books, and more books. They are available in paperback, e-books, and audio books on cd. The computers are very new and available on a sign up basis. This library also has a great children's area with plenty of children's books. The staff here is very friendly and approachable. The facility is both very clean and nicely organized. I will definitely be using this library more often. read more

This is a nice cozy library that just feels so homey. It's not huge, but there's enough tables w/ plugs to work on for this small city. And it has fast wifi! I used to go to the Arcadia Public Library and the internet there was so painful that I couldn't get anything done. The first time I was here, I was reading reviews about the screaming lady who announces that the library's about to close. Then it happened. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. I must not have got the memo where it states "Libraries are no longer a place of quiet." To start off with the staff don't even know how to keep their voices down. I've come here multiple times and the staff talk loudly with people asking for help with finding books. Grown adults (and no I'm not referring to the disabled patrons) come in here having loud conversations and take phone calls in the library where they speak loudly as if they are in their home. The staff does nothing to ask these people to keep their voices down which I'm not surprised since they can't even keep their own voices down. The so called quiet space in the back usually have homeless people there sleeping and snoring loudly. read more

It's a good library minus the noises due to over crowdedness. If you are there to study, I suggest finding a spot around the outskirts of the library with signs that states "quiet area". There is no cell phone reception there so if you are thinking to tether don't bother. I have not yet checked out the books available then again, I'm only here to study and do some work. read more

The public library in GLENDORA is so rich and full of interesting books and revues plus quit atmosphere for studying , very organized and clean desks , it attracted my eyes for new subjects to read and benefit of due to it is books variety, the employees are very friendly and helpful , and a lot of interesting activities for kids and workshops that develop the skills of young readers. It has offers reasonable studying hours every day , it is a must visit activity to all the people living in The area. It is very equipped with computers and free wifi all the studying tools, when I want a quit focused atmosphere I definitely go there read more

I live two blocks from this library, and I would consider an afternoon spent browsing books to be a glorious day, but I don't love this library. Their selection of newer titles is not excellent and I don't like the vibe here. I drive to San Dimas or La Verne LA County libraries instead. read more

Although this is a public library with free Wi-Fi it is not a strong or stable connection. I need to finish a project for school and I need quiet space with free Wi-Fi for my chromebook. It is certainly not to par. I can't say how many times the internet kicked me out and I had to re-start my session by logging back in and accepting their terms of acceptance. Unfortunately, the quiet space I hoped for will need to be found some else with a stable Wi-Fi connection. I certainly was not productive here! Sorry Glendora Library.
