Awful. No food. Over 40 minutes. No option to get help. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. It's basically a scam.

I was on the hunt for a delicious latte at the airport, but options can be limited and pricey--I've paid as much as $10 for an iced coffee at another airport! So I decided to check out the REEF virtual food hall, and I'm glad I did. Ordering was a breeze, and my coffee was only $6, similar to what I'd pay outside. After placing my order, I received a text with instructions and tracking. When my coffee was ready, I simply scanned the QR code at the main locker check-in to open my locker. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the coffee was exactly what I hoped for--rich and tasty! It made my wait at the airport much more enjoyable. read more

With the limited options and not-so-great choices at RDU, this was a nice addition to Terminal 2 at RDU. We placed our orders at the kiosk for American Meltdown. I liked that with the ghost kitchen, you have a wide variety of "restaurants" & cuisines you could choose from so there's always something for everyone. We entered our phone # so they kept us updated on the progress of our order and alerted us when it was ready. It took 15 mins from start to finish. The food - My Scarborough Fair (grilled Gouda with herb pesto on sourdough) was piping hot, delightfully cheesy and large enough for 2 people! The loaded tots was also a huge portion of crispy cheesy tots with lots of bacon. The food was a nice surprise for airport food since it was hot, freshly made and very good! I definitely recommend trying this out & looking forward to trying some of the other restaurant choices available. read more

This place is about as hit-or-miss as it gets. Usually miss. The drunken noodles taste like tomato (there's no tomato in drunken noodles). The chicken was overcooked. Rubbery and tasteless. They give you a lot, hence the second star. Otherwise this dish tastes like tomato bootyhole. read more

Pizza review only. They branded the pizza concept as "800 Degrees" as if it came out of a wood burning pizza oven, but this is clearly a glorified toaster oven, easy bake pie that should be priced at $5, not $13. Recommend renaming to "350" degrees to reflect a pie straight from the frozen pizza aisle. I forgot to mention, this pie was lukewarm out of the box, so clearly it was sitting around for a good 5-10minutes, so thanks for the unnecessary wait! I rarely write reviews but this offense to the pizza gods could not be left unchallenged. read more

I always go for the tater tots, lemon poppyseeds muffin, and a packaged drink. Smoothies are super runny and taste awful so I would definitely skip those. The Pei Wei rice bowls are mostly rice so I'll skip those, too. I haven't had much luck with actually meals here, but the 3 items above (tots, muffin, and packaged drinks) are consistently delicious and have the best value for your $$. If you are crew, you also get a 10% discount but you'll have to knock on the white door on the left to have a staff member manually enter the promo code for you. read more

I had 30 minutes before I had to board my plane so I thought I'd try out this "virtual restaurant." I had noticed before when I was going though RDU and it seemed like a clever idea. You order and pay at a screen or scan a QR code to order using your phone, and the food is delivered through one of the rows of lockers. I ordered a burrito using the screen and entered my phone number and email address and paid using a card. Once I paid, it said I would receive a text telling me how to retrieve my food from the locker. The text never came. After 30 minutes I had to get on the plane without my food. I checked my credit card app and sure enough the payment had gone through. Hours later, after I arrived at my destination, I still hadn't received a text, and I was very careful and double checked to make sure I had entered the right digits for my phone. I never received a receipt in my email, either. They sure aren't lying when they say it's virtual. Even the food is virtual, as is the customer service. read more

Pleasantly surprised by my experience at the get REEF Virtual Food Hall! Ordered the Spicy Drunken Noodles and Thai Donuts (comes w/ condensed milk) from Pei Wei Asian Diner. Obvs can't expect the same level of quality as from a restaurant, but both items were tasty. Donuts were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. Noodles were spicy & had a good amount of meat and veggies. Good portion size for both items. Fast & convenient service, airport ambiance. 7/10 would recommend! read more

