We came in for a celebratory meal. Finding the restaurant was a bit difficult but once I got inside, all was forgotten. The restaurant was quiet for a Friday night but that didn't bother us. Our waiter was friendly, helpful and attentive. The staff made a wonderful impression and made the night feel special. I had a nice lemon cocktail to refresh me from the heat.My husband had an Old Fashioned. He said it was good. There was delicious complimentary bread also. We had the mozzarella and tomato salad (caprese) as our starter. It was fresh with juicy tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. As my main,I had their signature Giorg fettuccini. The pasta was the right texture and the sauce was thick and creamy, like alfredo. I was imagining a thinner sauce, but it was still good. My husband had the lamb. Wow it was definitely a generous portion and tasted amazing. I could not believe how much we ate. We had two desserts (we are about 3 bites away from a heart attack by now), the cannoli and flourless cake. Id go back there just for the flourless cake. Cannoli had a taste of baking soda, maybe it needs to be reduced in their recipe. My favourite thing about this restaurant was the music. If you have watched The Notebook, you will know what type of music in talking about. Romantic music from the 40s. I LOVED that. Overall its a great restaurant, i dont know what could be keeping people from going to this restaurant. The price puts this restaurant into a "special occasion/ fancy date" category. This type of restaurant is hard to find in Thunder Bay, and I just wish I had tried it sooner. We will definitely be back. read more

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal tonight. The weekly menu was different than the one posted online as they had included a very fresh summer fare! We decided to split all of the meals and started with a beautiful crostini with a pea puree and prosciutto. Next, we ordered the seafood pasta and it had a great garlic-filled light taste. The perfectly cooked short ribs were the highlight of the meal on a beautiful bed of garlic mashed potato and summer root veg. The reduction on the plate was tangy and sweet and was perfect for this meal. Anna helped serve and her recommendations were perfect. An amazing atmosphere with service that was second to none! This place will forever be one of my favourite Italian restaurants. I'm not from Thunder Bay but I do know that whenever I do come back, this is the restaurant I want to eat at. I had a 3 course meal here and every single thing I had was absolutely delicious. For appetizer I had the soup of the day which was their take on a French onion soup. So good! I got the linguine bolognese as my main. I've never had a pasta dish that had beef, pork and veal all in a bolognese. It was so damn good.... I highly recommend this dish. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, I had the cannoli. Oh. My. Goodness. It was really yummy. I highly recommend ordering this at the end of your meal. read more

The entrance is actually on Justice ave. Glad we found it because it was really worth it. The service is refined. The two waiters were really good and nice. It took a while to get our food as they had a big group in a back room. But it was worth the wait. The risotto and the fresh - made from the day - linguine were delicious. The deserts were good as well but we were full! Great place! read more

Went here for our anniversary. We had never been so we were both really excited! The wine selection wasn't huge, but there is likely a bottle that everyone will like. We ordered the calamari and the artichoke hearts for appetizer- I Loved the hearts. For entree he had the fish special of tilapia, and I had the lamb. I didnt eat it all- I was super disappointed. The entree plates were generic. A dollop of mashed potatoes in the center, vegetables on the side and the meat entree on the other side. I should have ordered pasta. Dont get me wrong, the veggies and mashed potatoes were good. I was just dissapointed by the lamb. The portion was too large, and the sauce didnt compliment the other flavours on the plate. I would like to go back someday and try something different though., I am certain I will try it again. I have heard rave reviews about it from people, so I am extra disappointed that I didn't enjoy the meal. I'll give it another shot someday. read more

Would have given 4 stars but for the fact that my pasta was way over cooked on my last visit. Our server was fantastic. Knowledgeable about the food and he knew how to sell it. Attentive but not overly so. Unfortunately, the food itself was mediocre. For a restaurant that prides itself on homemade pasta, I expected more. The pasta was significantly overcooked. Excellent food and loved the option of getting smaller portions. Had caeser salad and their version of fettucine Alfredo. Our server was wonderful and I feel bad I forgot her name. Also shared a plate of carpaccio that we wanted to lick the plate it was so good. Highly recommend if you are in Thunder Bay. The only reason not 5 stars was because the desserts were good but, not 5 star good. I would like to give 4.8 stars if possible. read more

This restaurant has consistently been one of the best restaurants in Thunder Bay. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are welcoming, and the food which Neil and his team put together cannot be beat. The kitchen will even put something together to your liking if what you crave is not on the menu. And the price points are totally reasonable. My family will be back again and again. My companion and I loved everything about this lovely restaurant. Our server was amazing and helpful, the decor was funky and cozy and welcoming. The open kitchen makes it fun to sit and watch the delicious meals being made. The food was absolutely delicious. We had calamari fritti (light, crispy), Caesar salad lightly dressed, pasta with sausage and red peppers (flavourful and a tad spicy), pasta with a creamy sauce of some kind (very rich and decadent). The homemade pasta makes all the difference. It turns an average plate of pasta into something special. We would return in a heart beat. read more

Always enjoyed my experience under the previous owners. Besides the poor quality in service with the new owners, they would not honour our gift certificate we won through the radio station. They said "there was a mix up with the previous owners, but we notified everyone in the Chronicle Journal." Unfortunately my wife and I don't get the newspaper so we failed to receive this notice. We will NOT return and definitely won't be recommending Giorg to anyone. There are plenty of other fine Italian restaurants in Thunder Bay, so do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. read more

The Resturant it self is a very beautiful atmosphere . Our service started out really well but once our meals were beyond 2 1/2 hrs to 3 hrs and during that time there was no table service to ensure we were doing ok. I am saddened by this as I really wanted this to be great And then we talked to the acting manager who was very defensive. Don't be defensive accept a mistake is occurring and work on a solution calling patrons rude when voices are not raised or inappropriate language is used. Beyond disappointing left here 3 years ago unsatisfied and sad to say we won't be back again. read more
