We used…read moreBetter Together Builders once before for a smaller project, and based on that great experience, we hired them again for a major remodel. Even though the remodel has just begun, we are already beyond impressed. Their communication is out of this world. They use WhatsApp and video walkthroughs to keep us updated every step of the way, which makes such a huge difference. Alon, the general manager, is incredibly knowledgeable and communicates with us daily. Whenever an issue comes up, he presents reasonable solutions and explains everything clearly so we actually understand what's happening. The demo crew was amazing--fast, efficient, and they left the house spotless. They bring in large work crews, so the job moves quickly and efficiently without cutting corners. There is always plenty of supervision on site, and unexpected issues are addressed immediately. Sapir in the office has also been fantastic. She keeps us informed about permits and sends us copies of everything, which makes the whole process feel organized and stress-free. When we interviewed contractors for this project, Better Together Builders (Alon and Ido) stood out immediately. They got back to us quickly with a detailed bid and even invited us to visit a current job site they were working on. It was clear they have their act together and strong relationships with their subcontractors and crews. You will not find another contractor who combines excellent workmanship with this level of communication and professionalism. We can't wait to share photos of the finished remodel and their amazing work. Highly, highly recommend.

(Updated March 2026) I hired Better Together Builders for a…read moremajor home renovation and paid over $175,000 toward the project. While some work was completed, the overall experience has been disappointing due to prolonged delays, unfinished and substandard work, poor communication, and lack of accountability. Key examples from my project: * Electrical work left incomplete and hazardous (exposed wiring), requiring me to hire a licensed electrician at my own expense. * Poor preparation and installation led to chipped slabs, misaligned cuts, unpatched drywall holes. * The wrong type of water heater (indoor instead of outdoor) was installed, requiring full replacement. * Partial demolition -- I paid $20k milestone but had to complete much of the ceiling/wall demo myself. * Large portions of kitchen and bedroom work abandoned/incomplete. Communication was inconsistent -- I often had to chase updates, and there were barriers to effective discussion due to my deafness (I rely on ASL as my primary language, but no qualified ASL interpreter was provided for contract explanations or change orders). This contributed to misunderstandings about scope and costs. Extended delays caused months of lost rental income and extra temporary housing costs. I ultimately stopped working with BTB and hired another contractor who completed the remaining work faster and to a higher standard. Update (October 2025): Discovered additional serious issues, including the improper water heater install. Update (December 30, 2025): Matter entered formal mediation (unresolved). Update (February 2026): Submitted BBB complaint (ID 24475296, ongoing). BTB responded disputing claims, but I found their response unsatisfactory due to incomplete timeline and unaddressed issues. Update (March 2026): BTB filed a lawsuit against me in Los Angeles Superior Court (Case No. 25STCV36434) seeking to foreclose on a mechanic's lien for approximately $113,000. On January 30, 2026, my attorney demanded binding arbitration at the BBB per the contract's arbitration clause, requiring a court-certified ASL interpreter for accessibility. The dispute remains unresolved, and my out-of-pocket repair and completion costs continue to rise. My lawyer and I have filed a Verified Cross-Complaint in the same court against Better Together Builders, Inc., owner/CEO Yaniv Brikman, project manager Alon David, and representative Lena Agbaria. My original review reflects my direct experience. Homeowners should carefully verify scopes, permits, installations, subcontractor quality, payment milestones, and communication accommodations before proceeding.

My husband and I knew we should get earthquake insurance but the cost blew our minds but when we heard that you can get a 25% discount if you complete the retrofit, we explored what it would entail. Well the EBB subsidy which came out to $3,000 was a huge motivator. Selection: To select a company to work with I went overboard reading reviews, not just looking at ratings- Yelp, Google, Angi, Houzz. Plus, I always look at Next Door because our city is finicky so I wanted to see which companies had delivered excellent experiences for homeowners in our city and lastly I look at Reddit. I invited 3 highly rated companies with excellent track records to provide quotes based on the work required. Out if the 3, two came, went into our crawl space and provided a detailed breakdown of the necessary work and cost with photos. The third company provided a quote over Yelp without coming in person to do a visual inspection. So they were eliminated from consideration. The remaining two which included Sunshine were excellent and after putting together a side by side comparison of the work and costs along with their answers to some initial and follow up questions from my husband ( who was a 35 yr construction industry executive), we selected Sunshine and specifically Adam who was the lead that came to our house and who provided detailed and technical responses that instilled so much confidence. EBB approval: Well from there, it was like we had a retrofit concierge with Diana guiding me through every step which is necessary because there are things that need to be done on the EBB website to ensure compliance to receive approval and given Sunshine's vast experience, they have it down to a science which eliminates a ton of confusion I am sure I would have had to face without them. The retrofit work: The team was on time, had detailed instructions, and worked diligently the entire time they were here and they provided photos of their work. And a bonus was I didn't have any clean up to do afterwards. I need to note that out of an abundance of caution Adam ( who is also a licensed electrician) came back out to take care of a wire that looked suspicious but was probably not an issue. If he had not mentioned it, we would not have known City inspection and approval: A breeze! The gentleman that dealt with the city came by after to give us the good news and it was apparent he was trusted by the city inspector. Retrofit completion certificate Diana expeditiously provided the certificate i needed to provide my insurance broker to get quotes after instructing me on how to complete the final EBB steps Success! We now have earthquake insurance and saved 25% off the premium. Side note: get your quote from GeoVera and not the Earthquake Authority. our quote for better coverage by a more highly rated company saved $1,500 in annual premiums So, for a project that seemingly would have been a bear, it was probably the easiest construction like project and process I could have imagined that gives us added confidence in protecting our home. Do it and include Sunshine in your short list. you will be happy you did.

