One star only because it makes you choose a star and negative stars wasn't a choice. I would not recommend GI North. I paid $100 out of pocket for a consultation to schedule an appointment for a procedure. After 6 weeks without a phone call I reached out to them. During that time I found out that my mother also had a bad experience with them. I asked to speak to a manager. I had gotten lost. A MA lost my paperwork. I was offered an appointment and would need another consultation but would be free of charge. I advised him that I could no longer trust GI North with my best interest or health and that I would rather get a refund and go elsewhere. He told me that he couldn't authorize a refund and would submit to upper management for review. Two weeks later the refund was denied. I will be filing a small claims suit and filing a complaint with the BBB. It's not about the money at this point. They will now pay for the claim, refund, and a black eye. Do better. The office is easy to find and the waiting room was very relaxing and clean. Front desk was very sweet and friendly. The medical assistant was very nice and put me at ease immediately. I was seen promptly, did not wait long. Dr was kind took the time to understand my concerns. I did not feel rushed. Payed out of pocket and didn't break the Bank. Paid their estimate in full. Weeks later, they sent me a surprise $500 bill with a warning that I'd be charged interest if not paid in 30 days. No one disclosed that upfront. I contacted billing and their COO--no response at all. Stay away if you expect honest billing or accountability. read more

Well my wife and I were here yesterday to set up her appointments for the two procedures she needs done. Our PA Asahna was very upbeat and had a great attitude the whole time. Very concerned about our issues for the exams we are setting up. She took extra effort to make sure we understood every step of the coming procedure. DO NOT GO TO THIS CON PRACTICE. they told me the out of pocket costs then i have received over $1600 in additional bills claiming they ran wrong insurance. they will not accept any responsibility for their error - yet when looking on these reviews i'm not the only one they are doing this to. So they're either morons or this is a complete money scam. I have been calling them for 2 months to discuss and try to rectify and get nowhere. the out of pocket price was the determining factor for this voluntary procedure and they did not do their job in providing anything close to what they are trying to now bill me. This review is for Dr. Colfrancesco...not the other staff, they seemed very nice. At first Dr. C's bedside manner seemed good, in fact...pleasantly surprised at how he didn't push procedures not needed. However, the first visit, he failed to ask enough about the situation, and almost released without realizing the condition had persisted for months. Chalked it up to not enough notes from scribe and new patient...plus maybe in a rush...not a massive concern but wouldn't be here for the review. Always give a pass for a first time experience. Well then, went back the SECOND time: much worse condition...and naturally there concern. immediately prescribed a biological BASED on a visual diagnosis of an infection...that was at first admitted a dermatologist needed to diagnose ... then the bedside manner was lost, temper raised and soon said a biologic (an intensive multi month process) was needed because of an "extra-intestinal manifestation." The issue here is this diagnosis proved to be wrong...it was an ordinary skin infection as confirmed after. expressing the slightest concern (just trying to give context that clearly was missing) met with ... "do what the doctor says." can't keep prescribing steroid. Well...the problem is (the practice) never had prescribed a steroid to ever. explained the actual context ... no history of steroids ... but there was no apology. Instead of admitting there was confusion thinking the situation was from another patient, the diagnosis remained unchanged. there was a rush to get the answer, there was not attention to the patient history, and almost landed on a biologic from a blatant mis diagnosis on a condition which resolved naturally a week later. The review is not based on an emotional opinion, it's based on 3 concurrent mistakes - 1. Failing to ask investigative questions to learn patient history 2. Diagnosis first contingent upon a specialist but then moving forward 5 minutes later anyway based on opinion 3. Making false claims about steroids that were proven (and stated in the moment) to be false as a result of thinking the patient was someone else. As always, slow down, do your research, and be aware when someone doesn't take time to understand your full condition before sending you down a long medical journey you may not have to travel. read more

Every time I go into the office at the sugar hill location, I am forced to wait forever just to be greeted and checked in. This has happened a few times now, it's like they never have someone at the front desk. The phone will also be going off for a long time and no one seems to care. The doctor I did see was nice and professional and I was happy with that part of the experience. read more

I had an endoscopy this morning at GI North and if I could give them 10 stars I would! I have had this procedure on three other occasion by different doctors - this facility is beyond #1! From the front desk person who greeted me, to the nurses - especially Micheala who started a painless IV, the nurse anesthetist and of course Dr. Cofrancesco, my care and treatment were exemplary! Everyone was friendly, happy, worked as a team and made me feel at ease. Dr Cofrancesco explained the results of the procedure to me in an understandable way. Oh and I can't forget to add Matt to the list of friendly people I met - he chauffered me to my waiting vehicle joking all the way! read more

