I still decided to put a reserve on a few items but not too many, taking his advice. (MOST OF MY RESERVES SOLD.) This auction was meant to raise money to go towards my father's eldercare. And what ended up happening, the most beautiful antiques and oil paintings went for under $20, because they started at $1!!! One arrogant guy who picked up many items, said he has an antique store where he's going to resell everything. Does he have no shame?? And then tonight i saw at least 4 beautiful oil paintings that sold from $9 - $40, now on Ebay for $100 - $500!! (Beware of Granparalph) I'm beyond disgusted and furious. My home suddenly felt like it was exploited by greedy two-bit buyers. Don't make the same innocent mistake i made. For the resellers out there - SHAME ON YOU! We informed Iris that one of the roommates required a medical alert dog (as we weren't originally informed). She got a bit rude with us and said there was NO WAY the owner was going to allow that. We asked her to ask since the Fair Housing in NY protects people with disabilities. She was very rude and said "if it comes down to you guys and someone else without a dog ... we are going to pick the other people!" She said this on a call with three other people listening into. Needless to say ... we never heard from her again. Please don't use this agent... if she would do THIS, what else would she possibly do??
