Ms. Lintner retired in January then he started seeing Dr. Patel. The office staff has always been difficult, but lately it became unbearable. They never respond to messages left on the answering machine. The pharmacy never gets a response when a refill request is sent to the office. It doesn't matter whether it is faxed in or called in. We managed to deal with it until D. Patel started giving my husband dangerous advise, then we got him a new primary care doctor.

The funny thing is, she turned away my daughter who was new to the area because she *suspected* that she wanted pain management. (My daughter has a ruptured disc in her lower back and did need a referral to a surgeon, but she was really just looking for a GP to take care of the day-to-day stuff. You know. The occasional sinus infection. Keeping an eye on cholesterol, dietary advice, running tests for any weird stuff that pops up. Normal GP things.) If that weren't the case, there'd be no other doctor for me. Breaks my heart that I can't have a great GP for hormonal issues because I also broke my back as a child. My broken back is fixed. I have a doctor who treats my pain, so that's not an issue that the GP has to deal with. Hardly seems fair.
