Stay far far away from this office! I went in to get a foot X-ray (waited 35 mins in the exam room before the doctor came in). Then waited 3 weeks before I finally got ahold of someone for the results... 3 weeks! During that time I called multiple times, left messages, even sent a fax asking for someone to please call me with the results. Once I was even told that there were no doctors in that day but someone would call me the next morning... No call. Finally I called again today and talked to the office gal Lupe and she says "everything's fine". I insisted that everything is not fine as I'm in pain and I asked to speak with the doctor to talk about the next step. I was told that the doctor does not take phone calls or make phone calls. I asked to leave him a voicemail, he doesn't do that apparently. I asked for an email address, he doesn't have one of those either. Mainly I want to talk directly to the doctor to tell him how disappointed I am in the service i've received. Because quite honestly I do not trust that the office gals, who are so very rude, will even give him the message. Horrible service in this office and I will never return. (except to pick up my X-rays since they won't send them to me). read more

Absolutely agree with Karen above. The staff is awful. After 2 doctor's office visits, I called to make a third. I asked if my doctor was there to speak with him or leave a message and she said "I don't know, he may be here or he may be at the hospital. What's wrong with you?" *GASP* She said it in the most annoyed rude tone. My second visit (out of 4), I waited over 30 minutes for the doctor to come into my waiting room. For some reason, copays have "disappeared". I have since switched doctor's and am more than pleased with him and his staff. Thank goodness I got away from that Doctor's office. I won't comment on the staff, but Dr Friedmann has provided outstanding well-informed care to me and my neighbor for more than a decade. I really appreciate his common sense approach and diligence at remaining well versed in the latest research and protocalls. Dr Friedmann and his partner are also affiliated with excellent hospitals and and his decades in the community mean that his specialist network for referrals are also well-vetted and provide similarly excellent care. I think a lot of doctors are fine for most things, but I'm much more confident that when things get very difficult or complicated Dr Friedmann will be skilled, knowledgable and networked to provide world class care. Worst treatment by staff EVER! They turn their fax machine off during lunchtime, so the pharmacy can't even send a refill request. Rude. Inconsiderate. Hanging up saying "We're really busy right now, call later if your problem is serious." No eye contact, just one word requests: "Medical Card." "Full name." I gave first and last- "That's not a full name." "Spell it." Could not get a release form signed even after faxing it, coming in, etc. Had to make an appointment just to have the doctor sign 2 lines on 1 piece of paper which only asked if my child could use his inhaler at school. I usually don't rant about my feelings on social media but I've been sick with something that has lasted almost two weeks, so I went to the doctors Monday, let me mention I haven't had a primary doctor in a few years now so I was looking forward to an easy going sympathetic doctor but it felt like the most uncomfortable experience for me. The doctor was a know it all. He thinks there could be something wrong but most likely "Psychological" He thinks I'm possibly making it all up and causing stress on my body. He doesn't even know me and he got into my personal life. Asking me about school and why don't I want to go back to my regular high school and why I go to alternative school as if it were a prison or something!.I told him I was happy at my new school and he thinks there's something wrong with me mentally. I couldn't believe this doctor tried to be my Psychiatrist! He's the second doctor that has done this to me. I'm seeing you to solve my illness or my pain not to do something that's not in your practice. He self diagnosed me with Gastritis with possible Ulcer. He did not run any tests blood etc.. That's why they "Practice Medicine" because sometimes they have no idea what the hell they're doing. RANT OVER! read more

The staff at Dr. Friedman's office is horrific! And it is really sad because Dr. Friedman seems to be a good doctor. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Friedman for a few months, and has consistantly received bad treatment from the staff. My husband is an epileptic, and requires daily medication. Normally his refills are automatically called into the pharmacy, but for some reason this past week they were not. After my husband called their office repeatedly to make sure the refill was submitted, he received no reply for 2 days. This caused my husband to miss 3 pills and have a massive grandmal seizure!! After going to the ER yesterday, we were told to get an appointment with Dr. Friedman no later than today. My husband called the office first thing this morning and explained the situation. The RUDE receptionist told him that they were booked for the day and there was nothing she could do. He tried to explain the severity of the situation and all she could reply is, 'I don't know what you want me to do about it.' WOW!!! Aren't they supposed to be in the business of helping people??? Avoid this office at all costs!!! read more

