Yes, better and cleaner, now if they could just tell the difference between a head of lettuce and a cabbage it'd be swell.

Tanger Outlets Ottawa - 2 fave stores, then a quick purchase at Soft Moc

Went to Tanger Outlets Ottawa and honestly had a really good time…read more There's a ton of stores and I actually found stuff here I couldn't find online or at regular locations which surprised me. The deals were really good too Old Navy was solid as usual and even Lululemon had that 2 for $100 leggings thing. They have QR codes everywhere so you can just scan and join their rewards/app on the spot and get coupons while you shop which is kinda nice, didn't feel complicated. The vibe was cute too there's like a fire pit in the middle (even though it was sunny lol), music playing, and I swear I smelled mini donuts at one point with some bangers playing lol Also random tip but if you're signed up with Lindt you can get free chocolate bag for your birthday (and like up to 30 days after). Only thing is the food area is super small, like a couple spots, so don't expect a full food court. But honestly you won't really care because there's a lot to walk through. Would go back for sure.

Japanese, Subway, Greek... nah but the washrooms inside there are handy and clean. The stores I would normally go are Bath and Body Works for foaming soap and hand sanitizer.. love their candles too. Van Houte maybe for a rare treat. Tommy Hillfiger but nothing fits right as I have an athletic build so... I just look. I love Softmoc, I do have too many shoes and boots but that's allowed! My ultimate spot there is Chilly Chiles as I love hot food/sauces and the staff there are great. I love the kitchen store too but I have wayyyyy too much of that stuff as I love to cook and already have fancy glasses. Mid week is best to go for service and parking - weekends, I avoid.

I find the quality and prices very good AND it's a registered charity; part of the Big Sisters/Brothers organization so proceeds are going to an excellent cause. They now have a small housewares section but don't have room for big items like furniture. I do make sure this place is on my list when I'm on the hunt for something. Ample free parking and close to other shopping on Merivale.

I like that the impacts of donations and purchases stay local. And organizations that help kids always have my support. The clothing at Thrive appears to be geared towards youth and so skews on the younger side, in my opinion. The racks are filled with brands like Old Navy, Garage, and Ardene. Prices are cheaper than places like Value Village. They had some new items like Funko Pops and Squishmallows, while I was there, but I guess these depend on donations, perhaps these were from a business (?) They also had some used video games and controllers. They also have (new) Big Brothers and Big Sisters merchandise. Staff are friendly. I believe that many of them are volunteers. They are located in the Emerald Plaza. Lots of free parking in the plaza.

This mall absolutely sucks. There's no good clothes-shopping stores, and the only things keeping it…read morealive are the Rexall drugstore/pharmacy and the very-little known grocery store. They're building a T&T in it that says "coming soon" on the front windows (visible from Eagleson road), but despite that phrase it has been in construction for the past 3 years, and it looks as if its gonna continue on for quite some time. Overall, this mall is so horrendous I don't think I've ever been to a worse mall in my life. Honestly, it would be more fun exploring it if it was abandoned, but seeing it as it is just hurts my eyes and brain.

I have literally been to every mall in…read moreOttawa and Hazeldean Mall ranks up there with sad little malls like Westgate Shopping Centre and Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre :( If you are a tourist and looking for places to shop, you will likely be disappointed if you went to Hazeldean Mall. It is not a shopping destination. It is a local mall that residents of Kanata go to to run errands. I think the stores keeping it alive are the grocery store (Your Independent Grocer) and the drug store (Rexall Pharma Plus). They had a Zellers once upon a time which became a Target which at the time of the writing of this review is now just space for lease. Many stores that sell fashions here are geared towards those in their 70s or older (Northern Reflections and Alia N Tanjay). For the younger generations they have Stitches and Claire's and for those in between, Reitmans and Naturalizer. So not exactly a fashionista's dream. The food court here is equally disappointing for foodies. It has a Subway, A&W and an independent teriyaki and sushi place aptly named Sushi Teriyaki (I found the food there acceptable, but not anything spectacular. It was on par with the larger chains like Teriyaki Experience). When I'm in Kanata, I may stop here for some groceries, as they tend to have some good sales at this location. This mall is in the suburbs, so lots of free parking!

I realized last year that I don't own any clothes with Canada boldly stated on it. Last Canada Day,…read morethe closest I got was a pink Blue Jays t-shirt with a small maple leaf on it. I realized this past weekend that Old Navy had Canada tanks going for $6. I decided to visit the Old Navy outlet. The tanks were okay, but I'm not a tank top person. I then found two t-shirts that I liked. One was a white t-shirt with Canada written four times in old 70's-style lettering. The first two Canada instances were white with black outlining the letters. The third row had Canada in red outlining. The last row was white letters again. It was a ringer t-shirt, with red trim. Sold! I also got a grey t-shirt with little red maple leaves all over. It is also a ringer t-shirt. Each t-shirt went for $8. The price was decent. I love summer merchandise at Old Navy. The watermelon and lemon beach bags are adorable. I also secretly want a watermelon umbrella. At the checkout. I decided to get a tube of charcoal clearing mask for your face. You basically let the mask harden and you peel it off gently. I need to give it a try and see if I can truly lift it off or if I will have a permanent Halloween mask on. The checkout was fairly long. I was there for seven minutes waiting in line. I tend to be pretty patient, especially when there is a ton of merchandise to check out. The woman helping me out at the checkout was efficient and nice. I got my goods and left. I wore my white Canada t-shirt on Canada Day. I am finally cool. Yay! Thanks, Old Navy. (200)