Interesting concept. We ordered at 12:55 and were given an estimate of 1:05-1:15. Our food was ready at 1:15. Looking back - when you place your order it seems phone number is optional. But not sure - once we ordered (providing a phone number) we received a text to "track" our order. And then texted a code to unlock the food locker. I had the quesadilla which was definitely a big portion. It wasn't super hot when I got it - so I assume it sat around while my husband grilled cheese was being made. read more

This place is located in Raleigh-Durham Airport. There is a list of places you can order from at the location in the airport or online. One reviewer stated that they do not indicate when your order will be ready, however, our experience is they did tell us it would be ready in 15 minutes. You can see in one of the photos that they do have alot of food apparently ready in back. Our food, however, was hot and seemed fresh. It did not seem like food that was sitting around. We got a pizza and a quesadilla. Both were good sized and not that expensive for airport food. They do have a variety of options. As far as the timing, I would not cut it down to the nearest minute but their time estimates did seem pretty accurate. I have used this twice now. Once for a sandwich and once for drunken noodles from Pei Wei. Both times it was relatively quick. Unfortunately there are no tables you can sit at, so it is a get your food and then eat on your lap at your gate. While Terminal 2 at RDU should be much better when everything opens, right now it is kind of a food desert so it is good to have this available. read more

First time checking out the Reef Virtual food hall, but it will not be my last. I like how I was able to easily access the kiosk and select from several restaurants. I ended up selecting a Mexican spot, and I really liked that I got to customize my rice bowl. There were tons of choices, and the ingredients were very fresh. Also, compared to what I thought the prices would be, it was actually pretty reasonable. My food came out pretty quickly, and the only trouble I had was opening the door. After trying to unsuccessfully open it twice, a super nice staff member came out and brought me my order. This also happened when my chips were missing. I like that there is someone you can reach out to if you have any questions. Cannot wait to come back. read more

Tried this while waiting for my flight. It's pretty neat that you can order from one if the kiosks, pay right there and just have to wait for your order to be put into one of the lockers. The whole process took about 10 mins. You get a text when its ready, you put the code into the locker screen and it opens. I ordered a chicken quesadilla from Xochimex Cantina Grill. It was about $14, pretty typical. But so worth it, it was packed with chicken, pico de gallo, queso, corn and black beans. You can pick what you want and don't want on it during the ordering process. It was fresh, super tasty and came with a side of chips. Some salsa would've been nice but that wasn't an option. What a neat concept!! Love the idea that you can order from a bunch of different spots in one stop. I was here for a morning flight and wanted to try out Beyu Cafe. I ordered a chai and it was delicious! You can order on the kiosk or scan the QR code and order online. I visited on their second day open and unfortunately the cubes were already broken, but the staff was happily passing items out. I saw Zinburger is also there which I've always been a fan of as well. You could potentially even order while waiting in security if you were in a rush. Overall a neat concept! Always happy to have more food options at the airport. Pretty sure my wife and I got food poisoning from Asian food from this place (dumplings, egg rolls and drunken noodles)

30 minutes after the food wait estimation range (50 min after ordering), I still had no food. I ordered a smoothie (worked in food service before... it's a quick blend and serve - 2 min max). I ordered at 530am, so not as busy as it can get. Avoid this service for your sanity until they fix this. People were close to missing their flights hoping to get their food with 40min beyond expectations. read more

Reef Virtual Food Hall is a concept of like a pop-up restaurant. You know how you get something from Uber eats, but then you find out that they actually make the wings inside an Applebee's and then they serve them to you? That's kind of the gist with Reef. Everything is made in house, doesn't matter the restaurant. If you're getting tacos itsmade by the same people making your pizza, which is made by the same people making your poke bowls, which is made by the same people baking your brownies. And nothing is wrong with that, but the quality can suffer just a little bit (my friend got a quesadilla that had chocolate on it lol). I got some wings and they didn't have an option of naked. They only had a few wet flavors. The prices were airport prices, so I'm not really excited about that. The loss of one star is really just for not being notified that your food is ready. You have to kind of just stand there. They ask for your phone number but you don't get a message. I had to go to the website and keep refreshing before it told me that my order was ready. But when I did get my food, the wings were good they gave me enough blue cheese, napkins, and utensils. That was great. read more

