We've played in this league for four seasons, and unfortunately, things have only gotten worse. The…read moreBuda/Kyle or "South Austin" division has become completely disorganized and unsafe. Referees often don't ref, rules aren't enforced, and we witnessed multiple kids get hurt this past season. The whole point of flag football is non-contact play and teaching kids teamwork and rules -- but instead, the lack of oversight has made it chaotic and unsafe. When parents or coaches try to raise safety concerns, some referees become argumentative rather than taking accountability. If you value your child's safety, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. We will no longer support this club until major changes are made, and I suggest other parents do the same.

They claim they cannot do the practices due to make up games for the rest of the season. There was only one practice and all the kids played street ball instead of real basketball during the games. My eight-year-old was in a 7 to 8 year-old league and ended up playing nine and 10-year-olds in the playoffs. The other team's kids were telling them their ages. You usually can see one or two kids in the entire league where you question their age. This team had five or six players that all looked over eight years old. I don't think this league checks ages or enforces them. It's pretty sad to allow a team to play down an age bracket just to win a championship.

The WAYA sport teams are coached by parent volunteers. The teams only play other WAYA teams. Many if not most of the teams are created by the coaches and are comprised of classroom groups that wind up playing together for years. The remaining teams are a random assortment of kids who sign up on the website. The kids who seems to have the best experience are those who are part of the pre-built teams. They all know each other, the parents know each other, and they often spend a lot of time socially outside of their time at WAYA. The expectations are rather high for them to perform well and build skills. The randomly formed teams are at a disadvantage in terms of feeling as if they belong and their coaches are starting from scratch each season because the only kid they know is likely their own child and maybe a few more. It took our family a few years to understand this dynamic as nobody really spells it out. Parents who don't know anybody need to come to WAYA ready to greet people, strike up conversations and make friends with other parents. Put yourself out there. It's really a special place and not a place to come and keep to yourself and ignore others, otherwise your kid will have a less than stellar experience. Think of it as a private club that allows visitors. Because that's what it is. And be a good visitor....better yet- join!

Now I couldn't tell you my ass from elbow when it comes to this sport which is why I sat on the side lines. Having grown up playing football (not the American version) and coached kids in the another Austin league. All the kids got equal time and same level of encouragement and respect. It's joy a to watch a great/good or even mediocre coach who's heart is the right place. An individual who's out there for kids. It's absolutely soul destroying to watch a bad couch just out there to relive his GLORY days thru a bunch of kids or more specifically thru his kids. If you don't have the patience to coach young kids, or your just in it for your own kids, get the **** off the field. You can probably guess who kids didn't level the field and got attaboy after attaboy. I watched my kids enthusiasm go from from 90 to 0 over the last 3 weeks. Today was the last game of the season and after talking with other parents who have/HAD children in your league this is symptomatic. I'm glad to say my kid will never be back. To anyone thinking of putting there kid in this program. Don't! WAYA you owe children better than this!.

I am 29yrs old and learning soccer for the first time and I couldn't imagine wanting to learn The Beautiful Game ANYWHERE ELSE IN AUSTIN. The coaches are amazing, the facility is very homely, I get stretched and learn new things in every class, and the pricing is reasonable for all the value that Eryck and Avila Soccer provide. From young to old, Eryck and all coaches implement a wide range of techniques that can't be duplicated by anyone else to help you learn the philosophy and execution of soccer. Avila Soccer is a gem of Austin, TX and I'm proud to be a member here!

So parents have to wait outside for a whole time in the car and AC on for almost 2 hours. Also, the place is not so clean, not sure when they clean last time? Restrooms are dirty! They should take the piano away! It's so loud!

We have played on several different youth sports organizations, and National Youth Sports is one of…read morethe most organized that we have ever been in. I am very happy that Northside ISD (which is where I receive the fliers from) support this organization; because it definitely is one of the best out of other options here in SA. We have been very grateful to be placed on teams where the volunteer parent coaches are extremely engaged and try their hardest to create practices throughout the week to ensure the kiddos are remaining active and engaged in their sports. My boys are a bit older now and we have used NYS for years, but once my daughter turns 3 and is eligible to enroll in soccer/baseball, National Youth Sports will definitely be my first call. Thanks NYS!

We are a Military Family that are PCSing soon, the organization failed to roster a full team and had no practices or any meeting so far this season with our first game Saturday with not enough players to play, I asked if we could pull out and get reimbursed since no service had been given and we would be moving in a couple weeks. Tina then let me know it's not their responsibility and it's actually mine as the parent. I would highly advise literally anyone looking for an organization to have their kids play sports to steer clear of NYS and Tina.
