Really terrible ice cream, icy and tasteless. So many better choices in Biarritz and Anglet, eg Dezamy and Glacier Romane.

I loved this place. The gelato was great and I tried 3 other places ( that were listed by the NYtimes and Conde NastvTraveler) as must go to's and they did not measure up. I did the 2 scoops with coconut and passion fruit .. HEAVEN. Soft and flavorful and didn't taste chunky or icy at all. The staff that I encountered each day (yes I went back multiple times ) were all great and is for sure say if in Biarritz go to Leonard's for gelato! It's really good. read more

This is the finest ice cream in France Lots of great flavours like Rhubarb, Gooseberry, Black currant. Well worth making a detour, and if in Biarritz it is a must. The lady who owns the shop is lovely and all the staff are eager to help. The Caramel Beurre Sel is my favourite flavour read more

Ok, I'm a very big fan of Gelato(Ice Cream doesn't compare when you find the right shop). While visiting Biarritz, walked into Leonard's to check out their Gelato. What can I say, the consistency each time I've returned to this spot is the same. Cold, great texture and many flavors that make you wanna try them all. The staff is hands down the best you'll encounter and the music is always on point. Let's give you an idea of what I tried at this spot..Vanilla Pecan (which is like Butter Pecan), Mango, Coconut, Chocolate, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Stracciatella, Vanille (Vanilla Bean) and Passion. This shows you I gave very good thought into how good this shop is. It's not as if I didn't try other shops around (won't name them), but their Gelato just didn't stand up to this one. The word Artisan is supposed to be for The Best of The Best in that field. Well, Leonard's is hands down the best in Biarritz when it comes to Gelato. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
