Gerome's makes quality old-fashioned sausages, but be prepared for the high prices. The Broccoli Rabe and Sharp Provolone was always a favorite of my parents. My pops used to say it was the only sausage he would grill that wouldn't make a crazy mess. They share a parking lot with the other businesses in the shopping strip so you'll have no issues parking. The staff was nice and knowledgeable of their product. The owner walked by a couple of times and couldn't even give me a good morning, but a regular walked in and he greeted him. Guess I need to visit more often? I stopped in to grab some hot fennel sausage, but wound up walking out with a lot more. A lb. each of Smoked Kielbasa, Jalapeño and Cheddar, Broccoli Rabe and Sharp Provolone joined the hot fennel. Expect to pay $12 and change a lb. which is pretty typical for a meat market. That's pretty nuts considering you can buy a lb. of Premio for around $5-$6 from a grocery store. You can also buy bulk sausage for say a lasagna which I did. My wife likes to mix their mild and hot when she makes hers. They also sell fresh and frozen pasta, sauces/gravy, some antipasti, bread and pantry items like Centro branded ingredients and Italian sweets. I grilled my sausages around 350 degrees until they reached temp and they were delightful. The smoked kielbasa is already cooked so I warmed that up for 10-15 mins in an oven and served with cheeses and pretzels/crackers. Everyone who got a taste loved them. Gerome's is a nice spot to treat yourself once in awhile. You're going to spend more money, but honestly the sausages aren't a greasy mess like the bigger brands. The hot fennel could be hotter in my humble opinion. read more

I came to this place on a recommendation from a friend. I trusted his taste in food, and the fact that the place has the same name as my trisnonno was an added bonus. Wow. I really can't handle how amazing this place is. While there are some fresh pastas and little candies from the old country, the main attraction is the eponymous sausage that greets you in hefty wafts as you open the door. (that could also be the free samples in the crockpot on top of the display case). There are generally about 10-15 or so varieties that are in stock, but the classic sweet and hot sausage (which is legitimately hot!), with or without fennel, is always in plentiful supply. This is hands down the best sausage you can find around. When my family buys a few pounds, it rarely lasts more than a day, while all the guys of the house end up in a sausage-induced food daze all weekend. It's truly beautiful. In summary, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you want to blow everyone away with your sausage selection, look no further. They have, hands down, the BEST sausage we have ever eaten. Every flavor has been amazing, with special props for the cheesesteak and pizza sausage. While I live in California, I grew up in Bucks County before joining the military. On one of my return trips to the homestead, my mom served up some of the green pepper and provolone sausage from Gerome's. I was hooked. That was well over 30 years ago. Now that I live in California, I have missed eating some "real Italian" sausage. The stuff in CA is fake. (But we knew that) A few weeks ago I ordered 7 pounds of sausage for a workplace pot luck. I had to laugh as I watched each person bite into the slow cooked sausage. It was as if they had finally tasted Italian for the first time. I kept on getting requests to see if there was any leftovers for the next couple days. I have again ordered another 7 pounds for the Christmas gathering at my wife's family residence, a big family, and will be expecting the same reaction as they taste it for the first time. I want to also say that I am so impressed with the outstanding customer service that I have gotten on both of these orders. Yes, its the best sausage, no bits of fat to chew on. Delish with plenty of varieties. I don't live locally and make the trip to Gerome's every time I visit my son in PA. Now that I have made it for friends, they are all hooked and its a must I bring it home for them. We place it in an aluminum pan with green peppers and Vidalia onions and some olive oil, cover with aluminum foil and bake it on the grill. When the peppers and onions are cooked and soft, the sausage is too (check in about 45 minutes) You will love it for sure!! read more
