He spoke to us about Springfield with such joy, that I nearly hunted down a real estate guide before leaving town! Seriously, though, he was beyond cool, and it was such an honor to meet him. The shop is full of the usual suspects one hunts for when seeking mementos to take home from a trip. Prices were more than fair. We also had the luxury of staying in an Airbnb above the shop (run by the shop owner's brother), and the whole experience with the family was amazing. Mr. Lincoln's Souvenirs & Gifts is not far at all from Lincoln's home, so definitely swing by for a unique shopping experience alongside a gent who loves his city and its visitors.

They have really great jewelry of all styles and at very reasonable prices. There are some women's clothing scattered throughout the main room along with quite a bit of home decor. When we returned to the tomb once more on our way out of town we decided to stop and I'm soooo glad we did. For me this was the most fun souvenir shop in Springfield for all things Lincoln. I got the coolest t shirt here (Route 66) with an Indian on it that was the quality of t shirts I saw anywhere else in town for a much better price and also a very nice sweatshirt. It's really a step back in time to come into this place. First off, it's like a giant log cabin and everything is beautiful natural wood inside. There's little trinkets everywhere and many types of chotchkies like I used to see back in the 60's when I was a kid. It's a great place to get inexpensive things for the kids and not break the bank! I asked the shop keeper the history of the building and her grandmother started it back in the Depression. She actually lived in the house next door and went to the five & dime and bought some things to have her kids sell as people left the cemetery. She did it to keep them busy and out of trouble and the stuff kept selling out each day. She ending up buying the lot next door, had this building built and it's been there ever since! What a great story and it's still in the family!

Funks Grove is a multi-generational business that has been sugaring maple in Illinois for well over 100 years. Unlike most Canadian syrup I've had this syrup was thicker and had a deeper, richer flavor. It was absolutely delicious, just what you'd want maple syrup to be and the price is not at all unreasonable.

As an alumnus, I do appreciate their selection of unique items that you won't really find online, sports store, or at the mall (at least not easily) that includes items like homecoming apparel and disney themed collectibles. Service is pretty quick and while prices could be a little cheaper, they're not outrageous either.
