Uncle Sam's Candy stays on point when it comes to their products, quality, selection, and most importantly, their customer service. Their customer service is impeccable, and that means a lot to me. You can have a great product, but when you combine that with people who genuinely take care of their customers, that's what keeps folks coming back. Whenever I need some good treats for Valentine's Day, Christmas, Easter, birthdays, or really any holiday or special occasion, Uncle Sam's Candy is one of those places where I already know I'm going to go in and spend some money. From the chocolates and candies to all the different specialty treats, there's always something that catches your eye. And being a chef, I appreciate businesses that take pride in what they put out. Presentation matters. Quality matters. Consistency matters. And the experience you give your customers matters just as much as the product itself. I also believe in supporting businesses that continue to provide great products and great service. When people treat you right and consistently deliver, you show that appreciation by continuing to support them. It's not good business to advertise that the shop closes at 8:30 if you're not really open fully. Very annoying!

Several of the flavors that I enjoy (Raspberry, Peanut Butter... or combine them together in your mouth for a PB&J) have been discontinued. That occurred sometime in 2018 as last Christmas both were missing as well. I get that they sometimes will rotate or drop flavors but neither of these two should be missing. By all means, get rid of the gross flavors that no one wants but these two are traditional. Not only did we vocalize our comments to the manager, but other customers were overheard to also ask for raspberry. But that is not why I am downgrading my review. They offer a fold-up booklet that lists all of the flavors of truffles offered because most of the candies themselves aren't labeled on the outside (except perhaps the ones containing nuts... a smart idea). But, the booklet is outdated. It lists several experimental flavors, doesn't show all of the ones available in 2019, and yup... it has raspberry listed. Grrrr. Since most people receiving these as gifts have no idea what is inside the chocolate we need the guide book for reference. When they update it, they will get their star back (and when they bring back raspberry they will get their fifth).
