Doing a self wash, I didn't know that when using a credit card, there is no timer. You just put…read moreyour card in and it charges you by the minute, I believe. Then I moved the dial to power rinse and the vacuum came on so I tried normal rinse and it worked. After I used the normal rinse cycle, the attendant came by and told me that you have to make sure the dial 'clicks' when you turn it to the action you want. Then I had to hand dry my vehicle (luckily I had my own rags). I paid $8.25 for a wash and rinse that a car wash closer to me charges for a wash, rinse, and dry without having to get out of the car and the vacuums are free. I like to support the mom and pop type businesses in my area but when its as expensive as a bigger chain and you're doing the work, it's hard to justify. The attendant was very nice, tho.

I am now taking the car back to my detailer to fix the paint. It literally looks like they used a Scotchbrite pad to wash the car. The wheels were a mess. I cant imagine they were cleaned. I had to wash them myself when I got home. Inside of the door jambs were all water spotted and looked unwashed. I cannot recommend The Thumb Car Wash.

As you can see from the pictures the top of all 4 windows of my vehicle were not touched. He had the keys and was able to roll them down to be cleaned, he just didn't i guess. The passenger side glove box still has visible dirt/ dust marks. There are many small circular liquid specs on my center console and dashboard. Grease/ liquid marks on the back door. His 400$ detail also includes the engine bay to be cleaned but he thought that mine was "clean enough already" so he told me he skipped that part all together, still making the price out to be $400. I don't think that was the right thing to do. There was really nothing special about this detail compared to the standard $250 detailing in my opinion.
