My daughter (age 16) and I had an absolutely incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, Elena and Lex made us feel welcome. It was like we were spending the day with old friends. Before the safari even started, Elena showed us around and introduced us to so many amazing animals. We saw two different species of otters, monkeys, lemurs, a tortoise, tiny deer, guinea pigs, pigs/boars, and even some very intimidating velociraptor-looking creatures (still not sure what those were, but wow). There were only three other people on our tour, so it truly felt like a private experience. Elena is an incredible storyteller. She is knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely kind. My daughter and I learned so much about the animals and the farm, and we were completely engaged the entire time. During the safari, we fed four different giraffes and saw deer, zebras, a cheetah, tapirs, warthogs, and a pygmy hippo. One of the giraffes, Kya, came back to us again so we could feed him more and he even let us scratch him, which was amazing. Then we got to feed the lemurs. There were about 30 of them who gently climbed all around us while we fed them grapes. They were so sweet and careful. Then Lex took us to feed the monkeys. We fed so many different kinds, and Lex was just as kind, knowledgeable, and engaging as Elena. He shared his background and how he started the ranch. They even have an adorable little gift shop to wrap up the visit. Elena and Lex truly could not have been more hospitable. We highly, highly recommend visiting. read more

We had an amazing experience on our tour with Giraffe Ranch. The tour was engaging from start to finish, and a huge part of that was our guide, Elena. So much to see and do! Met with our tour guide, Jared, who was amazing! Did the safari around the park and it did not disappoint. The amount of wild life in this little (50 acre) piece of heaven is fantastic. Birds, giraffe, rhino, cheetah, monkeys, gators, otters, and more... oh and did I mention babies? Yep! A few new offspring! Baby giraffe was born a week. Ago as well as a few new ostrich (escape artists is what we heard...lol) as well as a few other critters... spring time. Who knew?! This is a nice little safari park. Like most have mentioned, there are not any signs pointing you in the direction of the ranch. However, the GPS directions are good, and will take you right to the gate. They gate was not opened until the time of our appointment, right on the nose. A gentleman rolled out there on a off road Segway, which he used to lead the tour. The ranch offers many different types of packages. We got the most economical of the packages, the one where you drive in your own vehicle and pay one price for the car load. It was the cheapest for us by far. He had us tune our radio to 107.9 FM (without HD), so that he could communicate with us during the tour. The tour was vey fun, educational and informational. He led us through the property where we saw, zebras, giraffes, leopards, ostrich, rhinos, hippos, deer, camels, monkeys and a zeedonk (a cross between a zebra and a donkey). The tour took about an hour and we got some good views of the animals. After the tour he led us out the gate and sent us on our way. It was interesting seeing the ostrich egg, which he was able to stand on and not crack and also how close the ostriches get to your car. I tour car van had six vehicles, so it was not a lot. Highly recommend checking this place out. It is about an hour and 15 minutes outside of Orlando and a great alternative to Big Mouse stuff. From our trip a week ago - My daughter loves Giraffes and I found this little gem searching Giraffes Florida on Google. You can book different tours at the Giraffe Ranch. By safari bus, segway or camel. We chose the bus tour and added on feeding Lemurs ( the mini camel safari option was not available.) Feeding the lemurs was so amazing. Our guide gave us instructions and grapes. The lemurs are so friendly and adorable. Some hold you with their little hands while they eat. Our bus tour was very informative and fun. The only down side was the Giraffe feeding part. The owner parked us so far away from the fence the Giraffes didn't want to come to the back of the bus for us to feed them. Also he gave me a very a small branch with about 6 leaves on it. He was going to leave and we hadn't fed the Giraffes at all, nor had the couple in front of us. We complained so he pulled closer and the Giraffes came over. The owner then gave some kids in the front more food so they could keep feeding them in the back where we were. I really felt that If he hadn't kept giving the kids more bushy leaves more of us might have had a better Giraffe experience. I paid $500.00 dollars and my older daughters also deserved some time. We were able to see the animals up close Zebras, Camels a Rhino and more. And the owner used to work at Lowry Zoo so he has lots of great animal insight.. Book well in advance and watch out for the Ostriches they can reach into the bus. read more

