Amazing place! Grandchildren always have a great time when we come here. From making pizzas, to the ice cream parlor, ambulance and the new fort area. Their imaginations and play are refreshing to watch. Just watching them be children, play, laugh and use their imagination takes me back before tablets took over. I definitely recommend this place for parents and Grandparents to take their precious ones to.

Cool museum. Not the best but it is hard to compete with the museum of natural history that is nearby. This place did have some cool art and this temporary tricerotops though. This museum is more for kids as an entire floor is a playground type thing. It is called a children museum so it makes sense. It is also on riverwalk which is one if the most beautiful river walks in the entire country

So much for "The maximum visitor capacity of the Glazer Children's Museum is 350 for standing events and 250 for seated events."

That's how many field trips visitors were at the museum today. It didn't feel safe at all. We turned around and left 5 minutes in. So much for "The maximum visitor capacity of the Glazer Children's Museum is 350 for standing events and 250 for seated events." Not sure who these rules are for. Regretting getting a membership since it keeps happening every week

Glazer's Children Museum is a great venue to take your children to if you're ever in the heart of downtown Tampa, Florida. It's in a great location, sitting between the Tampa-Hillsborough Public Library, Tampa Museum of Art, and the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. So while making the Glazer's Museum the main event, you can take your children to the park or along the Tampa Riverwalk afterwards. With the William F Poe (Poe) Parking Garage conveniently located next to it, you can enjoy a relatively hassle-free drive to the venue. You pay for the parking up front. While there is no parking fee waive with the museum, you're spending approximately $3 an hour for parking that has overhead protection and is fairly secured. Like most other children's museums around the nation, Glazer's is suited for toddlers to children approximately 5 years of age. The themes and areas may not necessarily be appealing to anyone older than that. And like most other children's museums, the areas and "exhibits" are centered around the aspects of daily life (such as supermarkets, doctors, veterinarians, farms, etc.) With that being said, the Glazer's Children Museum is a spacious three-stories in size. I came here with my youngest on a Saturday, and while there was a steady stream of families through the venue, I never felt too cramped or crowded. On the first floor, you'll find a small store along with a food court area. There is also a rather large elevator to accommodate multiple families with strollers which is quite nice. It is also where you will find the first museum area/exhibit. It is a sizeable water exhibit so the kids naturally gravitate toward it. Prepare to get wet, but have no fear they do provide a limited number of splash bibs! There is also a set of stairs that ranges all the levels of the museum, if you don't want to use the elevator. What immediately stands out with the Glazer's Children Museum over most other children's museums is the hanging "climber" (essentially a transparent maze of various level platforms that your child can safely navigate through) and a section on the second floor, aptly named "Forts" (this is where your kids can essentially play and build forts from the usual household furniture and furnishings. The third floor is dedicated to their dinosaur/Triceratops exhibits. It's actually pretty cool if you find yourself geeking out over dinos. Also with the reciprocal membership from another venue, admission to Glazer's in the month of October was entirely free. Overall, a great place to visit at least once with your young children!

Fun museum for kids 6 and younger. Our older kids enjoyed the climbing space but other than that not much for them. My little one had a blast. There are plenty of interactive spaces but they also feel like you do it once it is not worth coming back unless you have a 1-3yr old. We had a free pass due to reciprocity with our Dali Museum passes for the month of August. Otherwise I don't think I would make the drive from Orlando. It is clean, plenty of hand sanitizing spaces and kid friendly bathrooms. There is one main elevator which is very slow and a bit chaotic with kids and parents jostling for a spot. Park your stroller downstairs if possible and use the stairs if you can and don't want to spend a long time waiting for the elevator.

Nice little children's museum for a rainy day activity. Some of the interactive areas are a bit small so it can get a bit chaotic when there are a lot of kids there all at once. The pretend grocery store, restaurants, farm, doctors office, and fire stations offer lots of little activities. The dinosaur exhibit on the 3rd floor will be a hit for any Dino lovers. The water area also offers lots of fun interactive experience as well. I do wish they would keep their hand sanitizers refilled though. It was tough to track one down that still had some left so make sure to BYOS. We were lucky to snag a street parking spot but there weren't many of them. There is a parking garage next door though.

Waiting to check out at Publix. This area needs upgrades.

This is a nice Children's museum. There's a variety of stimulating activities from a giant climbing tree to theater to a hospital with a CT scanner. They can go shopping at Publix and farming. They can go dig up a dinosaur. They can steer a ship through water as the rain comes down. My daughter had a great time. There are some things that are broken and need attention/mending. The Publix area needs more shopping carts and more food for sure and they need to have staff there to ensure kids put things back. It's basically a mess there. Overall this is a fun kids museum to spend a few hours (we were here about 3 total including a lunch break). I would come back.