This was an indication that my house was sinking a bit due to the really spongy dirt the houses in my area are built on. I solicited for foundation repair jobs on Yelp where I came across Sunshine foundation repair. After back to back estimate appointments, I met Jonathan who was knowledgeable and professional. He explained what could have been the cause of my issues (all of which aligned with what other companies told me) and was friendly an professional. The experience was one of those where you know the estimator isn't BS-ing you or trying to take advantage of protentional new customer business. After getting an estimate that was competitive with others, I decided to go with Sunshine Foundation Repairs. The office staff was also friendly and helpful in clarifying the process of the job which was to install new concrete pier-blocks embedded in concrete with pressure treated posts as well as to perform some minor foundation repair. When it came time to do the work, the team showed up on-time and prepared. They finished the job in a single day and cleaned up in and around the area, which I was pleased to see. The crew was nice as well. I haven't had any major rain to see if the foundation repair met my needs so time will tell. However, the overall structural integrity is an improvement that gives me the peace of mind for my home investment. I would highly recommend Sunshine Foundation Repairs.

You can see it in the finish quality: the stonework is clean, the tile on the curved bench is precise, and the side yard pathway turned out better than we imagined. Once all the materials were ordered and ready, the actual work was completed in about a week, which I was really happy about. Tamir kept everything organized and the crew stayed on schedule. Found Cavalier Builders through Yelp and they came to the rescue! The entire team is amazing and while big home projects are often stressful, Sharon and his team made it a positive experience. The biggest thing for me was that they were able to complete the work (including clean-up) within the timeframe we agreed on. When we consulted Sharon with our project, he had a "can do" mindset and really listened to what I wanted while also giving solid advice. I've had bad luck with contractors before and been gaslit at times, but Sharon's approach of having an actual conversation and putting the customer first made us go with his team. While most remodels require you to acquire materials on your own, Sharon connected us with Tile and Shower door folks (and they also had nothing but good things to say about him). I appreciate how he'd always check in to make sure we have all the items ready (i.e. vanity, toilet, etc.), and he'd always drop in to check on the progress. Eddie and his team were absolute professionals and do everything with care and precision. Really liked how he'd always double-check things with us down to the smallest detail (e.g. paint colors, door hinges, etc.). Pricing, I'd say they're within average of the estimates we received. Totally worth it and highly recommend them. Next time I have another big project, I'm definitely reaching out to them.

We interviewed three different contractors, and Joe was the only one who took the time to truly understand our vision. He met with us not once, but twice, to go over our goals in detail, including our budget. And never once pressured us to go beyond it! As first-timer tackling a major renovation, his honest advice (including what he would do if he were in our shoes) was incredibly valuable and reassuring. This was a massive project: remodeling three bathrooms, replacing sewer pipes under both the front and back of the house, mold remediation, asbestos removal, modernizing the exterior, painting inside and out, updating trim, swapping chandeliers and canned lighting, replacing interior doors, and installing a new front door and garage door. Joe truly has teams for everything, that is skilled professionals he's worked with for 10+ years and it shows in the quality and coordination of the work. His crew was consistently kind, respectful, and punctual. Every morning they showed up on time and treated our home with care. With a small child in the house, safety was a huge concern for us, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was secure and safe for her at all times. Joe also made sure no corners were cut. He handled permits thoroughly and professionally, and when we ran into a particularly difficult inspector, Joe personally came to the house to ensure everything was up to code so we wouldn't face further delays. That level of ownership and commitment is rare. We constantly get compliments from friends and neighbors about how our 1960s home looks completely transformed, in the best way. We liked our house when we bought it, but now we absolutely LOVE it, and that's all because of Joe and his team. Joe is just a genuinely warm, lovely person who truly goes above and beyond. We can't say enough good things about him. If you're considering a contractor, don't hesitate - G&M Home Remodeling is the one.