Amazing time. Took my 8 year old and he had the best time. Our group was almost all older adults except for my son and another similar aged girl. They got to feed the giraffes and camels so much. Tour leader was friendly, informative and knowledgeable. All the animals were visible and were close to the vehicle. I did this as a special birthday for my husband. It was so much fun! We did the Segway tour through the Safari, and you cannot get any closer to the animals than by using the Segway. Great fun! But what most memorable were the lemur and sloth encounters. It was amazing being in the same enclosure and getting to stroke and feed the sloths by hand. The encounter with the lemurs was off the charts! Lemurs are just so cute, so funny and so engaging... especially if you have grapes! Do not miss a lemur encounter. It is by far the best thing at the ranch. Note we also got to feed the giraffes as part of the safari tour. That was OK, but nothing like feeding lemurs who are at your legs, on your shoulders, putting their paws on your hands! I also splurged and paid for the cheetah encounter. This added a lot of $$$ to the cost, but it did not much more to the experience. It entailed feeding chicken necks to cheetahs through wire fencing with tongs. We could have done without it, as it really didn't add much to the day. Oh well, I'll consider it a donation for the animals foods. Great place! Great owners! Had such a fun, memorable time! P S. Came here with my family to do the drive tour. It was an hour long through the park. Our tour guide was one of the owners who brought us around on Segway while we drove. He had a radio connection that we would use. He was very knowledgeable about wildlife and eco systems and we were very appreciative of the info. The delivery was also great. You can tell he really care about his place and the animals. The animals are not shy and many came to the car giving us once in a lifetime experiences. It's a bit of a drive (1 hr) getting there from Orlando but pretty easy to do. Make sure to have a full tank and go to the bathroom before the tour. Please be on time because the gate won't open until the exact time. So many cool animals and experiences. Price is a bit on the higher side, but worth it, I would have at least four people in the car to make it a better experience price wise, but it didn't bother us. Highly recommend! Last minute decision to take my girls here before leaving FL. We called at 8am and a lady called back to say they had a spot at 10am. This was a drive through safari. There are NO signs for this place when you turn down the road, but GPS led us right to it. The guide was very friendly upon greeting and we tuned into 90.7 am (turn your HD radio off) to hear the guide. Only one other car on the tour. I'll just say first this is a gorgeous place, and all the animals are happy and well taken care of! Kind of neat driving my new subaru through too . The guide was super knowledgeable, and my girls 4 & 8 were oooohhhhing and awwwing the whole time. We did not pay extra for the lemur feedings due to time constraints but I definitely would have if I had more time. I felt it was expensive for the tour but worth every penny. If you dream of feeding giraffes from the palm of your hand in a very intimate, up close setting - here's your place to make that dream come true! My boyfriend and I flew from Baltimore to come here and it was the coolest thing ever. We did a camel tour of the ranch, saw lots of animals up close, and learned so much from the couple that owns and runs the ranch! They are hardworking, passionate about animals, and the grounds are beautifully kept. This is not a cheap excursion but if you want a once in a lifetime experience, this is one to do. Would recommend for kids 11+ to really appreciate this and for any adult who is a true animal lover. It was magical. We also did a private giraffe feeding where the two of us got 30 minutes with the giraffes. You must stay in the utility vehicle as the giraffes run when people exit it, but the giraffes will happily bend down and stick their heads in (and tongues out) for food. The 30 minute feeding flew by and I was so sad to leave the giraffes! Our guide for the giraffe portion was interning there and had plenty of knowledge about giraffes and the farm in general. My wife and two great friends visited the ranch yesterday. Lex was our guide. Everyone cleaned up, used the bathroom facilities and climbed aboard a Ford specialized truck for going on safari. There were about 15 visitors on this tour. Lex introduced himself with a friendly smile and off we went. Lex would drive a short or longer distance, spot an animal(s) and introduced it to us with an extremely knowledgeable base. We were given greens to feed the giraffes. I worked in the Bronx Zoo as a teen and really enjoyed this tour. I recommend it for anyone. There are other tours available, check their website. My friend fed the ringtail lemurs. Email sent to owner after talking with them on the phone regarding the 7 person maximum on each car which was not brought to our attention until after I gave them my non refundable $125 plus tax: Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I went back and rechecked any and all info on the drive thru safari and I couldn't find anything but a check box that said the following. (See image). There was no link to terms. And paying the credit card info was required on the same page. So it basically asked me it confirm I read the terms and conditions without even listing the terms and conditions. Nowhere on the website does it say 7 person max. And the only thing I read was that I needed a large SUV or smaller to enter the safari. I find it hard to believe you couldn't add the max per vehicle on your frequently asked questions. We felt mislead. Personally I found that you interrupted me, made me feel belittled, talked over me and outright told me I was WRONG over and over again. And if it weren't for the kids, I'd fight you for a refund because your rudeness was a deterrent to ever doing business with you again. We will see you tomorrow with two less family members because you won't be getting anymore of our business than absolutely necessary. Congratulations. Follow up: received an email from the owner that my money has been refunded and my tour was cancelled. Let me start with the one negative first. We drove 1 1/2 hrs to get there and we arrived earlier than expected & was hoping my kids could use restroom before tour. The lady we spoke to on phone was quite rude "if you read our on-line contract you agreed to, your not allowed any earlier than 10 minutes prior". She actually told us to leave & drive around cause u can't block driveway/entrance. I would of turned around and not come back but they don't give refunds. Positives...It is nice that they added the drive-thru option since Covid as it's the most affordable way to go here. The guided tour was a young man on a Segway and spoke to the caravan of 5 cars through a radio channel. He was very calm, relaxed & informative while handling the car caravan. You drive through the ranch and get pretty close to all the animals in the vehicle. We loved getting close to giraffes while guide fed them in front of each car. We also loved driving under the monkeys. I also added on the otter feeding for 3 after the drive-thru tour. It was just the 3 of us since the other cars chose to feed the more popular lemurs. Our guide for otters was the same guy who did our tour. He was very informative and patient with us!!! It was the highlight of the trip! Note about feedings...only the people that paid to feed are only ones allowed out of the car.... Besides the rude lady on phone it was a great experience!!! read more

