Our experience with Glamour Ride Limousines was extremely distressing.
Multiple payments totalling more than $8,000 were deducted from our account before we were provided with a full invoice. After amounts well outside our budget had already been taken, we tried to negotiate in good faith to reach a price we could manage. We were repeatedly told that drivers had already been paid, which left us feeling pressured and with little practical option other than to raise the matter with our bank.
Two weeks before our wedding, our booking was then cancelled. At that stage, a further payment of more than $2,000 was sought from us after we had gone to our bank regarding the earlier deductions. Despite having paid substantial amounts, the service was ultimately not provided.
After trying to seek reimbursement for services we paid for but did not receive, I posted a Google review. That same evening, at 11:19pm, I received a concerns notice from the company's solicitor alleging defamation.
I also became aware that the owner had searched for both my partner and me on LinkedIn. I found this deeply unsettling and inappropriate. As a woman using LinkedIn for professional purposes, discovering that the owner of a company I was already in dispute with had sought out my personal profile felt intrusive and added another layer of distress to an already upsetting experience.
Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage others to keep detailed records of all communications, invoices and payments when dealing with this company. read more