Great concept, horrible execution. Got a burrito bowl, everything went pretty smoothly as far as the ordering and delivery process. Items are relatively reasonably priced if the food were any good, but the food was a disaster, so a pretty bad deal overall. The bowl was, no exaggeration, 95% rice, a teaspoon of horrible quality "steak", and they were missing the majority of the items I requested, including the extra chicken and guacamole, both of which I paid an up charge for. I wasn't expecting a gourmet meal, but I wasn't expecting dog food either. The process for correcting orders is to text some 800 number, who went back and forth with me even after I sent a picture of the food. They asked me to go back to the delivery area, but I was already boarding at that point. Eventually they agreed to refund for the items missing, but the meal was a disaster and I ended up not being able to eat the majority of it. Ended up having to order another meal when I landed. My food was ready at 6:03pm.  I received my order as described, Pei Wei's firecracker chicken. Food was hot and it was tasty. 4 stars because it's not as good as a real Pei Wei. And by that I mean I think they serve mostly pre-portioned food that they heat up by alternative means. At a real Pei Wei the food usually hits a skillet over a flame at some point and the chicken is always crispy. This is not that. read more

If your food ever arrives, it is probably decent from what I've heard. I wouldn't know because I never got my food. I placed an order, received the text confirming my order, and waited over 35 minutes and never got my food and had to leave. I thought I'd give this a try since this is the way America is going with Americans choosing not to work. My experience substantiates my experience. I ordered chicken tenders with truffle Parm fries. What I got was tenders with bland waffle fries. There is no interface with a human to correct a problem. There is a phone number to call but you're speaking to Bangladesh. I called and they had a hard time understanding the issue. Once they did, they wanted to provide me another number to talk to someone here at the airport but I was about to get on my flight. Nor ability to refund a whooping $2.50. I could've let it go but did this just to see if good customer service could be provided but clearly, there is no customer service. Took 25 minutes to receive cold nachos. That's not even a kind of food that requires cooking. I peeked in the window on the door and I saw they stacked up 7 different bags waiting on the table before they put any of them in the window, so they're just making sure the food sits for a while and cools down before it gets to you. There were no restaurants open and I decided to utilize the virtual kiosk. They have a great selection from 5 of so restaurants at reasonable prices. First impression: I'm at an airport, and Reef does NOT give any indication of when your order will be ready (neither before nor after ordering!). This is big because you wouldn't be at an airport if you don't have a flight to catch lol. The selection is generally good. The kiosks lead to very quickly placing your order, which does speed up the process. The prices are very reasonable. I'm not sure if this is just a plan to get people to try it out, or it's the long term pricing, but the prices are not crazy for airport food. It took me 17 minutes to get my own Zinburger. I ordered a Zinburger because I know exactly what it should be. That was not a Zinburger. The burger I got was okay, but more of a good fastfood patty, and not a thick, juicy gourmet burger patty. Nothing else was open in the area to get food, but Get Reef was. It was easy to order and the food was really good and fresh. The concept of this was really interesting which is why i ordered anyway. I ordered tenders tossed in bbq and fries. My order comes out and it happens to not be tossed in bbq. Of course I'm like ok, what should I do? Because this is completely virtual. Luckily, in the confirmation email theres a phone number that you can text if you are having issues. I text the number and they were very responsive. I was able to meet someone and give them my food back so that they can fix it. I will say everyone was really nice. Although virtual, the customer service was top tier. Now you're wondering if the food was good right? It was! Haha. The tenders were so juicy and the waffle fries were delicious!
