From a patient access perspective, one of the things I love about this place is the cleanliness and modern feel of the office. No old ratty equipment, no out-of-date posters on the wall, and none of those other things we've all seen that admittedly force you to doubt a place when you're entrusting your health and body to them. I also love the staff's flexibility and ease of making an appointment. I don't think they've EVER failed to accommodate a specific appointment time for me, and there is virtually NEVER a wait if you show up at your scheduled time. If you're in a lot of pain and need immediate attention, they will also squeeze you in on short notice. You could practically walk into this place and be seen without a wait. Now onto Dr. Stiso. Super friendly, knowledgeable guy who really knows his stuff. Most recently I was treated over several weeks for a strained hip flexor that seemed to also have pinched a nerve due to the inflammation. After the initial injury, I was in so much pain I could barely walk. On my first visit, Dr. Stiso adjusted my pelvis and treated me immediately with laser therapy. He also provided me very clear direction on what I could and could not re: physical exercise, along with a schedule for icing the area. Even after two days, I began to noticeably improve. After a week, I was able to walk with no issue and the pain was gone. I continued to come in for adjustments to the hip area and was told I could gradually get back into the gym. Now I'm back to normal and feeling 1000% better. Life saver! As long as this practice remains in business, I will choose Stiso over any other chiropractor in the area.

The chiropractor proceed to adjust my neck. The movement was blunt, overwhelming me as my eyes adjusted to a swarm of darkness. As days passed my neck became extremely stiff, sore, pain radiating to my forehead, my right ear, and base of my skull. I returned home, I sought immediately medical attention from Dr. Fitch. He adjusted his schedule to get me in. It has been almost two weeks since the first adjustment in Va. I am still suffering but with each visit to Dr. Fitch I am very slowly healing with firm massage, lazar light therapy, acupressure and gentle motion. I have depended on Dr. Jones for more than 5 years, when my body has required his attention. I had a rotator cuff surgery prior to meeting him and while I am not anti-surgery, why enter in to the most dramatic repair possible, when there can be alternatives that make that unnecessary? I want to try to heal naturally, with some of his work ---and then my work after I leave. If none of it is helping....I can always move on to the orthopedist. However, I have never needed to move on! Every single thing I have suffered from....neck, hip, knee, shoulder.....fixed by Dr Tom! At 54 I began working with a personal trainer who sang his praises and referred to him as 'incredible'. I kept delaying a consult, because I had never been to a chiropractor and was a bit fearful of manipulations and all that jazz. I am so glad that I was eventually in pain sufficient to motivate me to make an appointment. His incredibly thorough questioning and examination of my muscles/joints/movement/strength helps inform his diagnosis...and within several appointments I am literally pain-free....for weeks or months. I have had him fit me for orthotics in my sneakers twice and they have been absolute game-changers. They arrived and fit perfectly and have changed my gait so that I never have hip pain anymore. The past year has been a really trying and murky health year (re: no real answers) for me while…read morealso being pregnant and giving birth. I originally went to Garrow Wellness Center for PT and their physical therapist literally got me back on my feet! I walked in to this practice wearing a full leg brace with a reactive arthritis diagnosis and unable to take medication since I was pregnant and 2-3 weeks later, I was able to walk without my brace and my pain was gone! I developed more unexplained inflammation in my neck and shoulders after giving birth and when no medication or injections could help the pain, working with this practice's acupuncturist over the course of a few weeks has not only greatly reduced my pain and increased my mobility, but I am able to take care of my baby again.
