Poor costumer service and sick plants have changed my mind about Giverny Gardens. I moved here about 2 years ago and have used this nursery for all my soil and potting needs. I don't often buy full-grown plants, but decided to treat myself to a cute English ivy. I brought it home, kept it isolated while it adapted to my place, and within two days the plant was teeming with spider mites. I threw it out and figured it happens sometimes, but went back to Giverny about a month later to buy the same plant along with some other goods. Again, I kept it quarantined from my other plants and, again, spider mites erupted within days. Before tossing the plant, I called Giverny to explain this English ivy issue and asked if I could get a refund or store credit. The woman on the phone was curt and rude, telling me that my home was the source of the problem and she would not issue a refund or credit of any kind. I reemphasized to her that both times I brought home a plant from her store, I kept it isolated from my indoor plants. Heck, the last time I dealt with this infection was years before I moved to Florida! But she said it wasn't possible it was Giverny's fault, blamed my home AGAIN, and that she wouldn't remedy anything. It's just dumb considering I've spent probably $500+ at this store over 2 years and she went on the offensive over a $10 plant. It's a headache dealing with spider mites, and it was ridiculous she wouldn't oblige me for a disease her store sent home with my plant. Nurseries get infections--I've been gardening for 11+ years and seen some gnarly places. As beautiful as the plants at Giverny look, I doubt I'm the first person to buy an infected plant from them. Hopefully the woman I spoke with reads this settles down and learns how to communicate with wronged customers--especially loyal ones. I have heard about this place for a long time, from local friends and also when doing research about nurseries, but I didn't put it together that THIS was that place, because I have driven past this spot a million times and never noticed it. This section of Center Street is a unique mix of industrial, housing, and retail stores, and- apparently - a nursery! I love nurseries but especially the ones that are still left in urban areas on the eastern sides of town. The parking is sparse, a few spots in a tiny lot. The view inside is appealing and definitely draws you in. I stopped by for a very brief visit to grab some native/local milkweed plants for my growing backyard monarch butterfly population. Was able to grab 2 for a little over $10- and they are doing great in my yard so far! Looking forward to returning soon to check out every last bit of this location. So glad there is an easy place to go to for plant needs! read more

It's the most immaculately kept nursery I've ever been to. Karen could not have been more friendly and helpful. It's evident these folks know and LOVE the business they are in. Premium stock, unusual and one of a kind plants, flowers and containers all displayed in an organized and visually pleasing way. The value and pricing for the level of quality is amazing. We need them to open a branch in Naples! I have purchased plants their since they opened, always good service and healthy plants. I purchased an orchid for my wife on Valentines with a decorative pot, I had to wait a few minutes for them to plant it in the pot. It started to look bad a few weeks after purchase, now it looks like it's dying, My wife maintains dozens of orchids successfully. She decided to take it back, one of the owners was there and the first thing out of her mouth was we don't take anything back! Then the owner examined it and discovered that it hadn't been planted correctly and wanted to know the name of their employee who planted it, so she knew it was their fault. The people are so rude. I spent $499.00 and went back and spent another $140.00 but coming home the flowers were too big. We returned the flowers and they give us a credit of $$115.00 but charge for labor and moss which is OK. They did not want us to buy others flowers. The first time I went here I was impressed with the layout and selection, but the vibe of the staff wasn't friendly. I wrote it off because we all have a bad day now and then. The second time I said to myself, wow these people act like they're doing you a favor to let you shop with them. Only because they are close to my house, I went a third time and had a friend with me. We were almost done shopping when we were, I kid you not, ordered to leave the premises! We had only been there for about 10 minutes; it was 5 minutes to 5:00 and they close at 5:00. I love that they have such a large variety of flowers and plants including some exotic breed. The staff was extremely nice, helpful and answered all my questions. I was impressed by their extensive knowledge, clearly they know what they're talking about. Buyer Beware!!! I had a terrible experience with the owner "Victor" of this Place today. I have 5 plants that all died in the same area that others were thriving. The type of plant was recommended by the sales associate at Giverny. So I called yesterday and talked to Victors wife, we worked out, that she said to bring my receipt in and they would exchange the plants for the other types that were thriving in the same area as the problematic plants. I also called today prior to coming to see if she was there which she wasn't but the sales associate agreed to do the same once I bought the receipt in. So I drive my truck that gets 12 miles to a gallon in, I have a car also but the truck I use for yard work etc. I get there show the sales associate I talked to on the phone my receipt, she tells me she wants to verify it the owner "Victor" so she comes back and tells me Victor wants the dead plants back!! I said that is not what we agreed upon over the phone. I said I want to talk to Victor, so Victor comes out, and explains to me he wants the dead plants back because he can get them to revive and he can resell them!! I offered to show him a picture I took of the dead plants today, but that didn't suffice, he continued to tell me he wanted me to drive my 12 mile per gallon back home which is at least 15 miles away to bring back dead plants so he could revive them and then sell them!! I told him that is not what I greed to do with both his wife and the sales associate, but he didn't care. He finally got frustrated and told me "go get your plants" I told him forget it... he followed me out to my truck telling me if it was Home Depot they would want the dead plants back... I closed the tailgate on my truck and left. I was shocked we have been buying plants from Giverny for at least 20 years, I'm hoping this is a new owner, we never had issues there before. Like I always say, there's always going to be problems, its a matter of how you handle them that makes the difference. What terrible customer service all the get dead plants back to resell!!! We wont ever go back here and I want everyone to know how they handled my problem here, I hope all your plants survive because if they don't, good luck getting your money back from Victor. I just thought of something!! Maybe my plants died because they were plants that died prior and Victor revived them and sold them to me???? Buyer beware at this place!!! read more

a pleasure to walk around and look at all the displayed plants. the walkways are covered with some tarp material so you are not walking through mud, the owner was ever so kind and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a nursery in South Florida that is open on Sundays, you might as well be looking for a unicorn. It's amazing how many home improvement places are closed on Sunday here. GG is open on Sunday! I was impressed with their clean facilities. The plants were all watered and thriving under trellises and in greenhouses. GG apparently specializes in exotics and tropicals. I prefer native plantings myself, but love plants in general, and it's always nice to visit a business that is just well put together. Prices are a wee on the high side. Good job, Giverny! read more

I stopped by Giverny Gardens this Sunday with my husband. I was so impressed with the variety of plants and ceramics that I knew it would take too long to make up mind! I returned the next day and Heather helped me select the pots I wanted together with the correct flowers and plants for my home. I was impressed by how courteous and helpful the employees were. Sure, it's a little more expensive than the box stores, but I personally am willing to pay more for service and selection. I can't wait to return! read more
