Shut.The.Front.Door! Pamela D. Is here! And she's Scottish with a fun accent! And she's a Mom!…read more I'm sooo looking forward to kid stuff! Table Top Cafe had killer drinks including make your own adult slurpee! Um, yes :-) Loved getting to catch up with Yelpers & meeting new people! See y'all at Deadmonton!

This was a small... somewhat quiet (but really, how quiet could it really be when a group of Yelp…read moreElites get together?) event that gave us the opportunity to meet the lovely Pamela D, our new CM. Pamela greeted everyone personally as they walked in the door. She was so on top of things! I have a hard time when meeting new people sometimes, but she gave me a hug and told me she recognized me from my picture. I felt really comfortable with her right away. Alright, alright, the accent definitely helped! The space was originally set up for us to break into smaller groups and play a few different games, but it quickly turned into a massive game of Cards Against Humanities and we got to see a different side of our fellow yelpers! I had not been to any of the MANY gaming cafe type establishments in the city before, so it was definitely cool to finally check one out. I have regular games nights with my friends so it was neat to see that in a different kind of setting. Change is hard.... there's no denying that. But I think the Edmonton Yelp Community is in good hands with Pamela and we're really lucky to have her!

It's been a long time since I came to the Edmonton Craft Beer Festival but boy was it ever fun!!…read moreThis event requires tickets to get in as well as purchasing tickets for drinks and food items once inside. So be prepared for that. This is an annual "festival" and it's super fun! Edmonton, Alberta, and abroad has so many craft breweries to showcase and this show does not disappoint. There is no way you can possibly try all the craft beers here so you'll need a strategy coming in and see what things you'd like to try most. We went around to many of the booths both food and drinks and tasted so many wonderful items. Highly recommend ubering or taxi once you're done here as you will likely be too intoxicated to drive. All the staff, the representatives pouring the drinks, and the people serving the food were all very friendly and helpful. There were plenty of clean bathrooms around the entire grounds and everything here was accessible.

I was very fortunate to win 2 VIP tickets to this event from Yelp! Thanks Yelp!…read more This event was really fun and well run! I went on Saturday evening, arrived around 7:45 but didn't realize last call was at 9:30. I bought 20 tickets and was scrambling to use them before last call. If you are able, I would recommend going earlier so you can leisurely enjoy your tickets. I also wished I had come earlier because I missed out on a peanut butter beer that everyone was raving about! I will have to find it at the liquor store. The venue is very large, so I never felt cramped, nor did I have to wait very long for beer tickets or samples. My favorite beer by far had to be Fruit Bat by Hell's Basement. It is a raspberry beer. I enjoy light beer and I also enjoy beer that has a fruity flavor. I do not enjoy fruity beers that verge on the cooler territory (beer that is so sweet and that does not even look like beer). Fruit Bat, on the other hand, looked like beer, tasted like beer, but had a punchy raspberry kick that was so refreshing. My favourite packaging goes to Analog Brewing. All of their packaging looks like old school video games. Their coasters looked like Nintendo controllers :) So cute. One of the booths I went to had a bar you could sit at, on saddle stools! They even had cowboy hats and bananas you could wear! I unfortunately cannot remember the name of this brewery. I did not eat at this event, nor did I get photo booth photos done.. I didn't have enough time. All the food looked delicious, especially the wing's at Northern Chicken. Drink tickets can be used for food, and vice versa. The photobooths looked fun too! I really enjoyed this event! Thanks Craft Beer Fest and Yelp!
