We were treated very cold and rude by the all white staff in the admissions department. My daughter was told via email that when she arrived, that the counselor (Emily) would meet with her before the tour. When we arrived she came up to us and said that she did not have time to meet with us before the tour. After the tour, the receptionist told us that she was not available. However, she did meet with the two white parents and 2 white students that was on the tour with us. I complained to the director of admisions (Ryan) her boss and he dismissed her actions saying that she did not have to meet with us. I wish we never drove so far to a school that condones such behavior.

Chesterbrook in Shorewood, IL provides a wonderful environment for kids (6 weeks to Kindergarten)…read moreto learn, grow and play. I have 3 kids who attended their programs from Toddlers to PreK2. We had to transfer to another school, so unfortunately my oldest couldn't finish K there. To this day he remembers the great days he spent their and all the friends he made :). But for the purpose of this review changing schools was a great thing, because I got to see the difference between a really good school and one that was just average. Chesterbrook Academy in Shorewood, IL exceeded our other school experience by far. At Chesterbrook my kids had a neatly scheduled day filled with interesting learning activities, balanced with play-time and outside time as well, complemented with nutritious food and snacks provided by the school. The teachers were communicative, I always knew what the kids were doing each day. They even wrote a summary of the work of their class and posted it outside the classroom each day. My kids have grown so much at this school and I'm really glad we had the opportunity to take advantage of what they have to offer.
