I had a lot of trouble doing fundamental steps and groves, and sometimes even difficulty in reading musicality and beats, but everyone was so helpful during the duration of class hours to help me while still being able to keep the class tempo! I love the Hip Hop classes a lot. I started with the foundation class back in July 2021 ( I had no experience in dancing), thereafter I got addicted to Dancing and enjoyed my growing passion for it. I am finally able to do intermediate-level classes at the same studio with more fun, sweat, and vibes. I think I can finally call myself a budding dancer :D pros 1) Healthy dance culture, 60 mins of effective learning, fun, and workout ( if you want to sweat, you will ) 2) video shoots and showdown after tons of practice. It's fun to see your progress over time through these videos and be able to share them with friends. 3) excellent young teachers. My personal favorite classes are popping, locking tutting, hip hop beginner and Intermediate, Jazz Funk, and Boys KPop. 4) convenient location, great for socializing in/ off studio. 5) Excellent warmup/stretching routines for the first 10-15 mins. Especially useful to newcomers like myself. My flexibility has improved many folds and I never get injured or pull muscles now. 6) The studio is really inclined on helping you become a better dancer. Unlike some studios that believe in the ideology of "The Party vibes" or "Just chilling", "dance is to have fun"; this studio focuses on nuances of dancing and helps you understand the details and concepts behind movements. Compared to other studios, my learning curve is the best here. cons 1) space is small and I hope they can increase the studio size soon 2) Studio has gained a lot of popularity and sometimes classes can get really crowded, and it's hard to get into your favorite class. I need to book classes 2 weeks in advance

The staff here, and doesn't care about customers at all. Horrible attitude from the staff members and students especially the ones who finished university. Students don't like the staffs' attitude towards students in classes, seems "annoyed" on their face, not approachable at all Takes everything so personal and disrespectful other people... The classes are completely useless, many students and staff cause an unnecessary toxic enviorment, they waste time and money talking about their personal life the whole day and you are better off sleeping. The staff and students ignore, lie, act rude, abrupt, trash talk behind people backs and have "negative sterotypes". Heard they are completely unreasonable and mean. They discourage people from taking any of their classes and they enjoy making your life miserable on purpose. They try very hard to make your life miserable everyday for fun... Worst staff ever seen in life PERIOD.  Even youtube dances are much better than them. Hope they enjoy have 0 customers and their business closing permanently. Worst place seen so far.

Let me…read morejust say that I have been to the Dance Art studio in Richmond Hill many times and it has always been very enjoyable. The lady in charge, Cristina Amalia Dina, can teach any dance, either American or international style; and she is assisted by another lady who also knows her stuff. The guests can request particular dances (e.g. fox trot, west coast swing) and the music will be provided. I remember one occasion when we practiced five different dances in the space of one hour. When I leave Dance Art I always feel happier. But don't take it from me! Try Dance Art for yourself and you won't be disappointed. P.S. Age is no barrier. I first took dance lessons when I was 81; now I am 90 and looking forward to more dancing after the pandemic.

If that wasn't enough, the CD skipped and 3 out of 4 songs couldn't be played/danced too - to say it was embarrassing with high level VERY important guests there is an understatement. The dancers themselves were ok. I was furious and they only gave us back half the money. I honestly would have given them the full amount to stay home. Yes, it was that bad.

My first visit here was during a party held to attract new clients, which the management seems keen to do. With all the condo construction in the area, it seems like only a matter of time before the studio is booked solid with eager students! I bought the wedding lesson package, which offered six lessons. I think the lessons are quite expensive; they are about the same price as hiring a pricey personal trainer, so I tried to think of it that way. It was a splurge for our wedding, but my husband and I didn't regret it at all. We had a few different instructors over the course of two months, but overall I thought they seemed pretty competent and professional. Best of all, the instructors have a good sense of humor and are adept at making newcomers feel welcome and comfortable. The only caveat I have is considering the prices I pay for lessons, it would make sense to have exclusive access to the floorspace. There were a few times where our lessons were shared by one or two other couples, which meant sharing music and floor space. With such a limited time to learn a new dance, it's hard enough to focus, so distractions like that can make it difficult. If I had been paying less, maybe I wouldn't have had that expectation. Keep in mind that if you're learning to dance specific steps for a special occasion, you really need a good-sized space to practice outside of the studio. While the studio offers practice time to paying clients, it's hard to find a time where you won't be sharing the floor with multiple people. That might be a good thing if you're taking general lessons, but if you're working with a particular piece of music, you will probably want to find a space of your own.