Probably the worst doctors office I have ever visited. They act like you're a burden as soon as you walk through the door, and you're the only one there? It's mostly the staff they act like they don't have time for you they explain things incorrectly, like test kits. I was also charged a boat load of money for a test kit and none of the staff check to see if the testing company was in network with my insurance, once I brought this up to them they were like well sorry that's you're problem. There payment system also charged me 850000 dollars on a 10 dollar office fee, were I had to call my credit card company and explain what happened so my card didn't get cancelled, so if you have already gone to this doctor do not do any online payments! read more

I used Gastro Anesthesia for a procedure with GI North 10/10/2022. GI North gave me amount that i should pay after insurance paid. I received a bill from Gastro Anesthesis Services for the bill less insurance discount. I contacted my insurance company and the anesthesis service exceeded my benefit amount. Once i established that my insurance was not going to pay anything. I sent a check to 4150 Dep Canrell Memorial Rd. My check was returned. On 3/20/23, I spoke with Marissa in their office and confirmed correct address. She told me to send a new check to 102 Mary Alice Road. I was informed by their office staff that they were having issues and it may take a while for them to post my check. They received my payment on 4/18/2023 however they held the check and didnt clear my account until 6/1/2023. They sent my account to collections. As of 12/6/2023 PDQ Collection Services still showed me owing the $416 plus $120 collection fee . The office manager refused to have the collection fee removed even though they were paid 4/18/2023. I was happy with services provided but not with their office staff. read more

I determined to not go GI North and also not recommend people to go this clinic because of very ineffective and delayed work process. The clinic took several days to check whether my health insurance works or not (I am working in academia). Then, an agent told me that two of their doctors could accept my insurance and asked me to fill out all the forms. After that, I heard that somebody will call me to make an appointment. Again, I had to wait several days to receive the phone call. Then, the agent told me that she had to check the availability of health insurance (I have used this health insurance at almost 10 different clinics). Then, the person returned to me and told me that the clinic has to check the availability, so the clinic cannot make an appointment with me at this time point. So after waiting for almost 12 days, I failed to make an appointment with GI North. read more

Just had my first colonoscopy this am which I was dreading! But the dread quickly melted away when I arrived to the friendliest staff from beginning to end. Little to no wait too! Bedside manner was OFF THE CHARTS by ALL including Dr An. I don't think I have ever had a better experience in the medical space of life. read more

For D. Tyler An, Advanced technologies, amazing skills, considerate attitude and wonderful service! I had the most wonderful medical experience with Dr. Tyler An and his group. I am a new patient from Boston Massachusetts. After retiring from MIT and US air force Research Lab, Both my wife and I moved to Georgia to avoid the cold weather over there. Before moving here, we were worried about the healthcare system here. Recently, I saw Gastroenterology expert, Dr. Tyler An and had my annual colonoscopy test procedure with him and his group of people. All was wonderful. Ms. Jessica Hagan, Ms. Laura Crawford, Ms. Becky Litt, Ms. Mikaela Williams, and Mr. Matt L. all took good care of me meticulously and caringly. Dr. An gave me an endoscopy and colonoscopy test. When I woke up, he told me warmly: "Don't worry, you have no problems. There were 4 polyps were found in your bowel, and all of them were removed using polypectomy. We are going to biopsy these polyps; I don't think they were very bad things." Dr. An also gave me a copy of his work report. The report documents his examinations for me item by item, which was accompanied by nine color photographs of my digestive system from my esophagus to my rectum. All of the photos were accompanied by detailed descriptions. I have never seen such a wonderful service. I am very grateful to Dr. An. I am very grateful to Dr. An's group. read more

My husband spent 3 days in the hospital for sepsis, kidney failure and a viral and bacterial infection only to have Dr Quijano say it probably wasn't that and it was just probably a flu. He never looked at him, talked with him a couple minutes and said he will be fine and left. So if I were you, I would find someone else if you need true patient and bedside manner to help you figure out what's wrong. Apparently he was too busy to help my husband today figure out what was going on for him. read more

Dr. Quijano took more tests to discover both my moms and dads cancer, when no one else would test them for their symptoms. He probably saved my moms life because of that. So he seems pretty thorough. He is also very polite and explains things well. So if want someone to go the extra mile, it's this doctor. read more

I've now been a patient for 3 years! Simply the best GI practice out there. Always get me back on time, yet somehow once I'm back there I never feel rushed! Coming from another practice where it felt more like they were hearding cattle in and out, GI North feels more like a health partner. Pushes colonoscopy like a used car salesman. You will not get any help here. They run expensive test and never call you with the results. If you do get the results, they do not follow up to resolve your problem. If you just want to pay for expensive tests and get no service, no response, and no cure - this is your place. read more