First time at this museum and WoW! A very underwhelming museum lots of space and not enough exhibits! At least 50% of everything here is broken! The kids spent most of the time on the second floor playing with the vet, doctor, grocery store, ice cream shop, and the fire department play areas. I tried to interact with some of the learning things in this same area, but the interactive levers knobs and everything else were broken in this area. The kids did have fun in the acting area changing different outfits behind the curtain, the newer Forts exhibit was a let down, again wasted space. The water table, however cool the plastic floating pieces used to channel the water float away and the pieces to block or channel water flow for learning purposes doesn't work and is also broken. I looked at my wife and I said, the Gainesville Museum is half the size of this museum, but has more stuff that isn't broken. Upon leaving my kids were excited to see what the gift shop offered, but were sad to find a small sad little "trolley closet cart" for the gift shop. This is a huge afterthought given the size of this museum and what it could offer. A small café was also underwhelming but decently priced. **Overall. Not too impressed with this museum. I wish it had more to offer. Just a single dinosaur exhibit is also a waste of space on the 3rd floor they could add so much more and move the dinosaur exhibit to the first floor.

Our charter service brings thousands of school age children to experience the awesomeness of the Glazer Children's Museum! Everyone is excited to go and even more so after the trip! If you haven't been, take your kids! Grand kids too!

Fantastic Experience - A Must-Visit for Families! We had such a great time at Glazer Children's Museum! My kids had an absolute blast exploring all the exhibits and activities--it's the kind of place where learning and fun go hand in hand. The staff was wonderful--engaged, friendly, and clearly passionate about creating a great experience for the kids. I'd definitely recommend arriving early--it gets busy fast, and for good reason! It's a popular spot, and once you're inside, you'll see why. Everything is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity and creativity. A fantastic place to spend the day with your little ones--we'll absolutely be back!

I've never been to the children's museum or was aware that there was nearby in downtown Tampa. Best parking is the garage next door, William Poe Parking. They charge via app or by your license plate. Parking was tight and full even though we arrived 10 minutes before opening. It's also parking for the art museum next door and the library. I would advise to come early for a good parking spot. Upon entrance, you'll notice the self serve food area and the first attraction is the water play area. There's also a climbing area but the steps were too steep for small children so we passed. Second floor had the stores, farms, and all you can think of. Third floor was closed so we didn't get to see the other attractions that were there. I don't know if it's always been that way or if they're remodeling but it was off limits. It was very busy, even going as they opened up but it was fun and there was plenty to do. I would definitely go again!

Big John the triceratops! You can learn all about him on the third floor!

Really loved the open floor plan on the first floor. Made it great to let kiddos run around while being able to keep a decent eye on them! Three floor of great activities for all different kinds of interests! Loved how there were employees spread out being helpful and watching kids. I felt very safe letting my kids run around a play! I'm only giving it 4 stars because one of my children is wheelchair bound and there weren't a lot of wheelchair accessible options but we made it work!

We were here on a rainy cool Saturday so it was extremely busy. But it was a great spot. The exhibits were really interactive. We especially loved the part of the Dino where you could draw your own, scan it, and have it show up in the projector. My kids are 3 and 6 and we'd return.

Are strollers or pushable wagons allowed?

Yes and No some days you can and some days you can't

Can you exit for lunch and come back within the same day?

Yes, you will receive a wristband for the day and can come and go all day long. Thanks!

Is the first floor open? December 21, 2018?

As of a few weeks ago it was not. Save your money and go to the Orlando Science Museum -- It is significantly larger and the kids will have a much better time; can easily spend all day there.

Is it worth taking my 18 month old there? We're an hour and 30 minutes away. So just wondering if it's worth the drive? Thanks in advance!

I would wait until age 2

How long does it normally take to go through the museum? I'm wondering how much time to allow. What's the average time spent there?

Hi Maribel, it really depends on the child's age and interests. Two to three hours is a decent estimation, but many kids enjoy staying longer!

There are also two indoor areas, including an animatronic dinosaur display, and skeleton display. Going further are various areas of static dinosaur statues, with plenty of dinosaurs to see. There is also a mammoth area as well. You can easily spend an hour or two just seeing the displays. They also added an animatronic dinosaur band, which is very similar to Chuck E Cheese. Staff are friendly and very helpful, but I wish there were more to explain the dinosaurs and displays. While most of the area and activities are free, there are some additional costs for other activities. If you want to do fossil excavation and the train ride, that cost extra and you can buy a package for them. There is also a dinosaur scooter ride for 5 dollars, which your can ride a dinosaur shaped scooter around an area for 3 minutes. It's similar to the animal scooters you see at the malls.
