I really appreciated how they recognized the importance of timing and helped make it work. Her staff was friendly, helpful, and kept me informed throughout the process. On the day of the procedure, Dr. Okoro was professional, thorough, and reassuring. She performed both procedures smoothly, removed two polyps for biopsy, and made sure everything was handled with care. Afterward, she took the time to speak with my wife and me and clearly explained the findings. Aside from the polyps and a mild case of diverticulitis, everything looked good and I was cleared for my upcoming surgery. Her office also sent the results promptly to my surgeon, which made the whole process seamless. Overall, I really appreciate the level of care, communication, and efficiency from Dr. Okoro and her team. I would definitely recommend her to anyone needing GI care.

I waited 9 months for them to schedule a routine colonoscopy and they never did, so I had to leave the practice. The doctor is very good, but I suspect they started a DEI program. That is the only thing that has changed since my previous visits. If I could give this practice a 0, I would.

My experience led me to speaking with an off-shore scheduler for my colonoscopy; my rep was difficult to understand, continued to cut in and out, and finally was completely disconnected before the phone call was completed. I did not receive a call back after being disconnected, but I did receive an email confirming the appointment but did not receive any instructions regarding preparation procedures. A week before my procedure I called the office because I still did not received any information regarding preparation procedures and got transferred to a virtual agent. The virtual agent then sent me to "gift heath". I finally got a human at "gift health" who informed me that my prescription was ready and that I needed to pay them a $10 co-pay and it would be mailed to me. I was NEVER informed of "gift health" for the prescription so I hung up in frustration. I checked my portal and no where were there instruction or information regarding "gift health" or preparation procedures. I then called back the main office back several times in my efforts to speak with a human. I did speak to a helpful person, Millie, in scheduling that convinced me to not cancel my appointment because I was so disgusted by the way I was being treated and assured me she would get me a human. After 35 minutes, I was able to speak with a human and received my prep information. I cannot put into words how upsetting this experience has been. I really like Dr. Peji and that is the one and only reason I will go and get my colonoscopy. If you really want to use Atlanta Gastro I suggest you make an in-office consult appointment, this way you get to speak to a human and be treated like one. I am incredibly disappointed in their treatment of their patients. I can recommend Dr. Peji with confidence, but to off-shore the important information needed for a colonoscopy and to receive no information regarding the preparation is completely unacceptable. I had an upper endoscopy performed by Dr. Longacre on Monday, around noon. Around 3:00, I developed explosive diarrhea and severe stomach cramps and pain. Tuesday, I received a follow-up call from Ted at the endoscopy center. He asked how I was doing. I told him not well at all, that I was seriously ill. He says, "I'll make a note of it. If your symptoms persist, call the doctor." That must be his idea of a joke, I guess. So I wrote the mentioned-in-earlier-review Pam to ask if I should be concerned, was this in any way related to the endoscopy, what should I do, etc. I received a call from someone named Maggie who explained that Pam was absent, but she (Maggie) would get a note to the doctor and I'd hear back. Yay. Heard nothing back. Wednesday, I'm still having the horrible issue. I called Pam's number and left a message. Someone named Natalie calls me back, says she'll send a note rated high priority to Dr. Longacre, and I'll hear back from the doctor by the end of the day. Yay. Heard nothing back. Thursday, into my third day of sickness, wrote Pam's email addy (copied Dr. Longacre) and told whoever read it that I was fed up with their non-responsiveness, and I'd be finding another gastro doctor. Yay. It's 1:00 p.m. and no one has bothered to even respond. In short, if you enjoy a cold doctor, a negligent staff, being left in the lurch after developing problems post-procedure, and generally being treated like you're dog crap on the bottom of someone's shoe, this practice is for you! But if you don't enjoy the aforementioned, maybe you should look elsewhere. How do they stay in business?!?!? On the bright side, I've lost 10 lbs. in three days.

They did leave me having to drag the pole to the bathroom a few times, because someone took that button away that calls the nurses to help. It took longer waiting than I had planned, but once I got in there, I was out like a flash and the procedure was successful. The last time I had a colonoscopy, they gave me the wrong anesthesia and couldn't get me to stop wiggling. That was the VA in San Antonio, TX. Gave me so much, it took me a long time to come to, only to tell me I had to come back and have it done with general anesthesia instead of local. Ummmmm, NOT! Hahahahaha Even after Dr. Karim found something back there that was benign, they said they'd like to see me back in 3 years (I think). I said, "No, how about 5?" I can't stand the prep, it keeps me up all night, then I had the runs for over half a day. UGH! Great & kind team of staff in the OR. Thank you!

