They helped me out in what really could've turned out bad for me with my car leaking fluid

This place is awful, they said they were going to work on my vehicle, after a week of waiting with no alternate form of transportation we called and it turned out they confused my vehicle with a different vehicle and had done no work on it. After, they charged us $150 for inspection, not caring about the whole inconvenience. I had to pay more money for a tow out of their lot. They also didn't give a correct inspection we later found out after having it checked. Save your money. Don't go here. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Spent over a grand and still not fixed More like NOT getRdone then make excuses as to why they haven't fixed it. First, they talk about the pride of being Veteran owned, and how they take care of vets.. that made me feel great working with them.. I tell them my check engine light was on and my heater wasn't blowing hot. They tell me it's not a problem. After about a week and OVER A GRAND LATER, they tell me my car is fixed. I was excited to not only get my car back, but to meet these veterans. Well, I get home and my light was still on and the heater still didn't blow hot. They cheerfully say oh, bring it back in. After they "work" on the car again, they claim it's fixed and ready to go. Once again, the heater still isn't blowing warm. I told them that they should refund some of the over $1,100 I paid since they didn't fix either issue I brought the car in for. they said I could either bring the car back to them (3rd or 4th time), or we could part ways. I said seeing how you charged me over a grand for things I didn't bring it in for, I honestly do not feel comfortable bringing it back to you a 4th time. They said "well then we part ways). Based on my experience, and As I sit in my car with the heater full blast and windows up, I'm not warm at all. You will most likely spend more money then you need to, and your car still won't be fixed! read more

first off let me mention this, he tries to charge you 150$ an hour... he's normally the only one in the shop to work on cars(I know this because it's a small shop and was asking people for help and nobody came through to help him, dude is a scam I highly recommend going somewhere else to get your car worked on. I was simply just going for an oil change and for him to just check my brakes out cause they were grinding.( I ended up just calling one of my buddies to use his tools to check the brakes out myself) read more

This is the go to Auto spot if you want your money's worth hands down. They really take pride in what they are doing and actually do their job and not just give you fancy words. They also are great at BMW, I drive a BMW and the thing about BMW is that it requires special attention if something goes wrong, and not just any mechanic can fix them. In a nut shell: I had brought my truck in for a knock sensor to be replaced ($700). A week later it's ($1300) still not fixed. Another week goes by ($1800) and I'm told my truck is ready. Upon my inspection of the "completed" work I found damaged hoses, clamps, wiring, and even a missing bolt from thermostat amongst that all they had the gall to tell me those things are like that because your truck is old. When asked why the price kept jumping I got one excuse after another and that the mechanic that worked on my truck from start to finish had been off due to his inability to work because of alcoholism or was fired. Neither explanation seemed legit as I saw the individual who worked on my truck in the bay walking or pacing and not working. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful for anyone looking to get work done to their car without the paranoia of being ripped off. I needed the front axle on my vw golf replaced (btw Goodluck finding somewhere else in the area that does work on VWs). The part ended up being 30 dollars more than what I was told, did they charge me the extra 30 dollars? No, they bit the bullet and paid the difference themselves because customer satisfaction means more to them than making a pretty penny. This has been our go-to shop for four years. From an inspection or oil change to complete engine replacement, they're competitive, thorough and knowledgeable. My husband always says when we move all we need is a good church and a good mechanic (I'd add an awesome hair salon to that list!!!) and we hit the jackpot here. This is the shadiest shop around. Wish I could give it no stars. If you are female and don't have a clue they will try to stick it to you in in-needed repairs. This has happened to 2 different friends of mine. Obe of the vehicles, the repair they said she needed was done a week prior by me. In both cases the ladies were smart enough to get second oppinions and both cases there was nothing wrong with the vehicles. Be very wary if you go here. The service here is remarkably fast, probably due to the influx of business that Get R Done is CONSTANTLY receiving from all around Watertown, Black River, and pretty much anywhere else in the area. They work efficiently and have a great, NO BS attitude about your car. I've had my vehicle serviced at Get R Done twice, and can honestly say they go above and beyond what is expected. They don't do any of their own advertising yet they are always overflowing with business; do the math yourself. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever received. Had my vehcile towed to them for a fuel tank solenoid issue where my engine was not receive fuel when the accelerator was pressed. They had my vehicle from Monday afternoon untill Thursday and I was constantly lied to about it being "next in line". When arriving at the establishment I spoke with the manager who informed me that his workers were blowing smoke up people's butts as to not make them angry. He then proceeded to tell me that he would do our diagnostic and smog check for free since we weren't yelling and screaming at him. Two days later he tells us our entire engine needs to be replaced and that it would cost 2800$. I decided to take the vehicle back and get a third opinion. When the tow truck arrived he would not release the vehicle to the tow driver claiming that I owed him 85$ for diagnostic. DIAGNOSTICS THAT HE CLAIMS HE NEVER RAN BECAUSE HE LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND NOTICED THE TIMING BELT SLIPPED AND MESSED UP THE ENGINE. I will be speaking to the attorney general's office about the unethical practises this company seems to follow. read more

