I will start off this review by saying this - if you are looking for beautiful photography, you can end your search and contact Lindsay of Ginger Fox Photography. I don't often post reviews on the web, but Lindsay's talent deserves to be recognized. I am a photographer myself. By saying that I don't mean I have a camera and take photos for fun, I mean that my career is as a photographer and I actually collect a paycheck for doing so. I was concerned about finding the right photographer to document our August 2014 wedding the way I wanted it done. We did not want a lot of posed traditional photos; instead we were after someone to document the day, taking lots of candid shots of our guests and us enjoying the time we had together. The photography was the one aspect of our wedding that my wife let me handle exclusively, as she knew I would be incredibly picky about the process and the end results. I did a lot of searching on the web, looking at many portfolios and packages from various photographers and companies - when I found Ginger Fox, I stopped looking and immediately contacted Lindsay. Photography is an art. You can have all the "proper camera gear" in the world be trained on how to use the technology, but if you don't have an eye for the finished product you're just pressing the shutter button on your expensive camera. From the moment she met us at the hotel to document our wedding day, I knew I had selected the right photographer to capture our moments. Lindsay and I discussed again what I was looking for, and she got right to work. All day, she was out of sight, out of mind - not in front of us with a camera and a flash hounding us to take photos and take time away from our guests, and we appreciated that immensely. Look, I don't need to tell you that Lindsay at Ginger Fox takes beautiful photos in whatever style you prefer (photojournalistic, staged, etc.)--the reviews below totally cover that. What I feel I can add is the great experience we had working with her. It can be awkward, and frankly kind of silly, having your picture taken in fancy clothes in some Center City alley or in front of City Hall or whatever, so it helps a lot to work with someone who sets you at ease. Despite being aggressively uncomfortable in front of a camera, when Lindsay shot our staged wedding photos, we actually felt relaxed and even enjoyed ourselves. She's very good at reading what you need in the moment and giving that back to you. If you're not into schmaltz, you won't get schmaltz. If you are, well, I'm sure she can do that, too. Now, I would love to tell you what Lindsay is like when she's photographing candids, but I can't because she is a freaking ninja. Seriously, I only saw her twice once things got started, but from the photographic evidence, it is undeniable that she was all up in my sh!t. She even managed to work her way into a dance circle/kick line while the piano player was playing "Those Were The Days"--and didn't get kicked in the face! Ninja. And listen up, LGBT folk: Lindsay understands our people and doesn't make any assumptions about who will be doing what, etc. It is, thankfully, very easy these days to find LGBT-friendly photographers in Philly, but sometimes it's just nice to work with someone who really gets what you're going through. Anyway, Lindsay is great at what she does, and she also brings in great people to work with her (didn't forget you, Denise). She has a great sense of humor, too, and we'd gladly hang out with her in a social setting, but I'm told I "sound like a stalker" when I say that, so we probably won't. read more

Lindsay has so many wonderful qualities, from personal, to professional, to technical. If you read nothing else, read this: hire her now. She is a wonderful human being who makes excellent photographs. Let's start with technical, since that's how we began working with her in the first place. We found Lindsay through her reviews (Yelp and others) and were incredibly impressed with her abilities. She has a great eye, but more than that, she has the technical ability to carry out her vision across a variety of settings, lighting conditions, and skin tones. She can play with light in fun ways and she can also take very classic portraits. Lindsay's versatility led us to her in the first place, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Next, Lindsay is incredibly professional. From start to finish, she communicated well and was timely at each stage (even delivering our finished photographs a bit ahead of schedule). Her photographs are excellent and exactly as promised. It's also incredibly important to note that her photo packages include the full-sized files. Read that again. Almost no one does this, but it meant so much to us that we could keep the full record of our marriage. That said, we still plan to order some prints through her because archival quality prints are worth the money (and her prices are eminently reasonable) and because after working with her we want to do everything we can to support her business. Speaking of which, Lindsay is SO MUCH FUN. Her enthusiasm and energy bring out the best in her subjects (that's you!) and make for fantastic photographs. Our guests came up to us throughout the wedding (and afterward, too) to tell us how much they enjoyed being around her. In summary, Lindsay is fantastic. Hiring Lindsay to shoot our wedding was the best decision I could have made...she was by far my favorite wedding vendor. From our initial contact right up to the time she left the wedding, Lindsay was approachable and easy to work with--open to whatever we wanted to do, as well as bringing her own ideas to the table. After the wedding my guests raved about how wonderful the photographer was before they had even seen any photos! After the event she kept me updated with the progress of the photos and got digital copies to me within two weeks--a great turnaround time. You could tell that each and every photo received special attention and thought in the editing process, not just a quick touch up. Lindsay of Ginger Fox Photography was amazing. My husband and I got married at the Horiculural Center in mid-October and Lindsay was our photographer. Before the wedding, when things get crazy, Lindsay was calm and efficeint. She always made the process fun. I did need to constantly call and check in, all I did was sign the contract and Lindsay showed up, was on time and early and was an absolute pleasure to be around. She came the day of the wedding and had such a fun energy, she made things easy. During the wedding, I barely noticed her, but she managed to capture such beautiful shots. I have hundres of pictures, great angles, the colors were fantastic, such interesting candid shots of my friends and family. I will cherish the photos forever. We hired Lindsay for our wedding last year, (June 2019) and she worked with us from the engagement shoot all the way to getting the pictures from our wedding ceremony and reception. Not only is Lindsay incredibly professional and detail oriented, but she goes above and beyond for her clients, and treated us like family! We planned on meeting with a couple of wedding photographers, but after sitting down with Lindsay, we hired her that day without talking to others because we immediately liked her. She was happy to work with us on the type of photos we wished to have, which in our case was candid photography. Her photos captured very beautiful moments and turned out fantastic. Lindsay is so amazing! She had such great energy and really made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. All of our guests loved her! During the posed family photos she would let the guests all have their turn taking a photo before she got her shots in. Lindsay's photos captured our intimate outdoor wedding exquisitely. My husband and I dislike having our photo taken (and almost opted to not hire a photographer at all), but Lindsay made the process easy and so comfortable.
