I will list only facts - my son attended this daycare for…read moreless than a year and was in three rooms - there were multiple times that I did not know who his teachers were - I had to pick my son up with a snack and drink everyday because he was always hungry and really thirsty anytime I picked him up - he was injured and I still do not know what teacher was in the room during the incident. - there were three occasions where we were told that that facility would be closed so they could clean due to illnesses. This was with no warning and I had to take PTO to be with my child. - there were several instances where we dropped our son off and they were out of ratio to the adults. When we mentioned this to the director there was always and excuse and when we talked to the pastor about it he stated that we were lying. - I regret ever sending my son to this facility.

My son was enrolled at this daycare since he was an infant. We loved it and thought of the teachers…read moreand staff as second family. However, when he moved up to the 3's room and the center took on new leadership, it was nothing but chaos and disorganization. I didn't know from day to day what classroom my son was in due to the constant understaffing/not in ratio, extreme turnover of teachers, and the continuous moving of staff around. Within just 1 day of my son attending a new daycare this week, he is happier, constantly engaged, and is surrounded by amazing team of staff and teachers who are fully supported by leadership. While my son and I loved all of his teachers the many years he attended, this daycare has gone downhill since new administration took over. I had the pastor's daughter (who I never met, who wasn't his teacher or staff, and didn't even really interact with my son) call me at work to come pick up my son immediately because of behaviors but produced zero documentation. I asked for a copy of the behavior policy and was told I was going to get one and never did. This used to be a top notch daycare center. But now, I wouldn't recommend this place to any parent. If you are considering this center for your child, run-don't walk, the other way.

The Stowe YMCA is a pretty good gym overall. They have a nice assortment of group fitness classes,…read morefree weights and machines, cardio equipment, and other miscellany including a nice big pool that I don't plan to use. The good: two flat benches, an incline and a decline bench, a squat rack and a power cage, a wide array of dumbbells along with a deadlifting platform and plenty of barbells allow for any weightlifter to achieve his or her goals. I wouldn't mind seeing them get rid of their Smith machine and replacing it with another power cage. They've got plenty of cardio equipment including the usual suspects of ellipticals, treadmills, stationary cycles, stair steppers, and rowing machines. Their group classes are good and effective, though they seem to be inordinately full of middle-aged housewives with implants for whatever reason. The bad: Hours. Specifically their weekend hours. They close at 6 on Saturday and 5:30 on Sunday. Staying open until their weekday closing time of 8:30 would be a godsend for people who have busy weekends but still want to squeeze their workout in. The cardio room is too small for the number of machines they have, and kind of gross. I see far too many people use the equipment, not wipe it down, and I don't ever see the staff cleaning it either. Their wifi signal SUCKS. It's either extremely slow or completely non-functional. This is extremely low hanging fruit and I'm sure would make me and many other people happy if they were to remedy it. It doesn't help that this Y is located in somewhat of a dead zone for Verizon service so if I can't get on the wifi, I can barely stream music. All in all it's a good place to work out and the benefits do outweigh the negatives. I will continue to spend too much money to come here.
