I must say that the alcohol selection at Glendale is always on point. They have a wide variety of wines, beers, liquors for everyone. Their prices are very reasonable and I really like the fact that if you pay cash your products will be even cheaper. The staff I've encountered there are good, they keep everything well stocked and I'm sure they get a lot of customers especially during the holidays. We all need something to drink when hosting a family gathering, visiting the extended family or maybe you just want to enjoy yourself and have a drink after a long day at work. So if you are ever in the area and you want good alcohol for affordable prices plus cash discounts then this is place for you. Sometimes I have seen better prices there than at the local winery or brewery so it definitely doesn't hurt to check them out! read more

First timer : ordered pizza for a bday party and it was good. We ordered garlic breads and surprisingly it was soft and tasted awesome . Nice and quick customer service . Ordered it online and picked it up. Everything was ready and hot when we went to pick up. Tried cheese pizza and pineapple /olive/ jalapeño pizza. It was good. Parking is good . Wine selection is minimal.. don't go if you're looking for a bottle of wine that costs more than 70.00

The store was hosting a delicious sampling of canned cocktails! The packaging was so beautiful and unique, which matched the taste of each cocktail ! Junglee cocktails! They are based out of New Jersey! I felt like I needed to support the brand, a start up based out of my home state! The price wasn't bad for a 4 pack! Real ingredients and real alcohol, not that malt liquor which is in many canned cocktails. Junglee also has 7% alcohol! The woman doing the tasting said there is another tasting at the store on Saturday February 17th, 12-2pm. I bought the Tamarind Margarita, which contains Tequila! The other two contain gluten free vodka! Great cocktail! The other prices at the store are reasonable for wines and hard liquors! I will be back soon! It is nice to be offered a sample of alcohol at a store after a long day in the office! The store needs some music, but maybe they turned it off for the cocktail tasting. The pricing for cash purchases still seems competitive. I usually go to another liquor store, but this one is next door to the farmer's market I frequent, so I stopped in last week. One of the other reviewers here seems to have had a very similar experience to mine. The cashier, with an InfoWars hat and an InfoWars mask (which kept falling off...not great, Bob) launched into a racist screed about protests and flag burning and disrespecting the Constitution (???) - I hadn't said a word. When I could get a word in edgewise, I told him I disagreed with him, and he responded with "let me tell you, girl". That was enough. I still feel bad for not warning off the black woman who was walking in while I was walking out. I'll never shop there again - whether the owner feels this way or he just allows his employees to spew this BS from his establishment, it's not okay - there are plenty of other places to buy your booze. read more

Glendale is a great liquor store for one main reason, it's huge. Whatever it is you're looking for, there is a high likelihood you will find it here as the place looks and feels more like a warehouse than a liquor store. Whether rum, wine, champagne or beer, I'm always able to find what I'm looking for. If I can't find it, there is undoubtedly another option that is comparable or even better. Not the most organized store, but if you're will to spend a little time looking, you'll be successful. The staff is a rotating line of younger people who aren't the most knowledgeable of what's in the store. This is made up for by the fact that you can find just about everything is in the store. I waited until I had three consecutive negative experiences before I posted. Let me say that I have been coming to Glendale for at least 8 years. It's always been my favorite store - great selection, unparalleled customer service. It was one of the remaining truly community institutions that exist. That all changed in late 2019/early 2020, when new owners took over. I'll state here that I can only speak to the main guy at the register, not to the owners specifically. But because the owners place this man at the front end, my review applies to the store as a whole. Before the new plexiglass was installed, the owners placed an InfoWars sticker in front of the main register. I don't know about you, but I am not interested in being assailed by political propaganda when I am making a transactional nature in a store. I ignored this. Then as this man was checking us out, he proceeds to ask me if I know about Alex Jones and how he's such a smart man who comes from a good family but liberals are afraid of hearing the truth, blah blah blah. I asked him whether he thought discussing his political views with customers was appropriate. He tells me it's good for business and that people like when he does that. He continues on bragging about how he doesn't know if I know but Indians are so wealthy (have no idea what this has to do with the conversation), especially in New Jersey. He has made these - and other epically inappropriate comments and questions about our ethnicity/nationality so I have officially quit going to this store and I have told many others about this. I come to this business to make a transaction - I do not need a dose of politics in my face while I do so, especially after I have said many times that I do not agree and do not want to discuss further. Viking Liquor is closed temporarily but we have been going to Wegman's, Trader Joe's, and Bottle King in the meantime. So sad because Glendale used to be one of my favorite establishments in South Brunswick and I will never go back. read more

HORRIBLE, This used to be a favorite Liquor store before it changed hands, so great,different owners& styles.. ok.. but NO.. Thought maybe after awhile the new owner would shake things out . NOPE. UNWELCOMING. UNHELPFUL. First tried to play some lottery numbers and the guy would not read the numbers off the ticket to enter them in machine even tho NO-ONE was in the store and No one was waiting, just rude and dismissive. No lotto ticket papers to write them out on either... I was gonna get 2 grey goose an a Patron. Nahhh. Spend my money where people are pleasant. Perhaps start acting like you WANT customers instead of like we are privileged to enter your establishment. Way to many other places to go with better prices and attitudes. read more