The entrance faces Bayview and parking is extremely limited in the back. There is a small kitchen to the right of the entrance where wineglasses are plentiful to use to get a sip of water after your dance class. I found that the instruction here ranges from ok to good. All the dance instructors know their stuff and are very patient in guiding a newbie dancer like me through the basics of various dances like the waltz, rumba, swing, and so on. It's just that some teachers are better than others like most things in life. They really make you feel at ease here and for anyone wanting to learn some basic dances, it's not a bad place to start. As I found out, dancing and learning to glide can be quite the workout! This studio is easily accessible by TTC via Bayview Station and is across from Bayview Village.

This place is a SCAM. They frequently advertise on deal sites like "Groupon", "Living Deal", "Deal…read moreFind" etc and usually have 30 dance classes for $19. It sounds like a great deal since each class is 45mins long and in 4 classes you would have completed an intro or level 2 course for salsa, tango, whatever. Our first snag with this company was after purchasing the vouchers and finding that they wouldn't work when trying to redeem them on the website! After 2 weeks of trying we had to contact both the deal company and John Howardson to get them to manually place us into the classes we wanted because after all the time that had passed, the classes were full! Luckily we got a response and they 'penciled us in'. The 2nd problem is that they sell SO MANY of these things that the class(es) are PACKED inside a tiny studio space located inside a fitness gym. The atmosphere is so out of whack, the smell of sweat doesn't make for a romantic evening, and bumping into various couples every 2nd step is absolutely frustrating. If this was the worst of it, I could have probably put up with it simply because you get what you pay for I guess. The real problem is not with the class but with THE LACK OF CLASSES! We went to one class and unfortunately missed the 2nd one the following week. When trying to attend the next class the week after at the same time and same place we found NO ONE THERE! We were joined by 6 other couples that went to the space to find that none of the instructors had shown up, no one informed the receptionists at the gym why there was no class that week, and when we called the number on the website and the cell number provided on the business card, there was no answer; the only the option was to leave a voice mail. After leaving many detailed messages, and not receiving any returns, we decided to email both the John Howardson company and the deal site we purchased our vouchers. No response whatsoever from John Howardson as to why there was no class that night nor was there any info on their website as to any changes in the schedule. The deal site simply told us to try and attend the next class to find out what happened that week. The following week we went again assuming (hoping) that this was an isolated incident and that there would be a class at the King location this time. We wanted to attend the classes we were looking forward to and confront them in person as to why there was such a lack of communication to the students. When we got there, there were EVEN MORE couples waiting outside the venue. This time there was even word that the 7pm class which was the one just before ours had an entire group of people left without instructors! This was the last straw and after contacting the deal site, they could only give us a credit for the 2 vouchers we bought and even to this day there has been no update as to what happened but we still see them selling the same deal on various deal sites trying to sucker in hundreds of potential students only to disappoint....

I also purchased my dealfind coupon last year for $20. I called and emailed the studio numerous…read moretimes to try to book a lesson, but no one ever replied. I gave up until a few months ago when I noticed that the website had been improved. I was able to signup for a class online and actually got a response! I signed up for 4 friday sessions in October. The first 2 classes went great. On the 3rd Friday, there was apparently "a scheduling conflict" and class was cancelled (this was not communicated to us until we arrived). My fourth class was last friday. We waited for half-an-hour and the instructors did not show up. And now when I look at the website, the class schedule is blank. What a waste of time!! Not worth it, not even for $20.