Called one afternoon and they helped coordinate towing for my truck, gave me an accurate estimate on what was wrong with it, and took it in the same day. They coordinated with my warranty company and got my truck back running like new with all new parts and ready to go by the next morning. The staff was friendly knowledgeable and gave me good preventive maintenance tips. I am definitely returning here for all future maintenance issues. read more

My experience with Get R Done was the absolute worst experience I've ever encountered with any company. I HIGHLY advise you take your business elsewhere. My experience with Get R Done began Feb. 25, 2016 when I thought I had blown my radiator. I told them I would also like them to fix the heater in my car since it wasn't blowing hot air, also asked them to fix my gauges and bought the wiring set and left it in the front seat. I received a call from the mechanic and was told my radiator was fine and asked if they still wanted to install the radiator I purchased. I told them yes. I received a phone call and was told that the motor had overheated and it would need a new head gasket. I said go ahead and fix it. I received another call and was told the motor was too damaged and I would need another one. Apr. 21st, 2016 I received a phone call and was told that in order to fix my car, I would have to come in and pay a portion of my bill because they couldn't make payroll. I came in and paid $1000. I called weekly to try and get an update on my car and I was told multiple things. One was that the owner Steven (who owns Florida Fine Cars & Trucks LLC) had cars from the dealership that had priority to be fixed first. I received another call and was told my car was almost done but I needed a new clutch.They ordered the wrong clutch, then they broke the alignment tool and had to order another one. May 26th, 2016 I received a call that my car was done but when they took it for a test drive they noticed that the turbo was broken. I spoke to many mechanics about this and was told by every one that the shop should have realized the turbo was no good if the motor had overheated. I was told I needed a new turbo and my response was to purchase it and fix my car. I asked them to replace the Banjo bolt which is mandatory to replace when changing the turbo. They did not replace it. June 27th, 2016 I received a call and was told my car was finished being put together and when they went for a test drive the car was smoking. I was told that the head gasket wasn't installed properly and they would have to send the car to Best Machine & Crankshaft Co because he was the one who did the work. Two weeks went by and I hadn't heard from anyone. I went to Best Machine & Crankshaft Co and spoke to the owner who said he didn't have the time to pressure test the car and he would get it done by the following week. Another week and I went to Best Machine & Crankshaft Co and spoke to the owner who said he didn't have time. While there I found damage to my right quarter panel. After a month I get a call that the radiator hose was loose. July 6th, 2016 I received a call that my car was finished. Got to the shop and started my car and saw that the engine check light as well as other lights on the dashboard were on. I asked themand they said it will go away. I drove my car to base and the car was misfiring. Took the car to AutoZone and used the code reader and verified cylinder 4 was misfiring. I called Get R Done and spoke to Steven who told me, "Auto Zones code readers are crap, bring the car to the shop and we'll read it." Took the car to them and their mechanic told me that it should go away after a few day. Also AC was making a loud noise and they did to their best to quiet it but it still made noise. The heater and the gauges were still not fixed. I was told all the work done had a one year parts and labor warranty and could used anywhere. I moved out of state in Sept. Nov. 25th, 2016 my clutch lost pressure. I took my car to a Subaru shop and was told whoever installed clutch didn't install the Allen head plug which broke the throw out fork pivot rod. I called, spoke to Steven who said he would rather pay it himself then go through the warranty. After two months, I called and said I would like to go through the warranty. Was told me they aren't liable and I have to send them my car so they can inspect it before starting a claim. They have refused to speak with the Subaru shop and have stopped returning my calls. Excellent service. My car wasn't starting and I had to get it towed to their shop. But the service was super fast.

