I was blindsided by a fee that had I known about, I wouldn't have had the car serviced there. Unwilling to talk to me about it or provide a solution. I recently negotiated an out the door price for the purchase of a 2023 Ford F150 with this dealership. However, once driving to make the purchase, I was told that the deal was for a Sierra 1500. The salesman Thomas said he made a mistake during negotiations and then got loud and argumentative with me when I asked to speak with a manager. After being forced to call back myself, I was finally able to get the owner to hear me out who protected Thomas and said he just made a mistake, but he would talk with him about his attitude. He never offered to honor the negotiated price of the F150 and showed no remorse that I was lied to by one of his salesmen for over a week of negotiations. This was a true bait and switch tactic by this dealership and I hope a lawyer reads this review so maybe this dealership can be forced to stop these practices. Bottom Line - The Salesman Thomas Lied to me and then berated me. - The Owner defended him and showed this dealership has no honor in what they say. Very Untrustworthy Dealership! read more

Ken Williams was my salesman and he took my information over the phone, stayed after hours to wait for me to pick it up, and had the truck clean and full of gas when I got there. 5 minutes of paperwork and I was on my way back to Georgia. I was nervous about an online purchase. I had looked for a long time for the car I wanted. I finally narrowed my search to 3 or 4 cars located in a couple of states besides Alabama. 3 of the dealerships lost my business on the spot for various reasons, but then I met my salesman, David Guffey. He answered all of my many questions, and went out into the hard rain a couple of times to personally look at the car and find the answers a couple of questions. He never 'disappeared' on me nor refused to respond back to me quickly. As a result, we drove 2-1/2 hours out of town to meet him last Saturday, see the car in person and drive it, and then complete the purchase. He was waiting on us at the dealership when we arrived. The car was detailed and washed and he had personally taken it to fill it up with gas. Then, since it was threatening rain, he parked it up under a canopy to keep it and us dry. I'm just sorry we don't live in Albertville, because we would have a wonderful dealership to work with all the time. Highly recommend David, Randy Baugh, the owner who came to meet us, as well as Jim who helped us seal the deal in the finance department. We purchased a 2013 Toyota Prius in great condition and at a Ford Dealership, no less. Too bad the Toyota dealers I tried to work with lost out! I have purchased two vehicles from G&B in past seven years. This company has received my highest rating because every employee there endeavors to render excellent service to the customer. I never received any "high pressure" tactics from salesmen nor any false promises regarding warranties or financing. Every person was honest and above board. As a single woman I cannot say that about every business with whom I've dealt. The service department personnel have treated me with dignity and have answered my questions patiently despite my ignorance. I have recommended Gilbert and Baugh in the past and continue to do so. They seemed extremely nice when I bought my used car there a few years ago. However, since then, I have had several issues with the car and most are due to there being wrong parts or makeshift parts. For example, a piece of "tubing" that was under my hood was supposed to be for craft use, never intended for automotive use, and was not allowing proper air flow through to my engine. This car has been jimmy-rigged together and was not at all close to being worth the amount that I spent there. I am furious that Gilbert and Baugh even allowed this car to be sold! A check over by a mechanic (that is supposed to be done before sale) would have found these issues. Gilbert and Baugh are crooks and should not be in business. read more

The purchase of my 2016 Fusion was made so easy and hassle free. When I walked through the door, I was greeted by the lady behind the counter and was assisted immediately. I didn't know exactly what I want when I went in. All I knew was I wanted a Fusion. I knew my credit score, my trade in and my down payment. John, (the salesman) showed me the Fusions on the lot. They had a great selection but I opted for one with heated seats that would be in my price range. Thought they didn't have exactly what I was looking for on the lot, John worked really hard and found the exact car I was looking for within a couple of hours. They had the car transported to G&B and I was ready to sign paperwork the next day. The car dealership that the car came from didn't have it cleaned or detailed; not a problem though! G&B ensured my car was spotless before handing the keys over. At no time did I feel anyone was trying to "get over on me", I never felt rushed to make a decision and never felt uncomfortable with the deal. Everyone there, from the first hello to the last signature on the paperwork were very professional and courteous! I wouldn't purchase a car from anywhere else. This review is about Gilbert Baugh Ford, Albertville, AL. I am not sure who Gilbert Baker Ford is. In April 2015, I purchased a used vehicle from them. I live 150 miles away, and it was late when I arrived. I test drove the vehicle, but was not able to get it out on the freeway. On the way home, at approx 65mph, I noticed a noise and vibration. It was too late by then to take it back (dealership closed for the night). I called first thing the next morning, and was told by the used car salesman that he would check and call me back. I never got a call, so Monday morning, I called back and was told same thing, he would check and call back. He did call back that time, and told me what they had done to the vehicle and why. I told him I needed to bring it back and get it checked out. He said he would talk to his manager and see what they would do and call me back. I never received a call back, so I called back and he told me his manager was busy, and he hadn't had a chance to talk with him yet, but he would and would call me back. 1 week later, I still haven't received a callback from him. I ended up handling the problem myself (turned out to be a minor problem) because I didn't want to take a day off work and drive 150 miles to argue with them. When I purchased the vehicle, while we were negotiating, and after we had agreed on a deal, the salesman complained about how they priced the vehicle too low, and the manager was not happy about it, and they could have charged a lot more for it. Not a good way to run a dealership, escpecially a national brand. I have had better service from a private owned used car dealership. I would not recommend them. read more