Former patron of this establishment.... the reason I say former is due to the current ownership.... I used to come in on a monthly basis to buy my angry orchard hard cider there, but they never had a 6 pack, so I would ask a young staff member if they had any in stock, and he got to know that I wasn't fussy about it, so he'd take a cold 12 pack, cut the box in half and duct tape it so the bottles stayed inside the container. After they changed hands, I decided to try it out. Hey, can't judge a book by it cover right? I wish I had read the reviews.... oh dear... I walked in and I was SHOCKED at the state of the store. Boxes everywhere, etc... I almost wanted to just turn around and leave, but I was having a social distancing event... and I know I have a few fans of angry orchard coming. So I walk to the back where they are stored... yes, you guessed it. Still no 6 pack of regular angry orchard. So I inquired about having a box of 12 cut and I received a VERY rude "we don't do that. You need to buy the twelve pack and divide it yourself." Well! I was just taken by surprise. Fortunately an older gentlemen that worked there before remembered me and told the rude person that I was a "long time customer" I got my 6 pack, but they've lost a long time customer! To anyone in the Kendall Park area, STAY AWAY! go to Vingo down the street! They might not have the selection of this place, but the service? Outstanding! Also, I'm pretty much libertarian on my political party... I don't care either way, but I'm down for a good debate... however.... DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN RELIGION INTO IT! Glendale is the best place for selection and price; hands down! They've got a wide range of wines (and all alcohols for that matter), and I have not been able to beat their prices! Oh.. and the service? My God! They're incredible there, especially Bart. His knowledge of wines and friendly service is astounding. Not only does he help you with incredible selections in your budget and tastes, but he is also quick to help out the community. I can not say enough about the place. When i talked to the new owner he argued with me and told me "they are just above cost". Went down the road and the same bottles of bubbly were 15% cheaper. I wont be back again. read more

I have been a customer of Glendale Liquor for many years. The workers were always peasant and helpful. The new new owners are the same, however, during a recent visit I noticed an employee not wearing a mask. I pointed it out to him and his reply was that wearing a mask is just a hoax. It is of no consequence. This is absurd! All employees should be instructed to practice safe practices. I don't want this virus to rebound in NJ. read more

I miss the old owners of this place. This store had the best selection and best prices but since the ownership changed, it's definitely gone downhill. I've never felt so uncomfortable shopping here in my life... there was one cashier who felt the need to tell me all his political beliefs for no reason. I just wanted to buy my wine and leave, not have a political debate. He also made a comment on my hair (which I bleached blonde from black) and told me that I should go back to my natural hair color because I looked like a liberal and I should be the alpha dog who sleeps with tons of women. What the hell was that all about??? Yeah I'm never shopping here again. I regret buying those bottles of wine and not just walking out. I get along with people of all beliefs but to attack someone, who happens to be a paying customer, out of nowhere is uncalled for and terrible for business. What's up Kendall Park! When I was a kid, I used to always go roller skating in Kendall Park at that run down strip mall that was just a roller skating rink and a bowling alley. Never did go bowling for some reason. I think it's because all the kids in middle school thought it would be totally awesome and unique to have a roller skating party because they had this old disco ball in the middle of the rink and every once in a while turned off the lights and had on some colored lights flashing around. But I think it's closed now. A real loss for the Kendall Park and associated areas. Instead, you can drink away your sorrow by swinging by Glendale Liquor. And the classic run-down NJ strip mall in which Glendale Liquor is located can remind you of the beauteous strip mall that once contained the Kendall Park roller skating rink. The prices are cheap and they have lots of blurbs from fancy magazines like "Wine Spectator" and "Winos-R-Us" about the fruitiness and dryness of the various wines so you can buy one and pretend you know what you're doing by repeating the quotes to your friends as you drink and reminisce about roller skating in 5th grade. read more

Wow, the prices there are great. I just moved to the area and thought that Vingo's would have the best prices because of their size - but I was wrong. While most stores give you a discount for buying by the case, this place just applies the same discount to each bottle. The people seemed friendly there too. This place will definitely be my liquor store from now on. read more

I placed an order online (at wineclicker.com) because they had great pricing on some delicious '09 beaujolais. When the shipment arrived, one bottle was cracked. I notified them by email and they immediately sent a return shipping label. Once they received the cracked bottle, they shipped out a replacement. Now THAT'S what I call excellent customer service. AB FAB wine selection. all the price ranges/varietals are well represented and the manager is a pleasant, knowledgeable bloke who has yet to steer us wrong. unless he selling us lottery tickets. they have ALL been losers. liquor is another story. although they carry all the usual suspects, that's pretty much the end of it. no pint sized anything whatsoever but they stock a respectable beer cooler, including jesus' favorite beer, "samual smith's beer for the incredibly rich and famous". yum, as far as i can recall. it's been a LONG time since i could afford it. which brings us to the ambrosia of the nearly destitute- gruet methode champaignoise. it's gooder than a sharp stick in the eye. and that's the truth. i'm gonna get me some right now. glendale's staff is a friendly bunch that will help carry your purchases out to your idling get away vehicle. but they don't know ANYTHING about winning the lottery. which in retrospect is probably a good thing as we'd just spend it all on gruet and more lottery tickets. read more
