I am very happy with how my car turned out! I have never been in an accident in my life so I really didn't know what to expect! It was extremely upsetting when someone ran into the back of my brand new car while I was sitting at a red light! When my husband and I arrived to Gerber Collision a gentleman named Shane assisted us. He went over everything on the car and what would be done to correct it all. Shane was very easy to deal with and kept giving me constant updates so we knew what was going on. I have no complaints whatsoever as of this time!! I had my car brought in to have my front-end repaired took over 2weeks to de fixed.i finally pick up the car and 2days later I run out of winnd shield washer go to fill it and t he neck of the bottle is not attached I take it back then 2 days later I'm out again go to fill it and it pours out like a sive.i call again I'm told I will have to orange new one and I will call when in.and all through this process i never one time hot air call i had to call every time and no one ever answers the phone this is in russkin,florida. read more

We revisited this car shop because they do great work. I accidentally closed the garage on my moms car (I thought it was in all the way-- turns out, it wasn't). I was able to wipe off some of the scrapes /scuffs with just the towel but there was minor marks that only someone looking with intention would see. My dad took the BMW x4 to the shop and manager, jeremiah, was there remembered us and got it fixed free of charge. It was a small marks but it's the customer loyalty & service that stands out in situations like these! read more

This place has a small, under manned front office, it's not very fancy, a bit messy even, and I had my doubts when I left my car. Plus, the estimated time before they could even get to my car was over a month, but, in their defense, it was during the holidays. When I finally got my Lexus SUV back, I was totally blown away. They did a great job! There was no evidence of the accident at all. A car had backed into my door on the passenger side, significant'y messing up the door and the front quarter panel. Now, it looked like it had never happened, and they did a great job! As they say, never judge a book by its cover. The end result was great, and I would recommend this shop to anyone. Do not bring your vehicle to any Gerber Collision & Glass location! Especially the Ruskin location. My experience was not good. Gerber Collision & Glass clearly work for the insurance company and not the customer. I worked with Chris Bruns and he was terrible to work with and he will lie to your face. Says he will do something and doesn't do it. Gerber Collision & Glass used refurbished parts, the seams were not clean and there were clear gaps.. The paint was not matched well to the rest of the car... I made a huge mistake bringing my vehicle here. They did a "piss poor" job fixing it. I wasn't even treated like a customer, they just took my car and started repairs, decided what needed to be done and negotiated it with the insurance company before they bothered to call me to ensure my concerns were met. Its my policy. My insurance. I am supposed to be the customer. Not at Gerber Collision & Glass. Their customer is the insurance companies, that use these "Chop Shops" to repair cars at a discount. read more

Our Suburban was hit by another vehicle but was fully driveable, cosmetic damage only. After 4 days we contacted the other driver's insurance company, as we had not heard from them, only to find out that no one had informed them of the incident. Gerber is local to us so we took it there, with all the insurance information from the person who hit us. They gave us an estimate, higher than the estimator that came to our home to see the damage, but the estimator said they do business with Gerber, we could take it there. Chris at Gerber told us it would be a couple weeks before they could fit us in, no problem. When they called to say our vehicle was ready we went to Gerber, expecting to get it and go, only to be told by Chris that the insurance company was probably going to deny the claim, they have up to 120 days to deny or accept responsibility anyway, and Gerber couldn't release the vehicle until the work was paid for. WE couldn't be without our vehicle that long! Wrote a personal check. On the way home stopped at the other driver's home and gave them a copy of the bill, told them if we didn't have reimbursement in a weeks time (it was a Friday) we would be taking legal action. Saturday we got a call from the insurance telling us they were accepting responsibility and had already sent payment to Gerber. Early Monday morning I called Gerber and said "don't cash my check, the insurance is going to pay it; too late, they processed it already. I asked about the insurance payment and was told it takes 3-5 business days for them to have access to the funds. Today I called and was told they had received the insurance payment. Of course I asked "when do we get our refund? Can the company wire it into our account? OH, NO! That comes from the corporate office and takes 2-4 WEEKS!! EXCUSE ME?! WHAT?! Yup, 2-4 weeks, as much as a month, for them to process our refund, holding OUR MONEY! This is NOT acceptable! read more

