My wife is disabled and travels with a small service dog who is always vested, carries an ID card, and is registered and certified; this was noted in our online booking. This was our first stay at any B&B of *any* size; in the past two years we've spent 36 nights at hotels both independent and branded. The room we stayed in, the Moose Room, is very well-equipped with exquisite attention to detail. The bed was pleasure to sleep in and had the most comfortable sheets we've ever encountered in a hotel room. A two-person Kohler whirlpool tub is in the main room. We were astounded at how quickly the tub filled and we were never short of hot water. The shower has a very inexpensive nozzle on it; a removable or rainfall style showerhead would be more befitting the quality of the rest of the room. I can say that Tausheck's is an extremely high quality facility with extreme attention to detail and very comfortable rooms. The Tausheck's should be commended for the quality of the B&B. Unfortunately, I can't say we will be back since we now know that this isn't the type of place for us given our unique situation, which probably doesn't apply to you. If you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway in the "greater Sheboygan" area, I'd highly recommend Tausheck's and think you'd have a great time there. --postscript-- My previous review (which I edited and have subsequently raised the rating to three stars) dealt with some exchanges with the innkeepers specific to accommodating my spouse's service dog. Given that this was the first time that the innkeepers dealt with a service dog in their 12 years of existence, they did accommodate us the best they could with the knowledge they had at the time. We learned after our stay that inns of this size are exempt from the Americans with Disabilities Act as there are 5 or fewer rooms - see 28 C.F.R. § 36.104. This wasn't known to us, or the innkeepers at the time of our stay, so it's unfair for me to dive into the specifics. That being said, I hope that the B&B's web site is revised to reflect this so that any other guests having a similar situation to ours are aware in advance and can make the appropriate decision.

The room (Timber Trails) we stayed in was very nice having a comfortable king bed and large shower. The breakfasts each day were delicious and prepared with a personal touch with one day offering a customized omelette and another ending the meal with a delicate homemade cheesecake! There is an easy trail in the woods around the house to take a walk on and we were able to enjoy a cozy fire pit at night. Finally, the spa has a variety of offerings (steam room, jacuzzi, massages, etc.) and we were able to relax with a soothing couples massage that was well worth it. The location works well as it is only a short drive to downtown West Bend which offers a good selection for meals and shopping. It is also to the Shalom Wildlife Zoo which surprisingly offers a wide variety of animals to observe and take part in a large petting zoo section as well. Overall, we highly recommend Hidden Serenity and appreciate the wonderful experience that Sally and Chris put together that we were able to enjoy.

We enjoyed the spa time without electronics. I couldn't do many of the heated features but I really enjoyed just reading in the window seat and my husband really enjoyed all of it. We also enjoyed hiking along the trail around the property and the questions that were on signs as we walked. And it was so much fun to come home in the evening and see the fire pit aglow and get to sit around that and talk with other guests. And then there is the breakfast. It is AMAZING! Such a nice set up with the owners sharing their special ingredients that are homegrown or made by fresh produce. I would come back for the food alone! We stayed in the quiet oaks room and enjoyed it immensely. The heated bathroom floors, the record player, the mirrored TV (we didn't use it but thought it was so clever), comfortable bed, and the overall ambiance. We live in the city of chicago and the drive was very easy and a totally manageable distance. We definitely hope to be back and make this a regular getaway for ourselves!

They have a carriage house on site that you can rent on airbnb which would certainly make for a charming stay with such a gorgeous environment laying mere feet away. They host an array of events, from weddings to wine tastings to classes (a gorgeous spot for a wedding with a smaller guest list--this isn't your 400 person wedding sorta spot). For anyone into horticulture or simply looking for ideas to improve your own garden space, you can't help but leave here inspired. An absolute gem in Milwaukee!

The house itself is very architecturally interesting with high molded ceilings and all original fireplaces. It's decorated to look as close to the original as possible. We came as part of #Doorsopenmilwaukee. My daughter was volunteering here later this day. The gardens have an instant peace feeling about them. It's a touch of tranquil in the busy surrounding Downtown. I loved looking at all of the different fauna and flowers. I only wish they had the signs saying what type of plant it was. There are a series of paths, a few fountains, and some nice areas where you can relax. They rent out the gardens for parties and weddings. There was a separate carriage house that has bathrooms and facilities to get dressed for events. I am sorry I didn't know about this place sooner. It's really beautiful!

We have always been able to pay a pet fee to have our cats stay with us. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we brought our cats and paid the pet fee, as usual. Later in the evening, we were stopped by the new owner, who tried to prevent us from bringing the cats in. I explained that we had paid the pet fee, and the owner questioned me extensively and treated me like I was lying to him. He made it very clear that he did not believe me. He insisted that the cats spend the night in their carriers and not be allowed to move around the room. He called us a few days later to let us know that the cats will not be welcome in the future. We were unaware that the inn was under new ownership and that the pet policy had changed. We were not made aware of the policy change when we booked or when we checked in. I made it perfectly clear at the time that we checked in that the cats were with us. Based on later conversations, I do not believe that the clerk was made aware of the policy change, so he was not at fault. In fact, Michael has always been very helpful, friendly, and courteous. I have no issue with new owners changing the policies, but I do have a major issue with how poorly we were treated. I am sad to say that we can no longer recommend this establishment as long as the new owners feel that it is ok to treat their guests this way.
