So at the low low price of FREE, the river valley is finally accessible to strollers, people who have mobility challenges, tourists, etc. via this neat little attraction (and a subsequent elevator). It's pretty great to have this available -- even if you simply don't want to take the stairs going in either direction (walking down stairs is often harder on the knees, walking up is often harder on the lungs, I find!).
I'm so glad that there's an accompanying staircase too (when the stairs here were closed it was really inconvenient), and at the bottom there's some great art, a lovely viewpoint and as I mentioned the elevator to take you down to the river area. We came down here on an absolutely gorgeous day and enjoyed taking this funicular down. The only hiccup in the process is that the double set of doors do not always stay open long enough to accommodate a bike pulling a trailer, or otherwise slower passengers. Still, it's a mighty awesome thing to have in our river valley, and I'm glad that it's there! read more
