They had a lot of different paintings to choose from and you could change the color schemes and add to it if you wanted too. The two sisters who taught the class were very nice and professional. They were very patient and genuinely helpful. We were there about two and a half hours but it didn't seem that long. We ALL had a wonderful time! I am coming back down in March and I am hoping to take my 4 sisters there as a surprise! It's definitely worth checking out!

Found this place by chance. We were looking for a rice plantation to buy the rice mentioned on GMA…read morebut could not find one. While driving home on Hwy 17 going through Georgetown I saw a sign that said Rice Museum. Yippee . Next thing I know we are in this historic section. The Rice Museum has many steps, and I have a bad back and hip right now so we could not go on the tour but we did get to look around the gift shop area. The gentleman working this shop/museum was so nice and friendly. I bought my rice and he made sure I was aware of how to store it....in the freezer. Who would have thought? (2 lb bag $14.95 and a 1 lb bag 10.95) They also have a yellow and a brown rice. The whole area is cute. If you are driving through pull off and stop and look around. You will be delighted.

The museum opened in 2011 and is a collection of artifacts and memorabilia and artwork. There's quite a lot here including ship models, paintings and even a lens from the North Island lighthouse.
