Beautiful view. Service lacking. I wrote a review saying the hotel and view were beautiful but the service fell short. As I was putting our luggage in the car the manager--accompanied by another gentleman--came over and said he would like to discuss my review. It quickly became apparent that he wanted to dress me down. I told him I was leaving and didn't want to quibble. He then said Americans are rude. I told him that I was English and born in Essex, my mother was born just up the road in Brecon, my father was born in London, and that I had a British passport. He responded that he hoped his family hadn't had to live near my family in England. He then turned to my wife and started making disparaging remarks about me to her. I asked him to stop. I had to do it several times. And then we left. In contrast, the next hotel we stayed at was the Cliff Hotel near Cardigan. we discovered the heater wasn't working, and we were without heat for a day. We received sincere apologies for the management, a handwritten note saying how sorry they were and that they were crediting 10% off our bill. What a contrast. I really loved the Hotel in The view in Tenby, I was taken aback by being accosted by the manager. I've never had like anything like that happen to me, I'm friendly and outgoing. It was very disconcerting. read more
