I'd never heard of this business/tire shop before but happened to be referred here directly by Falken Tire tech support to deal with a unique warranty issue as Gills Point S is an official local Falken Tire dealer. My car is an Alfa Romeo and I'm super cautious of trusting unknown shops to work on it. From the first phone call with the manager Jason, through scheduling and ultimately buying and having Gills Point S Tire install new Falken tires on my Alfa Romeo, the experience was flawless and exceptional. They were above and beyond friendly, polite, professional, and easy to work with. My appointment started exactly when it was supposed to, and I was in and out in 30 minutes on a Monday afternoon. I was shocked how fast the service was and haven driven 30 miles home already, it's obvious the tires were installed correctly. I have been going to another local regional chain and I've always been stuck there 2-3 hours and felt like the staff were annoyed to be so busy. I almost hate to leave this review because I don't want Gills Point S to be slammed and a long wait next time I go there lol. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! Just one example of incompetence, at this location: I had the front brakes replaced on my 2001 Subaru Outback. Upon picking up the car, the steering wheel violently began to vibrate when driving above 50MPH and the car would pull to the right. I dropped the car right back off at the location, and the Subaru sat there for 4 weeks and they never touched the car. They still refuse to fix the issue. I also had the driver's side strut assembly replaced, here, on my 2004 Jeep Liberty. Within 10k miles, the left side ball joint catastrophically failed while I was driving. I had the car towed back to the location and this car sat on their lawn for 5 weeks, not being touched. I eventually had the car towed to a VIP repair location and paid another $1200 to have the car properly fixed. read more

The team at this location was helpful in getting me in for my car's state inspection on a short notice last December. However, I was very disappointed when they would not pass the vehicle because my tires measured at 3/32. When I reminded the technician that the minimum required for tread depth to pass a state inspection on passenger vehicles is 2/32, his response was "it won't last the winter". I guess the day you bring your car in for inspection does not matter to these people. So, I took my car elsewhere the next day, got my inspection sticker, and bought 4 new tires after it passed. Got a better deal down the road! Will not be going back here and you shouldn't either. read more

I came in on Saturday about 10 minutes before the shop was closing for a check engine light error. I was just in town for the weekend and needed a quick answer. The staff told me they were booked up for the next couple weeks because it was tire season but one of the staff members, Adam, said he had a few minutes to check out the problem. Adam knew so much about everything cars and was super helpful and luckily was able to locate the exact problem! He took an hour off of his Saturday to help us locate the part we needed in town AND install it! Because of him, the rest of our travels were smooth sailing on the roads. People in Vermont are so nice! read more

Tires in Vermont are a necessity, and if you are looking for a business that you can trust, to do the work they were asked to do, stand behind their work, have great customer service and work with you to be fair and understanding - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Like down the street to Essex Vianor. Vianor are independently owned, and the owner at this location needs to assess who has been employed as a site manager. We have gave them several opportunities to correct their behavior and "trusted" that they would change, and ended up buying 2 sets of 4 tires for both our cars. They did not do the work they were asked, and did not stand behind the work that was done. The assistant manger is not interested in customer retention nor customer service. Best advice I can offer regarding this location, avoid it! read more

Had a good friend take their car here to get two new tires installed. I wish they talked to me first. They installed the tires incorrectly (one was backwards) which caused a terrible shake and made the tire go flat. We brought it back and the manager was less than sympathetic to the absolutely stupid mistake. As we waited we saw team members smoking by and in the car....yes in the car. They slammed his rear hatch ten times really hard and then proceeded to do it again after they were told not to. If you want your tires incorrectly Installed, your car to smell like cigarettes and your doors slammed come on down. The manager is a real peach too. Just had a great experience getting my vehicle inspected. Called to schedule a 10:00am appointment a week in advance. I showed up about 30 minutes early. The team was very friendly and got my truck in before the scheduled time. They saved me from having to find a ride to my office and completed the work while I waited. Had an 8:00am appointment with a scheduled 2:00pm pick up for winter tires on one of our business vehicles. Checked in at 7:45am, came back at 2:05 pm and our truck had not been touched. Second time this has happened in the last year. Very disappointing but not totally unexpected. Sitting in the waiting room while waiting for my car to be done. Showed up about 20 minutes early and they still took me right in. These guys offered me the best service I've ever gotten from any maintenance shop. Let me explain myself. (Read the second paragraph only if you want a quick overview of things) I brought my car in to get it inspected, and my SES light was on. They checked out the issue for me free of charge through running smoke through the system, and found a small vapor leak in my fuel filler neck. They gave me a price on the part (fuel filler neck) which was too much because it was from the dealer. I found a price online and they let me bring in the part I got and they installed it for me (about 2 1/2 hours). After this, it turned out my tie rods were loose so it could not be inspected, to which they also found a hole in my subframe. The guy I dealt with (Jason) looked over my car extensively for me to see if it was even worth saving ('04 Lancer with 101k). After a lot of looking around, a referral to a welding shop (to which they could not repair the subframe), he gave us the recommendation of not keeping the car, as the repairs would be too much. Now here's the kicker. He did all of this for me for free. Not a dime came out of my pocket and Jason and the rest of the team at Vianor spent hours looking over and fixing my car. Because of them the switch over to a different car has been painless and without a bad taste in my mouth. I will definitely bring my car to them in the future, and I recommend you do the same. These are great people who are honest and are working hard to get you the best outcome possible. Highly recommend. read more

Absolutely horrid telephone service. I called for info on snow tires for my vehicle and had the unpleasant experience of talking to a guy who sounded like he was drunk or just got up from sleeping. No enthusiasm or friendliness and not helpful AT ALL. Gave me a quote for their most expensive tires and when I said that was too much he simply blurted out "OK", didn't try to work with me on something cheaper or anything.
