Dr. Madraswalla is professional, caring, and listens well. When something comes up and we are in need of medical attention, if Dr. Madraswalla is not available, we are always seen by someone else. We have the highest regard for this practice including the support staff who are efficient, professional and helpful and always try to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this practice. He's taken good care of me through thick and thin, and I truly feel that in him I have a vigorous health-care advocate. One indication of his skills and reputation is that other physicians go to Dr. Mintell as their family doctor. I only wonder how much longer he'll be practicing; he's in his early 70's now, and despite being very active and apparently in excellent health, everybody has to retire sooner or later.

This is physicians office that does not return telephone calls. I have on various occasions…read morecontacted the office staff talking to several staff members who have stated that they would respond back to me, and have not. For this reason I do not believe in time of need this would be a reliable resource for any medical issues, and must move on to another practitioner.

I saw Dr. Polatnick for my chest pain. He was very thorough, hospitable, and listened attentively…read more He told me that I can call anytime if I have any questions. I appreciated his willingness to be helpful. He told me to have an ultrasound. I had the ultrasound at another hospital, and the result was sent to his office. I called the office yesterday and asked about the result of the ultrasound. I was asking to speak with the doctor directly, but I was not able to. A receptionist over the phone stated she talked to the doctor, and the result was "indeterminate." I asked her to explain what that means. She stated, "It means we don't know what the heck is wrong with you." Then I asked what else the doctor found in the result. She stated there is nothing she can say. I was disappointed that she was not willing to help me speak with the doctor directly regarding my test results. I called the hospital today again about some concerns that I had. A receptionist became irritated, and stated "The doctor has nothing to talk to you about that." I asserted the importance of speaking with my doctor. She did not listen. She became more irritated and insisted that the doctor does not need to speak to me. She finally stated she would let the doctor know about my call. However, she was very unhelpful and unwilling to assist me. When I explained to her the importance of this matter, she simply hung up while I was still speaking. I felt mistreated and disrespected by her rude and unprofessional behavior. My hope is the doctor is informed about this inappropriate and unjust behavior of his receptionist(s) and he can take appropriate actions to rectify this. As a patient, I have a right to speak with my doctor.

I saw him because another doctor in the practice was not available. I am in the medical field…read moremyself and I would never treat a patient of mine in such a condescending manner as he treats a patient. I have been having pain since I was eleven years old. I know how my body works and my pain is very real and it is a real problem. Was told verbatim and I quote, "your pain is in your head". I couldnt believe a dr would say that to me; when I tried to see someone else in his practice I had to get my therapist to call them and advocate for me because they would not return my calls. They told my therapist I was filing a lawsuit against them and slammed the phone on her, (whom by the way is the kindest sweetest old lady), when I had no such intention. I am on medicaid and dont even have money to do such a thing; nor would I want to as I am not a vindictive person. I went to another practice in New Britain and finally had laporoscopic surgery and was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. I dont want other women to go through what I went through. I want Drs to know women cannot be treated this way. We are people not pieces of meat and a paycheck and our pain is real and we deserve to have our medical problems taken seriously. I sincerely hope no one else is dismissed in such a way and his practice starts treating women more empathetically and not gas light them into believing they are crazy and their pain is fake or "in their head".
