I notice this Wallpaper shop has only got one review already and I wonder why? I've just finished redecorating my bedroom and after driving my lovely daughter round the bend in helping me decide on colours not to mind wallpaper choices, I headed for Gerry Keanes in Talbot Street. My indecision was probably compounded by the fact that I decided to keep my favourite 'designers guild' curtains and match them to the new decor! Carrying my existing heavy curtains, I entered Gerry Keanes with a smile on my face when I saw the massive display of wallpaper, feeling confident that I was in luck at last! A fairly helpful young assistant took me upstairs to view the range on display having told me that they had nothing downstairs in the cheaper range that would match my curtains - but alas was of no help whatsoever in helping me choose a suitable design, stating that the usual guy who worked in this Dept was 'off today'! However, she did let me take samples of 3 wallpapers home with me. She said the other female assistant down stairs with probably be more helpful ....not so...a really surly lady...whom I wont name......suggested a totally unsuitable paper and swiftly informed me that they could only give me 3 samples and I had already got these upstairs! Just as I was about to leave the shop, I spotted a really nice wallpaper which had all the colour combinations that I was looking for and after a little persuasion the surly assistant agreed to give me a sample to take away! To end my story, I loved this sample when I took it home (much to the relief of my daughter!!) and when I went on line to order the paper I noticed that Gerry Keanes had a wholesale depot just off Killeen Road and a most pleasant gentleman who answered the phone said they would be delighted to sell me the wallpaper directly as it was much more convenient for me than traipsing all the way into the city centre again! A happy ending with, at last, a most helpful and pleasant member of Gerry Keane staff in the wholesalers - who 'threw in' the paste for free....my newly decorated bedroom is now a place of sweet dreams! read more
