It is truly…read morevast and contains a very wide variety of artifacts from a) a very wide range of countries and b) a fairly wide variety of time periods. You can easily spend a couple hours in here. Victorian china and silverware? Check. Scandinavian ceramics? Check. Southeast Asian statues? Check. This is a place where it really pays to look carefully. There jewelry collection is pretty substantial and has a wide variety of pieces. I had one find that blew me away: an Ancient Roman bronze belt buckle that had been turned into a pendant. Circa 100 CE. Pretty sure it was the oldest thing in the building, but I can't be absolutely sure. The employees were delightful to talk to and were very helpful on getting prices and showing me things in display cases. I got into a long conversation with an art historian over the aforementioned belt buckle. Prices range. I bought a pair of beautiful pillows for under 35 dollars. But there are some pieces here that are either so rare, unusual or simply intrinsically valuable that they are going to be an investment. This is by no means a thrift-store. Will definitely return.

Despite the insanely overpriced books and largely unimpressive offerings, understanding the "maybe…read moretoday" nature of these places, I'll pop in once a month or so to try my luck. Without fail, the duo of whomever is on the schedule to work the desk/register is: preoccupied, disinterested, dismissive and almost comically rude. This is so incongruous with the majority of folks who work in these types places -- most are Olympian small talkers so happy to work among cool things with history and to encounter 'their people' walking through the doors. It's almost like they wanted to work at Celine or Balenciaga but didn't fit the aesthetic profile so brought their (apparently contagious) shi**y attitude and unhelpful countenance to Lincoln and Palms. So if you're looking for those gigantic MCM lamps in seriously ugly colors, laughably 'naive' art and the aforementioned ridiculously expensive basic book fare, heading over to The Mart Collective where they'll surely make you feel unwelcome.

This is a lovely antique shop on Montana Ave specializing in imported antiques from Western Europe…read morefrom the 17th, 18th and 19th Century. They carry everything from large practical furniture including tables and desks, to pots and collectibles. The shop owners are warm and congenial Irish people, who are quite knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They're always bringing in new stock, so it is fun to stop in every so often to see what's new in the shop, and have a chat with them. If you're looking for high quality antiques, be it mirrors, chandeliers, lamps, furniture or collectibles, this should be your first stop!

A cute little prop shop in Venice. Came across this place as I was walking towards the beach. The…read moredoor was propped open but I didn't want to go in cause it was slightly closed as if it wasn't quite ready for customers. But on my way back from the beach, I noticed there were people that inside and boy was I surprised by the many items that were on display. I believe a lot of the items are rented out for props but there are also items that can be purchased as well. It was a cool, unexpected find and can't wait to bring my hubby here one of these days.

It does have a small but fascinating selection of unusual books, new and old for sale, as well as some fun trinkets and toys. The charming and gregarious owner claims that many of her props were used in the film Oppenheimer. I didn't realize that most prop shops are not open to the public, only to those "in the industry" so it was especially fun to have access to see this collection of things.

It's $25 to sell at this market so prices are lower than most markets. Free parking in back and on the streets. I have found rare records for cheap, trench art, old postcards, lots of very unique and cool stuff for a fraction of the price as Rose Bowl, Melrose, Long Beach or PCC. I actually don't like Melrose because entry fee and how much of a fashion show it is. Proceeds benefit the Venice Gondolier Booster Club. Venice HS was also where the movie Grease was filmed!

It appears that Atomic Threshold does not respond to their customers concerns…read more   We bought a dining room table and four chairs several years ago from Atomic Threshold.  The set was used about a dozen times as we rarely entertain.  We recently moved and started to use the set again.  One of the chair legs broke horizontally just below the seat.  We called Christian Boehr in May 2020, explained the break and asked if the chair could be repaired or replaced.  He asked us to send a photo of the chair and the break, which we did.  We called, texted and emailed and never heard back.  We were surprised to be "ghosted".
