He was my gynecologist for my first pregnancy. I was young and anxious and hoping for someone to be nurturing and understanding. Unfortunately, Dr. Georgiou is none of those things. He is a strange man with a strange sense of humor. Right off the bat, he asked me whose "fault" it was for my pregnancy. I'm not sure if he meant this as a joke, but I found it weird. During my FIRST pap smear, I was in a lot of pain. I told him this, and he immediately made the assumption I had an STD. I ended up not having one but this instilled a lot of unnecessary fear in me. Another odd comment he made was when he had a nurse take a look at me. He warned her beforehand to be careful with me because I "haven't had a lot of sex." Shouldn't this be protocol for everyone despite sexual history? I just found that to be a bizarre thing to say about a patient, especially a young one. He went on a trip towards the end of my pregnancy, and I ended up seeing Dr. Wright. He was much kinder and never made me uncomfortable and of course I went to him for my next pregnancy. Biggest regret was ever requesting Georgiou in the first place. If you are in Los Banos, I would advise against requesting him, unless you also have a bizzare sense of humor and like being made uncomfortable. read more
