Quiet and calm, I was greeted by a friendly face and easily placed my order. I had a couple of glasses of wine and just enjoyed my surroundings. They run around and do a good job. I chose Sauvignon blanc and enjoyed. I was torn about what to eat. One of the servers, Jason, recommended the octopus and the meatballs- so I said ok! The meatballs came out first. They were tender and had a nice lamb flavor. I liked the hummus a lot. The pita was cold and stiff, but I ate it. The octopus came out hot. It had a nice citrusy sauce. It was cooked perfectly. Apparently they poach it, I asked. I always want to make something like this but I have yet to actually do it. Jason did bring a basket of crusty bread for the sauce on the octptus but I ate a few pita triangles so I skipped the bread. After my wine and tapas, I closed my tab. I easily found the restroom near the stage. I had walked over, but they do have a small parking lot of front and there's another one across the street. They have an event on the last Tuesday of each month. They close the store for it. Call ahead to make a reservation. I just missed the Wagyu wine pairing this week. Oops. They have music most nights. You can check their website for the event calendar.

You need to make reservations ahead and you can also place your food order ahead of time as well. Lori and Tim , the owners , are warm and welcoming and sooo funny. I can't wait to return for trivia and live entertainment night. The bartender Ian was quite knowledgeable regarding the wines they offer. I was also very impressed when he refused to serve alcohol to a young lady without ID. Well done. The food was delicious and really compliments the wine. I honestly could go there every day. Kind of like a " Cheers" for wine. And if I have too much to drink I can just walk home. What more can you ask for?

The owner refused to give me a refund for the month ($48.15 for just me) - so I disputed the charge on my card and he rebutted it with I had the whole month to make up the tasting! The bar is pushed back in a line of businesses which offers a more parking spaces out front. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There are lots of TVs and even a projection TV for your fav games. The place offers high tops, regular seating and bar seating inside. When we entered late afternoon, it was busy. Mostly older folks enjoying the food and drinks- watching the game. We found two spots at the bar and the bartender was quick to get to us. We each ordered name brand vodka drinks. They were tasty and 2 for 1. Wow! Even better. As we sat, the place got busier and the bartender, Danielle, handled her duties with ease. Drinks didn't sit empty on her watch. She was attentive and friendly. Offering a smile and a suggestion if asked. After a couple drinks we ordered some food. I ordered the chicken rice bowl, and my husband got medium wings with breading. The chicken wings were big and tender, the medium sauce was perfect heat, and very tasty. Awesome!! my husband said. And 80 cents each- wow! Again. My blackened chicken bowl was very good. Moist chicken bites with great flavor. It was hot ( temperature not flavor). Every bite like you just took it off the stove at home. One suggestion would be to add a bit more peppers and onions to the dish. They were lost in the rice and beans. Overall- delicious. I couldn't eat it all but wanted to. I was teasing my husband that since we are new to town, we need to check out lots of others places and he smiled that smile. Looks like we found his favorite bar. Chubbyz is going to be hard to beat. We will be back again and again- I'm sure. Great prices- delicious food, and Danielle serves up some awesome drinks!
