Due recent storms and an aging 13 year old fence. My neighbor and I chose Gilbert's Fence based off the recommendations from previous neighbors using them for fence work in our neighborhood. My neighbor had done three quotes and Gilbert's came out with the best bid for our side of the fence. It was about $3,500 with metal poles and cedar pickets. The quality of their work speaks for itself when you see it in person. It was about a two and half day project, but they moved so fast, that it was so effectively efficient for us. We both have pets that needed to roam around to use the bathroom. For value and quality, I am truly impressed! I would not recommend Gilbert Fencing based on my experience. The quality of work, cleanup, and customer service were very disappointing. Issues after installation: * Cracked and damaged boards were installed and they refused to replace them * Fence placement was incorrect and shifted the property line * Several nails missed the rails, with many left exposed (very sloppy work) * Old fence materials were left buried in the ground * Concrete debris and construction mess were left throughout the yard * Concrete and exposed nails were also left on my neighbor's property, creating a safety risk and causing unnecessary conflict The company refused to correct the problems and nothing but excuses, leaving me no choice but to hire another contractor to fix their work. The job felt rushed, messy, and below professional standards. Highly recommend using another company. read more

Another fine job by the crew at Gilbert's Fence. I used them a few years back to replace a broken post and they were the first call when I needed more replaced. I traded a few texts messages with them and got scheduled, a few days later I got a message that they could fit me in sooner. The crew arrived on-time and got right to work. Let me just start out by saying, my husband and I are a bit anal retentive. We like stuff done well. If you look at my previous reviews, you'll see that I rarely praise any contracting work that has been done on our house (except the siding...those guys rocked). We are almost ALWAYS disappointed in one way or another. Over the years, we've had two other contractors build different sections of our fence, and even did a section ourself. We were never satisfied with any of them, until we had found Gilbert. They are awesome! This is the first fence that not only met, but actually exceeded my husband's expectations. Let me tell you, that's saying something. Arnold, Gilbert's son, lead the crew, and they did a really great job. They are incredibly hard working and had great craftsmanship.