Needed an inspection done, and called to see if I could make an appt. (Even with the dumb name, it is closest shop for me) The guy at the front desk was very chipper and said they only do them between 8-8:30 (lame) but "If you're here by 8, we'll get ya done and outta here". I was there promptly at 8, just in time to see one of the mechanics open the bays and be very obvious that he was rather dismayed at the number of waiting customers, complete with the lovely throwing hands in the air and head shaking. Nice to see you, too. I went into the front office (it's the small, dirty, barely working one on the front of the building. If when you open it you see a dirty, empty quarter-operated candy dispenser from the Reagan Administration, you picked the right one!) I looked around and saw a room already full of tired and harassed looking men. The front desk attendant then came in, half awake and turned on the little tv. He kinda barked if anyone needed anything, and I approached the counter (a lovely filthy wood slab w pictures of old crap sealed under browned shellac and filth) and told him I was there for an inspection. He suddenly became nicer (as I'm female, I'm sure), and told me to take a seat. I declined and sat in my vehicle for about 45 minutes, during which I saw a young man get yelled at for daring to try to ask a mechanic a question, and more indications as to how much said mechanic dislikes his job and, I believe, life in general. It was finally my turn, and after a few minutes he lumbered from the bay and gave me the annoyed "get the hell over here" motion followed by "go the the side door so you don't hurt yourself!" (as though I would just walk under the truck...) He then informed me he couldn't pass it due to the brakes being "metal-on-metal" (I knew they needed changing, but far cry from that) so I told him to put it back together and headed into the office. I had no idea at the time whether I had to pay the inspection fee or not. The front desk guy looked very concerned, even made sure to walk out to the shop floor, came back and informed me the were doing me the favor of not charging me, as he stopped the inspection there. But, boy, he didn't have to, and he informed me that anyone else would've ripped me off. How sweet! Problem is, you're not charged for a failed inspection in NY, you only pay the fee upon passing. Took it home, hubby informed me of this, was very unhappy, changed the brakes himself and it passed somewhere else the next morning. Oh, and the brakes, while needed to be changed, were far from "metal on metal". Bottom line: this place sucks. They are sweet on the phone, but rude and borderline abusive to their customers, the mechanic is an ass (be grateful to be working in this economy, guy) they seem to dislike having work to do, and then lie about having to do it. And it's gross. And not because I'm a girl in a garage, it's just gross. I wouldn't go here again if I had a gun to my head. Who would've guessed with such a reputable name? read more

Get R Done is a fantastic company to work with when your car needs repairs and you find yourself at the mercy of unsavory dealerships. My Honda S2000 had been in perfect condition for nine years and after driving it cross country from Fort Irwin, CA to Fort Drum, NY it started having all sorts of problems. It was constantly low idling, not wanting to start, and sometimes even stalling out while driving on the highway. I took it to TWO Honda dealerships and neither could figure out what was wrong with it, both of their solutions were just to replace the engine - a nightmarish proposal when you're strapped for cash. Anyway, I took it to Get R Done because I had heard they were honest and fairly priced. I figured I had nothing to lose because no one else could figure out what was going on and I just wanted my car back. Steve was wonderful, I probably bugged him to no end calling almost every day to check in and see what the progress was in diagnosing and fixing my car. Turns out there were a lot of complicated issues that had snowballed into ruining my engine, but Steve took the time to keep me updated and make the effort to find the most cost-effective solution. They did a complete engine-rebuild and my car drives like brand-new. Steve and his team took the time to learn about the intricacies of my persnickety car to make sure they did the job right, and rather than throw their hands up and say "well, we can't figure it out so we'll just replace the engine" they were able to diagnose the problem and fix it for me. I enjoyed my interactions with him and his team, I feel like I can trust them, and I will definitely be using them for all my car needs while living here in upstate New York. read more
