When we met Glenda Moase, we never knew what a blessing in disguise she would be in our lives later on. At that time, we were Sri Lankan newcomers to Canada, faced with the double daunting task of buying a house within the boundary of a certain school. My husband had found his first job in Guelph and was travelling daily from Brampton where we lived, which made it even harder. We knew next to nothing about Guelph except that its old-world charm and serenity were tugging at our heartstrings as it reminded us so much of our beloved Sri Lankan hill capital, Kandy. I still remember the very first phone call from Glenda. I felt as if I had just spoken with somebody I knew. When I met her two weeks later, I got to know what a warmhearted lady she was.
