The employee (the only other person in the gym apart from us) thought it was appropriate to immediately yell at us and accuse us of not having a membership in an attempt to throw us out. A simple, "you're not allowed to do that" would've sufficed, even though we do this just about every time we go this late and none of the other employees seemed to mind given the place is totally empty and we aren't playing anything different than what they play. My father was notified today, so he immediately called Crunch to update the payment information. The employee he spoke with was very understanding and explained that there was an outstanding balance because of the missed payment. Since the additional fees totaled over $100, the employee even offered to speak with the general manager about waiving them because it was clearly an honest mistake. Unfortunately, the general manager refused, stating that it was our responsibility to ensure the payment information( which we were unaware had changed and also received ZERO emails or calls) had been updated before the fees. To make matters worse, he informed my father that he would have to drive over 30 minutes to the gym just to make the payment in person. What was most disappointing was not simply the refusal to waive the fees, but the complete lack of understanding and customer service. We have been loyal members with a consistent payment history, and this was an honest oversight caused by an unexpected card change. Instead of showing any flexibility or appreciation for a long time member, we were met with disrespect and no willingness to give us the benefit of the doubt. This situation could have been handled with much more professionalism, and it is extremely disappointing to see a customer treated this way that only wanted to make it right.

I had a free day pass emailed directly from Crunch Fitness, but because I do not live in Gainesville, Jose told me it was not valid. Fine. Annoying, but not a huge deal. I said I would just pay for a day pass. That is when Jose explained that I could not buy a day pass without a physical hard copy of my driver's license. Not a photo. Not digital. A hard copy. Somehow, I was still allowed to purchase a full membership without it. I told him no problem, I would do a month to month membership and cancel after the required 90 days. Jose then said I would still be required to pay the annual fee. So to be very clear, because I did not have my license on me, Crunch Fitness, through Jose, expected me to pay over 120 dollars just to work out for one day. That is not policy. That is a sales trap. Crunch Fitness is not a luxury gym. It is not exclusive. It is absolutely not worth forcing people into memberships through arbitrary and contradictory rules. Jose showed zero flexibility, zero common sense, and zero interest in actually helping a customer. The only thing being pushed was fees. If this is how Crunch Fitness operates, with confusing rules and staff trained to corner people into spending more money, I will gladly take my business elsewhere. There are plenty of gyms that manage to let adults work out without holding their wallets hostage. Do better.

Most of the treadmills look dated and owner was bragging how much money she had to spend to buy all the equipment. Not sure why that is relevant... Lastly I inquired about month to month membership and could not get an answer. I asked 5-6 times to no avail. She wanted to sell me 12 months or 18 months and did not offer month to month option even if it's significantly more.... Well --- sorry.
