There was enough wind to slowly push me back from the far point to the left if you're standing in the dock. Once you turn off the Glenn Highway it's 2 miles to the Bonnie Lake parking lot. About .8 miles along the road you'll pass Ravine Lake. I didn't see a public use area there. The road does get quite narrow as the lake gets closer. And the road has some steep turns near the end. Drive slow and watch for traffic coming the opposite direction. Once you arrive at the parking lot for Bonnie Lake, Facilities are up the hill and around a corner from the sign board. I didn't see a fee station. There's a small dock available next to the boat launch. The sign says no jet skis and had rules for sizes of motors on boats. Fishing is allowed. It's rather shallow at the ends. Lots of plants that make paddling hard.

Very friendly guide, Tom, took a small group of us through trails to the top of one of the mountains. Trip lasted 3 hours and the scenery we drove through was amazing. Spotted several moose crossing our trail and had incredible views of the Matanuska Glacier. If you're not up to handling an ATV by yourself, you can ride in their off-road vehicle that seats up to six. ATV can be a little strenuous, and maybe a bit challenging if you having been off-road before. Highly recommend the goggles they offer (along with a helmet for ATV), and next time I'll bring a bandana to keep the dust off my face. I looked like the high plains drifter after a day is horse ride. Didn't get a chance to do ziplining, but that view is also outstanding. This place is 90 miles or so from the Anchorage airport. Waze stopped 30 miles short, but Google maps found it. Cell coverage fades as you get closer, so just stay on Glenn highway until you see the ATV, Zipline, and Pizza signs

Since it's at a high elevation (for the Alaska road system), it's often one of the first places "near" Anchorage to offer reliable ice climbing. The favorite moderate route is called "Kid's Corner", it's a 3-pitch WI3. The start can be kinda spicy early season though, so be careful. To access it, you can either hike up the frozen creek or take the game trail up the hill and rappel down into it. The scary thing about rapping in is...you HAVE to climb back out if the river isn't frozen. *gulp* OK, ok, you can do some sketchy vertical-frozen-dirt moves to get out, but I wouldn't recommend it. Haven't been here in the summer, but looks like a great place to explore the creek.