I would not recommend this practice. I was discharged from the hospital after a 3-night stay,…read morediagnosed with severe UC. During checkout, there was no discussion on what to expect on the road ahead. nor was any followup (and by when) discussed. The night after discharge, I had concerns and called the office 3-minutes after opening. I was connected with "clinical support" and left a detailed message. It turns those persons are working remotely. So, I called back about 1PM after hearing nothing. My first call got dropped; wasn't called back, and had to call in again. This time I was told to go the ER, which I did. Going back in history, I started having digestive issues in May 2025. I made an appointment with the firm, and was told based on a 2024 colonoscopy, I had hemorrhoids and to start taking fiber, which was no help, so I got with my primary care physician, who did several tests, prescribed medication for IBS, and over the course of a few months got better. So, my initial concerns were "blown off" by Atlanta Gastro. My primary care physician ruled out celiac disease and Chrone's, but indicated UC could only be diagnosed with a colonoscopy. But his diet recommendations and prescribed medications to treat IBS worked over time, and had successful quarterly visits with my primary care physician. Early this year, following a trip abroad, I began having worsening digestive issues and during the routine visit found I was borderline anemic. suspecting internal GI bleeding, myprimary care physician referred me back to Atlanta Gastrointestinal. I had an initial visit in early March, and was scheduled for full GI testing in mid-April, plus other routine tests. I had calls get dropped 3 times in relation to the prescribed lab tests. In no instance was the dropped call returned; rather, I had to phone in and leave another message. Before I could have the scheduled endoscopy / colonoscopy as an out-patient, my condition worsened, and was admitted to the hospital. I called in to Atlanta Gastro to inform them that I was headed to the ER and they followed my case, starting from ER tests. They had brief visits with me during the 2-days after procedure, but no follow-up from them in the discharge orders. in fact, I still had to call the office to cancel my outpatient tests else I would have been charged for a no-show. You can make appointments via their web site, but can't cancel; you have to talk to a real person. I should not have had to call to cancel anyway as they were aware of my condition and supposedly following the case. So, in my case, terrible customer (patient) service, multiple dropped calls, and no follow up checking on my condition. Communication with and within this office obvious is poor. I felt like being treated like a number vice a patient. I am unhappy, and going forward taking my GI care elsewhere!

I checked my bracelet and it had a similar first name to mine as well as a birthdate of November 1955. My birthdate is March 1974. The woman just heard my first name and said that I was there. She didn't bother to see that there were two women with similar names. Nor did she check my license or insurance ID to verify it was me. My husband asked to go home to grab something at check-in, and was told no. I finally got called back at 10:30. I was asked to go to the bathroom, and not flush. My BM was still brown. I was asked which solution I was prescribed, but I honestly did not know. Wouldn't they know if they prescribed it for me? I was also asked when I stopped taking pills, and I responded when the person I talked to through your company told me to stop. I was then told to go to the store, pick up (forgot name), and return at 1230. I went to the store as soon as I left the practice, picked up the product. Took an anti-nausea (that was prescribed) pill, and continued to drink the stuff. I believe I finished at noon. Got back to the office at 1230, where there was no receptionist. Someone finally got to me after waiting a few minutes. I told them I finished my drink at noon. They were shocked it took me so long to complete it. I had gastric surgery, so eating and drinking take me a long time. The anesthesiologist said I had to wait to be the last patient of the day because of the time I finished my drink. Completely understood for my safety. It is about 130 now. My husband had a DR appointment at 2 and asked to go there. They would end up saying yes, because he scheduled his appointment after he thought I would be home. I finally got pulled into the procedure room. I had to wait a long time for the doctor to come in. They finally started to put in the anesthesia. The Doctor then started the procedure, but didn't see that I was still awake. They had to place my IV in my other arm. Then I drifted off to sleep. While I was waiting in the pre-op room, I heard the nurses tell other patients about post-recovery. Not once did they tell me. At post-recovery, I had to ask about post-recovery. Honestly, there were to many issues with this office. I will NOT be returning.