I ran over a 2x4 and in the process I lost a curved molding piece by my rear tire. I called Gerber and spoke with Jeremiah, who happened to pick up the phone. With his assistance, I was able to get the replacement part which he then installed for me. Jeremiah is personable, knowledgeable, and a great mechanic. I have a 2017 Ford Fusion and someone tapped my rear bumper and the valance, which is the lower part of the three part bumper, popped out. I went to Gerber since they are fairly close to my home. Terbal he office is not open to the public because of COVID concerns but an employee came out to give me a estimate on repairing the valance. He looked at it for about 10 seconds and gave me a verbal estimate of $1,000 with a long lead time for repair. I got another estimate from Carmetics in Brandon and they gave me an estimate for $400 but at least they took about 10 minutes to review the repair and prepare an written estimate. After looking at the damage a little closer I decided that I might be able to pop the valance back in myself. With a little help from a friend we were able to put the valance back into place for $0 cost. So in summary beware! read more

I made the mistake of taking my car there for repair! Some of the damage to my car they denied was due to the wreck I was in. I had to get an independent investigator through the insurance company to evaluate their findings. I would NEVER take a car there again! They were rude, lied and admitted they had multiple people quitting and were understaffed. Run don't walk away from that collision center! read more

Every time I go to this location, they never seem to want to assist to the point I want be going back. They were referred to me years ago by my insurance, and the paint work that was done had to be corrected by another referred shop. Even still I tried to do business with this shop because they are the only paint shop in Ruskin. I visited a few years later(shame on me) to get a part painted and I was rudely told they only do insurance repairs. Fast forward a couple of more years to yesterday I visited the location to get an insurance estimate, hoping by now there is a staff change... NOPE same rude receptionist, same unwillingness to help. I stated that I just needed an estimate for insurance purposes. I was asked who was the insurance provider, I advised that it was Berkshire Hathaway Guard. I was then told by the receptionist that "I never heard of that insurance company and I can't locate them in the system..." though all other shops knew exactly who the insurance company was. Then she asked my name, and stated she couldn't locate me in the system. I don't know why this step was taken since I hadn't scheduled an appointment, but it was obvious that she didn't want to help. She then without a flinch says well we can set you an appointment for 10/7/22 over 2 weeks out. This is ridiculous considering most shops do estimates on the spot in this area. This trip was a complete waste of time, visiting this location over the years has been a complete waste of time. This shop thrives off of being the only shop in this area, feeding off of insurance repairs and delivering horrible customer service and mediocre work. I will never go back to this shop nor recommend them based upon my personal experiences. If your insurance company recommends this shop, pick another one! read more

We took out truck there to get fixed after an accident. After it was 'fixed' something would beep every time the brake was stepped on. They installed an after market tail light that worked, but, did not work with the truck. They sent someone from the shop to our truck to look at and come back with a resolution that never came! We had to sell the truck in order to make this problem go away because Gerber would not do so! read more

I was told by AAA Auto Insurance that this was an approved facility. The door was locked during business hours. The woman that finally unlocked the door was a real rude, unpleasant person. She refused to do an estimate despite AAA insisting I go there for an estimate. She also said the turn around time was 3 weeks. I am going to ask AAA to take Gerber off as an approved business. That woman alone is a VERY GOOD reason not to go there read more

My insurance towed my vehicle here and, I called to tell them on a Monday that it was there and the brushed me off like okay we will get to it! Then I called again Wednesday and they said there were busy and understaffed and had not had time to look at my car. I called again that Friday and they told me they never received the car and it wasn't in their possession. I then reached out to my insurance and my car had been there on their back lot the whole time and they never checked. They delayed the start of working on my car by almost two weeks with not a care in the world! They then tried to blame the tow truck for not checking it in which is okay if I didn't call 5 times telling you it was there. Finally the began working on my car and told me it would be ready on a Thursday which is was not because they were missing a part which is no big deal. Then I called the following Monday and they said it was going to detail and would be ready later today or tomorrow. I called on Tuesday after requesting off work to pick up my car and they told me they didn't have wheels... how was my car in detail with no wheels. They literally told me they have no idea how long and basically my car is just waiting on that. I really just don't understand how you operate a business with that lack of customer service. read more

Gerber collision was authorized to do a front end repair on 1 of our fleet cars that had been damaged due to a raccoon. Our 2014 Cadillac CTS needed a front bumper, fog lamp housing, grill and trim. Now overall these are quite costly to repair since the bumper is mainly made out of fiberglass you can't replace a part of it it's the whole piece along, brackets etc with the headlight mounts and a new grill. Cost was very reasonable work was impeccable paint match was beautiful. Work is warranted for life and they returned it to us in a week. Very satisfied with work and paint match. read more