Sadly the staff is as bad as the above two reviews state. My 82 year old mother was experiencing an emergent problem...the onset of a UTI. These can be fatal to the elderly if not addressed soon. The very rude receptionist told her they did not have any appointments. The earliest they could see her was in two days. The rude receptionist then told my 82 year old ailing mother that if she wanted to come in the afternoon she could sit in their waiting room and perhaps be seen with no guarantee. I, as my mother's advocate called and asked the rude receptionist if my mom could at least come in for a urine test and get started on a medication in order to avoid dangerous complications. The rude receptionist said that was not their policy so I asked to speak to the supervisor. She at least agreed to talk to the doctor and he agreed that she could come in for the test and a prescription. I took my ailing mother in, spoke to the rude receptionist and waited. A 'nurse' came out and directed my mom to the bathroom for the test. A few minutes later this 'nurse' walked out, shoved a prescription in my elderly mother's hand and abruptly walked away without saying anything to her. My mother was confused so we approached the front desk and asked them why it was handed to my mom without comment. The very rude supervisor said "That was done because you didn't have an appointment!" I was so angry I started to leave but my very nice, though ailing mother, began to apologize saying she hadn't meant to make trouble but she was not feeling well and was trying to get help before it got worse. The rude receptionist started to state that their 'policy' was blah..blah....I just told my mom it was time to go because we were wasting our time. I want to point out the 'nurse' completely ignored another elderly woman in the waiting room (with her walker) when she tried to get her attention. This 'nurse' made no attempt to tell my mother that her test was positive, made no attempt to tell her what the medicine was....zero. Just shoved it into an ailing, elderly woman's hand and walked away! Nice work ladies. You treated a very decent woman who wasn't feeling well as if she was a complete inconvenience. I have no idea if Dr. Friedman is nice or not. His staff, however, is a train wreck in my opinion. read more

Dr. Friedman's office staff called and asked me to come in and see him, after mistakenly thinking he had told her to "call him in." When I showed up the next day, the Dr. asked what I was doing there. It turned out he had told his staff to "call THEM in," meaning some prescriptions we had discussed earlier. From then on, my account went to hell! Dr. Friedman billed my insurance for this "visit," they denied the claim, and the Dr.'s billing department sent me a bill for $76. I called the Dr.'s office manager to object and she said to disregard it...she would take care of it and make the proper adjustment to my account. This happened 2 more times, on each occasion I called, and each time the mgr. said to disregard the bill. Finally, AFTER 8 MONTHS, Dr. Friedman's medical group billing department sent me a nasty Demand and threatened to transfer my account to an outside collection agency. I responded in writing to refute and dispute these charges, and before he even received a copy of this letter, Dr. Friedman sent me a FORM LETTER advising that he was immediately dropping me as a patient! I've, since then, found another much more professional (and personable) primary care physician. In addition, I filed a formal Complaint online with the Medical Board of California. Dr. Friedman is so full of himself that he is the walking definition of a "Pompous Ass." read more

Dr. Friedmans office answers questions well, and quickly. appointments are easily obtained. They have seen me and my family same day when need arises over and over. Dr. Friedman is top notch. He listens amazingly well. I am glad he is in napa. read more

I agree with the staff being completely incompetent. I have been receiving bills from them since November. I've contacted them to let them know they need to respond to my insurance's request for pre-exisiting conditions in order to have the bills paid, they say they have, but they have not. In addition to their incompetency, the girl I spoke with was rude and acted as if I was interupting her soaps. Also, the office was dirty and looked like a government office instead of a place I was spending a food deal of money at. AND the doctor failed to let me know that my insurance wasn't going to cover the X-Ray she sent me down for and I got stuck with a $900 bill. Why do I give them my insurance information so they can check eligibility if they are going to send me for procedures that won't be covered and not notify me? I do not recommend this office at all. read more

This Dr doesn't even deserve one star, My wife had called in a prescription and the pharmacy had to get his ok on it. 2 weeks later even after talking to him and having him say he would call immediately, still no prescription, very bad staff also, they can't even turn the message machine on after hours.
