This location in New Castle was Ok. I stopped in looking for a drink for the road, and also to use the rest room. The restrooms were clean, but as I exited, I saw the bins of clearance food just outside the doors. It kinda grossed me out, and also didn't make sense as nobody would see it unless they used the bathroom, which has to be a small percentage since PO Lunch closed (those were some damn good chili dogs). It's probably great for everyday shopping. It not a behemoth like some of the Giant Eagles in Pittsburgh, so it's manageable for every day stuff without making the trek to Walmart. read more

Worst in long time verbally assaulted and thrown out of the store by a team leader named Robert saying he was the manager at the Butler Road location for listening to music on a little Bluetooth speaker I am deaf in one ear and a double amputee he yelled at me turn off your music I didn't even know who it was or where it was coming from as he was exiting the doorway of the hallway to the back where the bathrooms are and the specials are which is what I was examining so I said what he yelled again turn your music off I was like why he yelled again turn your music off I was like no there's no law or sign saying I can't listen to music so HE STARTED yelling GET out of the store now I s said no I've broken no laws he kept yelling get out of the store now on repeat I said okay I asked him to speak to a manager who said he wasn't manager though his tag only said team leader so I hobbled my way to the front of the store to leave wanted to speak with the cops since he was already calling them at the same time I thought I didn't want add to his escalation of the situation by staying so I left this is very disturbing it was very hostile I asked him if he was because he was wearing a boot on one foot and his foot was hurting I tried to film him on the way out and get him to say the reason he was asking me to leave in his name and then he hid from the camera and would not say his name nor the reason he was asking me to leave just stayed on the phone with the cops horrible when it's a place you shop regularly read more

I wanted to give them no stars after what happened today. My husband hurt his ankle and cannot walk, so he was using one of the electronic carts when a manager named Edye stopped him and asked what happened. When my husband told her, she laughed at him and badgered him, saying he "needed to come up with a better story", until my husband felt compelled to prove to her that he was indeed hurt and stood up, which is something he isn't supposed to do and that could cause him further injury. I saw him stand and walked over to her and asked if there is a problem. She just said that "he was trying to prove something" and walked away. Even though we had more shopping to do, my husband was so embarrassed that we had to leave the store. She was the only manager on duty, so we couldn't even complain. This is unacceptable behavior, especially from a manager! We don't choose to shop there to be harassed by management. There are plenty of other places in town to buy our groceries, and we will not be back there until the store appropriately handles this situation. read more

With the virus going around and affecting how we all shop and try to stay safe some stores like this one are showing there true colors. I went there to buy some food for my house only to be discriminated against. They choose who to enforce there new policy's, which by the way aren't really working, against people they choose to select. I know this because the worker runs up to us and says you cant go down that way, we were just moved to the side for an elder lady trying to get through. so imagine if the giant eagle worker had the virus, she would of now just gave it to us, she was right in our face. I looked at her and said how can you say that to us, there is a couple of off duty workers hanging over each others cart, does that not break the guidelines. People need to wake up, our freedoms are disappearing, we live in country full of dictators. My mom has been shopping at the Butler Rd Giant Eagle since they opened years ago. She has nothing but good things to say about the service, cleanliness, prices, and quality. For example, one time she was 50 cents short for her order and the the cashier insisted on giving her the money. A similar situation also happened at the pharmacy. read more

NEVER HAVE I EVER!!! I have worked in customer service for every job I have ever had. Each with a training video on how to treat people. So my first experience with this location. My Giant Eagle Advantage card would not scan. I mistakenly asked for assistance on register 7 SELF CHECKOUT when TINA was finished with her previous customer. I was PATIENT. She walks up a moment later Yells at me for having more than 10 items. Says my card wont work I need a new one. I then Inform her how Giant Eagle in Chippewa PA had typed the numbers on the card in the system for me and this is not customer service she was being rude, and while I was POLITELY walking away TINA proceeded to say rude things to other customers about the situation. I never experienced such awful customer service in my life. I have never treated my customers like that. Giant Eagle 1: What kind of treatment do you give your employees. Has TINA worked the entire pandemic without any vacation days that were not used for sick days? 2: to you train in customer service?? or 3: you just hire negative people? I shop here all the time and have for many years and have never had a problem with anything or anyone, everyone's always been nice. It's always clean. It's nice to go to a smaller store that's close by as opposed to a huge store with super long lines that takes forever to shop in and is farther away from where I live. I've compared WM prices to this store and it's sometimes a couple cents difference. Overall I'm happy with this store. read more

Very expensive. They try to get you cheaper gas prices for shopping there but your paying for it with the high prices. They also picket another store that offers great prices. The might even pay their employees to picket. read more