What a horrible experience. Customer service is non-existent. Follow-up is extremely sub-par. Communication all around is just not good. This is the 2nd time I've used Gerber, it will be the last. They did ok fixing the car except they failed to attach a hose correctly. I brought it back and it was missed again by an outsourced specialist. I took it to another repair shop and it was found and fixed within minutes. If you have to go there, avoid the receptionist as best as you can. Her attitude is is extremely condescending and without empathy at all. In a business that is consistently dealing with customers who, in a lot of cases, just went through a car accident; you would think they would try a bit harder to be nicer to the customers. In Reply: This review was left after filing a report with customer care. Then receiving assurances that the issue would be resolved. Then waiting 30-days and not receiving resolution. Upon which filing another report with customer care. While I appreciate your reply, your efforts are too little too late. It shouldn't take a public relations blemish to get issues resolved, when your company has had plenty of time to resolve and avoid the blemish. read more

I just wanted to say how happy my wife and I were with the customer service and top notch work we received from Gerber. My wife's 2011 Sonata was involved (if you can believe this) in 2 hit and runs in her workplace parking garage within 3 weeks. But, Gerber took great care fixing the car and it looks brand new!!! Sadly I cannot recommend. Initially I took my car there at the suggestion of my insurance. I thought the repair looked fine. I had asked about repainting my hood as it looked dull and had some chips on the hood. I had hit a dear in Virginia where I lived previously and it was repaired there. The painter at Gerber actually asked where I got it repaired and I told him he said well they are a nationwide company that has a lifetime guarantee you should take it there and they will redo it for you. I contacted my insurance agent and told her as they had paid the bill and would have the records she helped me right away but because of Covid I was unable to act on it for over a year. The agent sent me to Gerber as they would have them do it and bill the other company in VA. This is where the problems started I went for my first estimate and their estimator Victor was very rude told me my insurance had said it was a self pay ( they did not) I made a second attempt to have an estimate there and the same person Victor was even more rude with me. He argued with me and said I did not have the correct information. I called State Farm claims again they called Gerber and left a message for him I did not receive a call back. At that point I no longer wanted them to do the work as his hostility made me fear what might happen to my car if I left it there. State Farm arranged for me to go to Caliber Collision in Riverview where the service was top notch. Because it was a warranty issue the GEN MGR as well as the painter were involved they all agreed that it was a warranty issue and upon inspection of my car pointed out that the area repaired by Gerber was failing where the bondo filler was coming up. Caliber did a great job as well as being very respectful which was such a blessing after my experience at Gerber. I have never left a negative review hear if you check my page you will see that. I wrote this asI do not want anyone to go thru what. I did for a service. A service should be a help and should be done with professionalism and respect. I did nothing to upset this person or deserve in any way to be treated this way. read more

Follow-up to prior posting - I received a call from the GM apologizing for their actions which led me to  believe they did not care. The GM went on to explain how my complaint resulted in him conducting an inquiry; identifying areas of opportunity and taking immediate corrective actions so that no other customer has the same experience. When I went to pickup   my vehicle, the GM made it a point to be present and again apologized for the breakdown in the excellent customer service which they strive to provide. The GM accepted full responsibility for the poor service I experienced and thanked me for identifying a weak link in their system which has been corrected. As a result, I must say, that I am very pleased as to the results of the outcome and of the  results of the work they completed. read more

Absolutely terrible! They have had my vehicle in their shop for 29 days now. They keep missing their own deadlines. Richard from Gerber blames everyone including Allstate for the issues they are having but just getting a prompt call back from him is nearly impossible. He was supposed to call me at 9am today to give me a pickup time, no call yet. Not surprised. It has been one of the most difficult and disappointing customer service experiences I have had. Yesterday after getting Allstate involved Richard calls to tell me me car is ready but it needs to be cleaned up. His "guy" is working on cleaning up another car but if I ask he will pull him off that car to finish mine. If not he will have the car tomorrow. Why should I have to ask? Been waiting 29 days for my vehicle. Original completion date was set to 2 weeks ago! Customer Service is lacking big time here! I'm a patient person so I told him I would wait till tomorrow (now today). He said I will call you 9am sharp. Of course no call, no car, and worst of all no confidence I will have either any time soon. read more