We signed up for the car tour with a sloth feeding. We went in a line with 6 or 7 cars in it. THe tour was great to a point, very interesting about the area and the animals etc. But you never left the car, and like with the hippo baby maybe the front cars could see it but once the guy starts moving you cant juststop to see where it was so we never saw it. Also after the main area where the "free animals" were he breezed right by all the cages with cheetahs lemurs etc without even mentioning it and you're shown to the exit. So that was $150. If you get an encounter you're allowed to go into thecages and that was very cool. We did get to feed the sloth who wasnt real interested in teh food but thats OK. We werent hurried but still it lasted around 15 minutes and that was another $170 for 2. So its a pricey hourish. read more

This is Florida's best kept secret! Truly an incredible experience and better than you will get at any zoo or at Disney. The owners are both fantastic people, so friendly, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable about their animals. The tours are very small, about 20 per tour which makes for a very intimate experience. The highlight of the tour is feeding giraffes from the safari vehicle which is included in everyone's base fee. Beyond that, you can also chose to feed the otters, lemurs, a rhino, and bongos. Although we were one of two families who did not pay to feed extra animals, the owners still invited us to watch or to look at the other various animals with them. You are never left to just stand around while others are doing other activities, you are always looking and learning! Being such a small operation and small tour we were also able to get up close and personal with many animals you would typically never be able to which was incredible. This place is such a gem in Dade City. Call between 8:30 - 9:30 am to talk to a human and make reservations. Later than that and they are out on safari giving the tours! I did leave a message and heard back in the same afternoon, and was able to reserve a spot for a couple days later. I like that they cap the groups. There are lots of well-loved animals in thoughtful spaces. The tour groups are small, so you get to ask the experts questions and hear their stories. I would absolutely go again, either here or in their other Lakeland safari. Wear sunscreen and walking shoes! read more

This was by far the best experience I have ever taken part in. We chose to do the Camel Expedition. We were aware of their strict "arrive early" policy, so we were worried when one member of our party accidentally went to Safari Wilderness and was 30 minutes late. They were so understanding and allowed us to wait for her before starting. The two guys that led the safari were funny, knowledgeable, and made it feel like they were part of our group. We started by riding camels through the property and seeing all the different animals. They have a lot more than giraffes and it was fun learning about them. The property is huge, very well taken care of, and you can tell the animals are loved, respected, and taken care of. Keep in mind this is NOT a zoo. It is a conservation project. We talked in depth with the owner and learned a lot. They don't do it because it's fun, they do it because it needs to be done. We participated in the Lemur feeding which was definitely a highlight for me and I strongly suggest adding that onto your tour. We went inside their enclosure and fed them grapes. They climbed on us, licked us, and were sooooo sweet. We didn't want to leave them!! Then we did the Otter feeding which was equally as cute. Unfortunately, you don't get to hold them or pet them, but this is yet another reason I love this place. They don't exploit the animals for our enjoyment. It's whatever is BEST for that animal. Grabbing fish from us through the fence is what was best for them and it was really fun and cute. They are adorable and make a yelling sound like they are begging. Sooooo cute. Next we fed the giraffes which was an incredible experience, of course. They had so much personality and enjoyed being fed cabbage. Next we did the Bongo feeding. We had no idea what a bongo was, but wow! They are amazing animals. The tour guides spent so much time with us and went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience. The owner went out of his way after the tour to talk to us, walk us out to our Jeeps, and answer any questions we had. We will without a doubt be going back to Giraffe Ranch as well and visiting the sister park, Safari Wilderness in the near future. read more

Was going to go, but since she discouraged me from even asking questions by phone and demanded I go to the website for one simple question, I won't be going. I don't give money to organizations that want to line their pockets but they don't know how to deal with public. $99 per ticket and $199 for guided tours, and when I asked if they participate in veterans discounts, she very quickly said, "We don't discriminate." I told her I don't either but that it was a legitimate question, since many of these Florida places offer free or discounted to disabled veterans. She said without a laugh, "it's a joke." Yes, ma'am, it is. And I won't be taking the grandkids there (can't afford that kind of cost for multiple people anyway), and wasting money if that pays her salary. This place was absolutely wonderful! You have the option of doing the safari in a vehicle or on camel-back. The safari includes giraffe feedings, camel petting, zebras, a zedonk, antelope, boar, warthogs, rhinos, and other creatures. In addition, they have lemur feedings, a camel mini safari, and a rhino feeding/bathing experience (really fun!) at additional cost. One of my favorite parts of the trip was a separate area that is included in admission that includes various primates, fennec foxes, tortoises, pigs, and many other animals, some of whom you can pet and/or hold. Another great touch is that the owners are very informed and experienced, so you learn fascinating information on the animals and history of the region. I would highly recommend The Giraffe Ranch and plan on going back again soon. I would also like to add that one of the reasons the trip was so good was that there were no children on our tour, which made the information given more detailed and relevant to an adult audience.
